SUPPER CLUB - Monday, Dec 26th

Post by purrfect-lady » Mon Dec 26, 2016 12:29 am

Good Morning!

My first thought is for you, BECCA, as I pray for you, your family, and your brother's grand entrance into heaven. i hope you were able to find comfort in the love of your family yesterday.

JANA - that was a great story about little Gracie yesterday! I'm guessing she was hungry and she was setting about getting some food in the best way she knew how!

We had a very nice day with Autumn and Aaron yesterday. She made blintzes for breakfast topped with blackberries I brought from home. There was also bacon, turkey sausage, scrambled eggs, and mimosas. Major yum!! Bill and I got back to our trailer about 4:30pm and sat outside for an hour, just relaxing with each other, Scottie at our feet and both cats sprawled on the picnic table. And from Santa, I received a book of 50 states' quilt blocks, a 3-1/2" square ruler, and a package of tiny straight pins for crafts. (to be honest, I sort of helped Santa shop.)

We have no real plans for today. Maybe to tidy up a few things, but otherwise, I guess I'll do some sewing. It's so warm, I'd take it all outside for the day but it's breezy enough that I think I'll stay indoors. Not as much fun as you'd think, chasing tiny pieces of fabric as they blow away in the wind.

I'm not sure what supper might be. Maybe pork chops on the grill? Potatoes of some kind, and a skimpy salad. It will be time to go shopping soon, I think. We're down to stems and seeds here, literally.

What's the plan at your house?

Good morning from a semi sunny and not as chilly, SW. Pa....We've been blessed by not having a "white Christmas", our weather has been warmer than usual, but that's OK......

Mary, happy to hear your Christmas was a good one....Of course it's always good when you have a "kid or 2" around, right????AND Momosa', life it really good! Have been thinking of you and poor Scottie and the nasty experience with unruly neighbors...Scares me just to think about it but so thankful, you 2 are OK....

Becca, really been thinking of you and what your family is going through...But, as Mary said, just being with family has to have been a major comfort...Also, knowing, DB is no longer suffering has to be comforting....Praying for you and the family and hope the heart aches lessen......

Not able to really stick around and chat....Our house is kind of busy, lol....The boys are finally getting up and raiding the fridge...Then most of us are off to do some major shopping damage....My washer decided it has had enough abuse so time for a new one....The boys, will probably find a more fun place to shop and I have a feeling, they will be gone most of the day....

Yesterday was 1 big party after the other and Jim, although quiet, enjoyed the company....I was afraid we might lost someone in mountain of torn wrapping paper but in the end, everyone was accounted for...Jackie and DB Dan try to outdo each other with their wrapping and this year Jackie got him good....She got him a Robotic 3D pan cake maker and kept it in the car but she wrapped up box after box after box..In the last tiniest box she could find, was the littlest stack of pan cakes and a flipper...He was so excited when he finally got the "real thing"....Nick also did the same thing with his Dad by wrapping up Penguin hockey tickets, surrounded by bricks from the garden....We just had so darn much fun....And not to let Mary have all the fun, DDIL, Cindy makes a very good slush, with Pineapple something.......With all the food and fun, I could hardly move last night but it was worth it!

As for our dinner, it will probably be something on the run...I think Terry and the boys will be visiting friends and if we shop, we all know how my car has a mind of it's own.........

So, now, we're off to help the economy and hopefully be back in the laundry business soon....And if not soon, I'll be out there buying underwear........

You all have a great day..................

Good Afternoon!

Dinner will be simple- banned noodle casserole.

Been busy gaining back control of my house. There has been a toy explosion- so we are putting away some for a later time.

Enjoy!

Good afternoon!

A late Merry Christmas to each of you! We had a great day with family and loads of food. Everyone begged for what was left of the two big lasagnas and a small one to take home. I ended up with none for us. I guess they really liked it!

Jana—too sweet about Gracie!!! Love the spoons! I understand regaining control of your house—we returned tables and chairs today and I’ve been sweeping and laundering.

Becca—my heart is with you. Hugs!

Irish—I understand busy… you just have fun with everyone!!! Glad Jim had a good day. I love the gift mysteries! My son-in-law’s family does that. We did in the past—long ago past. So much fun!

One of the DDILs had gotten a bottle of rum at last week’s party, and she brought it with makings for cranberry juice/pineapple juice rum punch. Nary a drop left. Also imbibed in a few more spirits as well. Google has nothing on you with your “self-driving car”. Yours knows all the best eating establishments!!! Enjoy!

Mary—sounds like you had a great time with Autumn and Aaron! We had our feet up and dogs spread all over us last evening as well.

Dinner tonight… banned food. ‘Nuff said. I need to go change loads in the laundry.

Bon Appetit!

Haven't been around lately, cause I am still coughing away here. Didn't go to big Christmas dinner at clubhouse yesterday. We just stayed in.
DH will grill chicken and I will do potato, corn and I made apple salad.

Becca, my sympathies and hugs.

Good Evening Everyone!
Becca - My sincere condolences. My prayers are with you and all those grieving your DB death.

Today was a day of rest! Christmas was wonderful, but I was tired today. Tonight's dinner was Fast Hash, Green Salad, and vegetables.

Maryz - Your Christmas sounds very relaxed. You sound happy and content.

Irish - Your Christmas sounds like lots of fun with presents. You sound a bit frazzled but very happy!

Jana - I hope you got the toy explosion under control! Sounds like the kids had lots of fun. The story about Gracie is adorable, hope it gets written down in her baby book with a picture of her saying prayers. Too funny!

Chickie - The lasagna must have been very good and the punch sounds marvelous. You deserved to put your feet up!

Merry Christmas Everyone!

Becca, I'm so sorry to hear about your brother, prayers to you and your family.
I'm just now relaxing a little, we were out in the motor home visiting Mom and Dad, they're going home tomorrow.
