SUPPER CLUB - Sun, Oct 23rd
Good morning!
Today is my 7/12th birthday! As you all know, I'm old enough now that I celebrate all the birthdays I can! lol!
My throat is worse this morning. I suspect I'll have to go through the whole 9-day cold thing now. I usually don't catch colds and go for years without a sniffle. But this is my third cold-like illness in the past 7 months. So now I have to stay away from Jim. Bummer.
But - it's a great excuse to hang close to my sewing machine cuz I'm starting a new project - applique'd cat wall hanging. A design by Toni Whitney called "Flo Flo". It looks like my sister's cat. and sister's birthday is Nov 24th. It's a pretty involved and detailed pattern, so this may take a while. A fun, enjoyable while.
BECCA - sorry you weren't able to get to your pumpkin fest. It sounds like it was much tastier than the garlic festival Bill and I went to some years back! Yesterday was your 7/12th birthday! Did you celebrate? Are you planning quilts for the new babies on the way?
VELDA - I, too, am a list person. I can't get anything accomplished without my lists. I even make a list of my lists! lol! And Bill has started listing, too. I'm so proud of him! What day do you leave for Texas? If you are all ready, what is holding you back?
JANA - I am wishing your kids well on their house. At one point you were hoping they would be in by New Year's weren't you? When my DD and SIL moved into their new house - 16 years ago - a problem similiar to Lyn's most recent house problem showed up after about a year. When the kitchen cabinets were hung, one of the big screws they use went into the pipes in the walls. Eventually it corroded and Lara had water running down inside her cabinets! At Lyn's house, it was the drywallers, I think, repairing from the flood damage.
TINA - I'm so sorry about your mom. You bent over backwards to do all the headache work for your parents, even though you were sick, and your own family-life plate was already overloaded. No daughter or son could have done more. Your mom is who she is and she isn't going to change now. She should be on her knees kissing your feet for all you do for them both. Please consider the source and try to move past this. Your parents don't deserve an angel like you!
IRISH - I hope you didn't wash away!
CHICKIE - I know you're busy in your sewing room! And probably hanging out admiring your full freezer! ;o[
My computer has been giving me fits. I don't do much on the computer except QIAD and an occasional site researching a pattern or some such thing. My scroll side bar would barely work and it REALLY didn't work trying to go through posted pictures here. Font size would change dramatically even when I wasn't touching the keyboard! And I'd find myself magically transported to other sites as I was trying to type something here! Finally Bill looked at it and found an error on QIAD's part. In 20 minutes he had it fixed and it's like a new computer! yay! Is anyone else experiencing similar problems?
Tonite we're going to have meatloaf, baked potatoes, salad, and a veggie. And tomorrow we'll probably cube up the leftover meatloaf, call the cubes 'meatballs', and have spaghetti. I have two menus mapped out! Love it when a plan comes together!
have you got a plan for tonite?

I am back, my company has left. All that cooking of the banned food is over, but dear nephew in law enjoyed it and ate like I have not seen anyone eat like it since my son was a teenager, lol
Tonigh will be lamb chops, baked potatoe, and a veggie.
It has been a very exciting week. Went for my infusion on Wed and had a reaction to it. Had to get two steroid shots and two antihistamine tablets. So can't have that infusion again. Now on to the last one available to me until they come up with a new treatment. I am told this is the chemo they use for luekemia patients. They also do not think I will loose my hair, so we will see.
Yesterday morning the lady across the street was found dead in her bed and her house was all unlocked.
Last Week Luke chased a bob cat out of our yard.
What is going on here?????? Gotta be quiet this coming week compared to this week.
Off to the sewing room to quietly, calmly sew!!

Re: SUPPER CLUB - Sun, Oct 23rd
Good late morning from sunny but cold, SW. Pa...Although, we still haven't had a frost, to me, it's cold.....
Oh Mary, so sorry to hear about you not feeling well...Just a bad time, all round, right? Terry keeps telling me to take Airborne when I think I'm getting or have a cold...He thinks it's a miracle drug, lol....We didn't wash away, our area got through the storm OK but some, not too far, really got hit...I just can't imagine being in a flood and then having to clean up afterwards...That would be a nightmare...I think the scariest time we had was a few years ago, it rained so hard the water was coming down through our yard (which is all hill) and onto the patio....It started 2 streets above us and was washing everything away in it's path...It got to the patio and came within an inch of coming in the back door, thankfully, we were able to keep pushing the water to the sides and around the house but it took out all my flowerbeds and all the landscaping around the house...The creek down below us flooded and the 1st time ever, the water came over the bridge....It was a very scary time and I think everyone in our area had water in their basements...But to be completely covered with water, I think I'd have to move....Wow, enough of that, right!
Becca, I did go back and read the last few posts and am so happy to read about your eye check up...That's wonderful! And to have someone lined up for your house if ever you decide to sell, another good thing....Boy, if someone came to my door with an offer, I'd give them the keys, lol....I love my house but just not all the steps or the huge yard.....
This morning has been a bit "confusing"...Jim keeps insisting, the car in our garage isn't our's and we need to move it...I keep the car keys hidden but he's been in and out of the car, trying every key he can find..And he keeps walking through the house, looking for his "wife"...You just wonder what is going on in his mind...Each day, there is something different, not being able to determine, shirts from pants, wanting to put his can of Ensure in the mirco wave, I could go on and on...As I've said, each day is an experience and we can only hope and pray it's a good one......
We'll be going to Dan's to take care of the fur kids and then maybe onto to Aldi....Tomorrow, I have an appointment with the "slice and dicer" (just a check up) so maybe I'll wait to shop then...Also need to stop at JoAnns (gosh darn).....
For our dinner, it might be the chicken that didn't make it out of the freezer the other day...I'm thinking stuffed breast, mashed spuds, gravy and a veggie....Mary, I like your idea of 2 menus planned...Heck, I have a hard time with 1............And, I do need to make pumpkin pies, 1 for us but 1 for Dan, to welcome him home......
Happy eating................

Re: SUPPER CLUB - Sun, Oct 23rd
Good afternoon everyone,Kind of late but at least. I made it.Been a low day for DH,bed or couch.Last 3 days he's been that way.
Maryz I will do quilts but unless things change here it will be first of year project. No way did I celebrate. Had never heard of a half birthday until you introduced me.But it was yesterday.Im just keeping count of my days after surgery due to wearing eye patch at nite.
Irish I too would jump on offer to sale to get away from steps & all our yard work. But I see he won't budge. And the way he is you can't push.I have made up my mind it will have to all be hired out next year, yard work I mean.Oh the joys. I try to stay positive. But that doesn't eliminate steps.I for sure would want a one level.Oh dear your days sound like it is always a surprise.Prayers for both of you.
Floods are very scary things.Glad you live on a hill .We do too.
Tina Wish I could hug you & make it all better.I agree with Maryz they should kiss your feet.I know I would if my DD did all that. She is good to us but she is far away.
Chickie You must be feasting on all your bounty.Enjoy.
Carole Your reaction was scary I'm sure.I used to have them to my allergy shots but no more.Sure hope this one works for you.
Just dropped my phone & I think it means a new one unless I can get it fixed.Oh well.Could be worse.
Sitting on porch soaking up the warm sunshine.DH has no appetite.Yesterday he only ate milk & cornbread.I made some brocolli salad. And will grill some turkey sausage. So will see if he eats.Always Have ice cream for afters. Becca

Mary, so sorry you caught it, feel better soon!
Mary and Becca, thank you so much!
Becca, sorry your DH doesn't feel like eating.
Irish, Hugs to you, I can't even imagine. I'm sure he keeps you on your toes.
Carole, Oh my goodness! I hope there was no foul play in the death of your neighbor. Sorry you had a reaction, I hope this other one works for you.
I'm in my sewing rom with tons of ideas going through my brain and trying to ignore them and finish up what I'm working on LOL crazy brain! hehe
I'm not sure what we're eating for supper, all the leftovers are gone so that means I gotta come up with a plan......

Good Morning Everyone!
After Mass this morning and breakfast I have been working on uglies and Kenmore Waltz this morning. The hot weather has left (for now) and we had a few drops of rain overnight with more expected tonight. So delightful!!! I even had my car washed yesterday and am still looking forward to the rain! lol
Tonight's dinner will be Stuffed Pepper Casserole, mostly because I haven't any in the freezer and need to make some so I have at least one for freezer.
Maryz - Sorry you have caught that cold. Jim and his DW are lucky to have Bill to help them. Glad to hear their son will be arriving soon. Take care of yourself and get well soon.
Carole - Sorry to hear about your reaction. Glad you are okay.
Irish - Glad you made it through the flooding without damage.
I was interrupted while writing to do some other work, but now I need to close and get back to other things.
