Supper Club - October 19

Post by FarmChick » Wed Oct 19, 2016 7:52 am

Good afternoon! I can’t believe I’m setting the table today.

Carol—I am sure you are having a great time at your Dear Jane class. Those quilts are stunning!!! MaryZ and Carole have done them, and I’m sure others here… Jacquie? I don’t think I could handle those small blocks… 6” about did me in on LUB and Farmer’s Wife. Did you get to take your meatloaf sandwich to your class?

Becca—I’m sorry about your friend having to deal with this plantar fasciitis, too. I haven’t worn high heels for 11 or more years, so I don’t know why I’m getting it now! I walk a lot, so it’s not like I started any new activity, either.

Jana—my DH and my DGD love chicken fried steak with white gravy.

Dinner here tonight will be steak, potatoes and salad… unless I can get DH to go up to the roadhouse and have the Wednesday night special of chicken fried steak or chicken fried chicken (my fave) with potatoes and gravy and a veggie.

Enjoy!

Hello ladies :)
I think tonight's supper will be tacos. ...
Chickie, I had a bone spur grow on the back of my heal and had the same exact symptoms. .. it looked like a chickens claw. I never wore high heels LOL I've never had good balance ;)
Going for my results from my sleep study in a little bit. I've been working on a Rare Bear, if I get finished by Saturday then Kevin can take it in to the Bernina store in Cruces for me so it can be shipped off on the 28th.

Hello everyone,Been a busy crazy day here.
DH had his blood work first. Then errands, then my retina specialist. We get to his office & porch is full.I thought maybe they were closed for lunch.WRONG.The inside was packed.WhenI went up to window to check in she said an Hr to 11/2 HR wait or cancel & come another day.Now he only comes here twice a month.I told her I will wait.DH walked 2 business down to Resturant & ate. Then he sat on porch & another gentleman visited with him so it worked out ok.I was there for almost 3 hrs.All the fun I can take for one day.BUT the best is yet to come.Drum Roll.My eyes have improved to 20/70 from 20/200 in 3 wks.And my good eye is now 20/30.I was so happy. And I don't have to go back for 2 months.Sorry for the book but I had to share good news.

Chickie My friend says that's very painful.Sorry you have it.

Tina my niece had bone spurs too.I am curious about your Rare Bear.Is this a bear you make? I used to make a lot of Teddys. All kinds.

Well DH had his big meal.I made me a ham/ lettuce sandwich when I got home.He even had key lime pie,my favorite.
Happy eating to all.Becca

Becca hi :) yes these are bears you make :) they go to children with rare diseases. I'm stuck on doing the legs, I think they said there's an instructional video on YouTube so I'm going there now to see if it's there.
My sleep study showed I need my air pressure increased from 7 to 10. The company that has the new machines will be calling me next week. ...I'm really hoping my insurance will pay most of it.
I changed what's for supper here LOL were going to have sausage, I'll save the making off tacos when Kevin comes home this weekend.

Good Evening Everyone!
Dinner tonight was Parmesan Chicken, Mashed Potatoes and Broccoli. I did not get home from class until after 4:00 and had to go to store to purchase the chicken. We had dinner at 6:00!! Yeah.

Chickie - The class was wonderful. I do not intend making a large quilt. I am sewing only as many as I feel like, perhaps as many as nine. I am using a pale aqua background and a teal print for all of the blocks. Laura Frago had a lot of great tips. She has made nine Dear Jane Quilts. She gave everyone in the class a Dear Jane button and said we were officially Janiacs if we had completed one block, I finished three, but need to make the last one over again.

Lunch was wonderful. The bread came out perfect!! It was a Honey Wheat. I started the recipe before I checked the quantity of honey on hand. DH had gotten into it and I had less than 1/4 cup. I needed 1/3 cup. I had a very small taster jar of honey from Hawaii someone had given me and that brought it up to 1/4 cup. I melted two tablespoons of brown sugar to bring up the measurement to 1/3 cup. Yeah for women's ingenuity!

Becca - You did not write a book. It is very commong for me to be at the Retina Specialist more than 1-1/2 hours. There have been many times it has been 3 hours. I am delighted to hear your vision has improved so much! Congratulations.

Tina - Glad the sleep study showed the problem. I hope the insurance does pay for it.

Now that I have written a book.
Goodnight everyone!
Sleep well!
Carol
