Sonya - There is a child in every adult so go for it. WIll love to here your adult memory

Izzy - I do remember those 6" blocks. Mine are hanging out with the big Leaf Blocks just waiting to be put together. That is a great memory especially when you have a quilt made with blocks from a fellow pal. Such a sweetheart she is!!!
I love your Fall fabrics. I think I have that Charm Pack!!! Will keep an eye open for it with the Row Package.
Your Fall memory sounds like so much fun with lots of smiles. Great costumes and your hubby is very creative!
Ysabel - WELCOME BACK!!!! Happy Stash Diving!!! You can even come over and dive into mine

When I think of the memories of Fall I remember the many times we rakes piles of leaves and jumped into them. The Fall Harvest Fair my Aunt and Uncle were a part of. The giant Swings and my first pony ride. My favorite time though is Thanksgiving when we all gathers at my Aunt/Uncle's home. 4 cousins, more Aunt/Uncles, rights of passage when you could pour drinks, watching the football games, wonderful food, playing football outside before it was leftover sandwiches before going home. Never had any expectations like Christmas has. Just family and fellowship. The best!

Here is a picture of Flo's blocks. Wonderful fabrics and colors. ENJOY!!

Velda - WOW! Up close and personal is FABulous! Love the fabrics and the colors just add so much beauty to my living room
Are you going to the Quilt Show in Springfield, ILL? How far away are you?
Jacquie - I forgot to tell you that I LOVE MY MINI 6" block!!!! Adorable!!!
Been pretty busy at my house this past week. Valerie and her family stopped by for breakfast at Foxy's on the way to Vegas for her sister's funeral. She picked up her Baby Faces Quilt. Will post pictures soon.
Also was able to finish my friend, Deb, 4 quilts and got them in the mail on Thursday. Yesterday and today I gave my shoulder a short break from quilting to catch up on computer work and find my desk in my sewing room. It was so happy to see me - LOL!!!!

Re: October LOTTO Block - Disappearing 9 Patch - Fall Colors - THE WINNERs ARE!!!
Chores and errands for today are done.
..Putting dinner in the crockpot and then working on my blocks...
A Favorite Fall memory happened in 2001 (and every year after) when my parents bought a large house on a beautiful 1 acre treed lot.
They were so excited as for the most part most of the houses I grew up in were considered small by most people's standards for a family of seven.
It was a 3 story house that became the home one of my dear grandmas and my mamma would pass on to Jesus from.
They lived in it for over 13 years until papa could no longer live there without mamma.
It held many fond memories that us 5 children and our respected families would remember through our lifetime.
That beautiful treed lot came with a couple buckeye trees..
Mamma and papa loved buckeye trees and their jaunts (that any one of us would often accompany them to) would include snatching up a couple buckeyes at Kingwood Center in Mansfield.
They came to their new home in the month of July...by October the buckeyes were falling from THEIR trees!..
We had not been able to visit until then and when we drove up to their house that early October it was indeed a beautiful sight with the oaks in color, a few maples, glorious huge pines...and those buckeye trees!
They were standing outside beaming saying doesn't it look like a park?..
I, who love buckeyes, too...immediately focused and them and started picking some up..
Papa said "wait" !...I looked up at him rather confused and said, sure papa..
He looked at mamma and said "you pick you out a buckeye, Virginia"...and she did.
Then he picked him out one..
He put them together and said "these are our anniversary buckeyes, snookums..
Then he looked at me and said "have at it, but you better get moving because the Princess (his first granddaughter....is on her way to get her some...!
So each year after that my niece and I would see who got there first and pick up as many buckeyes as possible..
(I have a bucket full in the basement now not yet drilled for stringing with rusted jingle bells and red wool yarn for garland..)
More importantly I hold 2 of the most precious items I've ever owned..
Those 2 anniversary buckeyes papa gave to me when he moved up here from that home he made with mamma over a decade ago...
And that is one of my most favorite Fall memories...
(((((Hugs))))) Sonya

Sonya, I stopped by just to see what's going on here. Too busy this month to play, but like to sneak a peak. Loved your story about your parents house and trees. But one question? What are buckeyes? I had no idea they were a THING. Certainly not in our part of the country!

Hi Maryz, I too was wondering what a 'buckeye' was and I had to 'google' it to see...
We call them a 'Conker' here in the UK... (from our Horse chestnut tree)
I loved the story!! Just wonderful!!
Hugs!! Jacquie xxx

Jaquie, thank you! Especially for the picture. They look like chestnuts to me! Buckeye must be a variety or a colloquial term. (and wow! I spelled colloquial correctly on the first try! Gold star for me!)

LOL us ohio/ky girls know buckeyes;)
The horse-chestnut (Aesculus hippocastanum), a European native, is occasionally seen as a planted ornamental shade tree, but Ohio buckeye (Aesculus glabra) is the most common of the three. Ohio buckeye is an American native and grows in woods as close as northern Iowa, northern Illinois, and Michigan.
here is the difference in Jacquies and ours:) one is European one is OHIO born LOL:)
