SUPPER CLUB - Sunday, Aug 28

Post by purrfect-lady » Sun Aug 28, 2016 4:07 am

Good morning, everyone!

I think fall has arrived here. At least the spiders are in fall mode. I have to be careful walking around outside. They can spin a web for me to take out with my face in a matter of minutes!

We have most of our trailer work done. a little more cleaning to do in the old rig and a little more organizing to do in the new one. I'm down to the things Bill has to do - install napkin older, tissue dispenser, cat flap, etc. Most things fit, but differently. The underbed storage is so high - that adding our big new mattress and 3" foam topper brings the bed almost up to my boobs. If I were younger it would have a ways to go, but not nowadays. But we are going to need step stools!

IRISH - I'm hating the thought of you up on a ladder cleaning those gutters! Call a grandson! I'm going to try to remember that chicken ala king for next time I'm wondering what am I going to fix.

TINA - how did you do at the BBQ yesterday? Good luck at the doctor. I hope he can figure out the problem for you and send you on a healing road.

VELDA - I, too, usually cook extra chicken for leftovers. We buy it at costco in the 6 pack of 2-breast packages. we usually share one per meal. I plan to shred the second one for chicken tacos next time I do chicken.

BECCA - how did the party go? From your sew-in post, it seems you had a happy day! How did your DH fare with all the excitement?

This morning is breakfast with Jim & Terry. Then finish up in the trailers. I think we can do it all today. Company arrives on Thursday for 4 days so we need our guest room ready. Plus, I need to do "company cleaning" in the house! the yard is in sad shape, but that can't be helped in such short order. But I'll get to that one of these weeks.

supper tonite will be leftover stew. It was so nice to be so tired yesterday and to come in the house at 5pm and smell that wonderful dinner and know all I had to do was dish it up.

What's on your menu tonite? Maybe chicken ala king? ;o)

Mary, I'm wondering if I'm having all these back problems and exhaustion for all you do! ;) it must be transferring some how LOL The BBQ wasn't that great sad to say and the folding chairs didn't do me any good but you know I'm sick of complaining, it's a downer. I'm just going to do the best that I can. I made a big dent in my Christmas geese yesterday and will be working on those again today!
Irish, I agree with Mary, call a grandson.
Chickie, it was great chatting with you yesterday!
Becca, sounds like you had a great day :)

I'm not sure yet what will be for supper, maybe one of you will inspire me or we might have tacos.Lol I'll let ya know.

Good morning,

Mary - good luck on selling the old toy. Matt is looking to buy a fifth wheel for his family. One is for sale just down the road. He's in no big hurry. He wants a bunk house type with all the kids.

Becca - what a wonderful celebration for you with your family. Family is the best thing!

Tina - yes, i do think other peoples aches and pains travel! Someone around me must be working extra hard for me to hurt all the time! LOL Hope you feel better soon.

The kids will be gone to the in laws today for dinner. It's Kate's youngest sister's bd. She's 17. Dinner will be just us and i may just eing it!

Oh yes, the great thing happening here is that the builder broke ground and is digging the kids new home foundation. They are ecstatic! We are thinking that Christmas is a possibility, but more likeky, middle of January for their move in. They were getting discouraged over the time in getting started.

Gracie has a few new words. She is just starting to talk. Happy is one word. She heads over to a corner in the kitchen, reaches up to the counter and says, happy, happy happy. It's the corner where the treats are. Didn't take long to learn that one!

Enjoy,
Jana

Good afternoon from overcast Southeast Kansas. We are still looking for some rain. I hear thunder, but no rain so far. This has been the story for over a week. Areas 10 miles from us have had flash flooding while we have had nothing at all!

Irish—I’ll be checking my Betty Crocker cook book for your Chicken ala King! The 1957 Betty Crocker Cookbook was my textbook for cooking class in junior high school. I like the old cookbooks better than most newer ones.

Mary—are your guests going to try out your new guest room before you get to? That doesn’t quite seem fair. Your stew sounds delicious!

Jana—You really need to keep a notebook of your DGKs’ sayings!!! If my dogs could speak, they would say “happy, happy, happy” at the treat drawer! It always takes longer to get a house built than it is supposed to. Good luck to them!

Becca—enjoy your massage! What a nice celebration!

Tina—I think your back is empathizing with Mary and Irish! I enjoyed our visit!

The rain went around… again!

Dinner tonight is from the crockpot… a Thai pork tender loin that has coconut milk, pineapple and spices. It will be served with rice noodles, a pineapple/mint/lime slaw and probably cherry tomatoes on the side. It’s been smelling real good, and it’s fork tender. I may just shred it rather than try to slice it. Hopefully it will taste as good as it smells… and, that DH will eat it. If not, he has birthday cake The recipe was in a magazine, and they used a pork roast. I’m thinking it would be just as good with chicken thighs and/or breasts. .
Enjoy!
