SUPPER CLUB - Mon, Aug 22
Hi there!
I'm late. Sorry about that. Our camping plans changed because our friends had a family emergency that they have to fly to NC for so we cancelled all our rezzies. Which means tomorrow morning we'll go to Oregon instead to pick up our new trailer. Can't complain about that! We'll be gone for 2 nights. So we've had to unpack the trailer and then repack the truck for a road trip, sans trailer, to Bend. Will spend the night at friends who live there, pick up the rig Wed morning, and then spend the night someplace between there and here. So we had to pack sheets, blankets, pillows, coffee, and dogfood. Also towels, TP, and a few other essentials. A few snack things, but mostly, I think we'll be doing Subway. Except for the percolater, no pans are going. Whoo Hoo!
My brother has been so sore from his bumps and bruises from his fall a week ago that they've been postponing their trip for several days, a day at a time. I just got a text that they are going to try it today but will come home if Jim can't handle it. But most of their plans have been cancelled and I think they'll only go as far as their son's cabin in the Idaho Panhandle. But it will be good for him to see his boy. and good for his boy to see Jim! (their 'boy' is 51!)
So tonite will be a 'short dinner' - maybe some fried onions and potatoes, salad, and corn on the cob because my SIL gave it to us out of their garden.
I hope you have a tasty few days! I'll be back by Friday. I think.

Mary, Woohoo you get to go get your trailer early! I bet you're excited! You're just taking Scotty? No kitties? Maybe I read that wrong? I hope your brother gets to feeling better and even if his trip is just a short one to see his son it'll be good
I hope you all have safe travels.
We made the Salisbury steak stuff last night with rice and a salad, I liked it better than Frankie and the boys loved the leftovers at lunch! I'm guessing though I'll change the recipe a little, it was really sweet using the French onion soup....that's the part Frankie want too fond of. He did almost all the cooking, I just mixed everything up since I haven't been feeling very well. I'm better now but not totally well yet.....soon.
I'm thinking soup for supper out of a can....
Tina

Quick drive by... we are going to grab a burger on our way to the visitation this evening. I feel so sad for my DDIL and the rest of the family. Her dad is so devastated. They did everything together, and he will be so lost.

Late, dinner is still on the stove. Pork chops, stuffing, gravy and peas. Kate is due home in a few more minutes from work.
Yeah Mary - a quick trip to get the new toy!
My drapes are hung, just need to decide where the tie back goes on the wall. Right now, they are tied back with a shoelace, so we can audition the placement.
Enjoy,
Jana
