SUPPER CLUB - Monday, Aug 8th
Good Morning,
We have rain and lots of it this morning. Which would be so welcome any day but today. The morning we are moving furniture in our pick-up. Warren's family gave us the furniture in his apartment for our grandson's new house. So it all comes here to Bill's shop until Drew closes on his house in a few weeks. And there is a big armoire that he doesn't want so my SIL is ecstatic to take that for her fabric that she keeps stored in cardboard boxes. And a wheelchair for my brother. The family just wants to be rid of it all.
IRISH - that's a big boy! Are his parents tall? Love the name! Our Jim is supposed to use a cane or walking stick for balance, but he won't. and so he falls a lot and now we have a hip fracture. Stubborn people make their own rewards. Sigh. Still have half the cobbler left. Come on over!
TUNA - did your cold hit or pass you by? Last thing you need with all going on in your life.
BECCA - you're right - it does hurt when you just can't keep all the things that are precious to you but no one else wants. But I was able, finally, to pass on my piano!! I was ready to donate it, tearfully, when my niece finally said she wanted it. She will be the fifth generation to own it. but have to say, my cats miss sitting on top of it!
We have some leftover chicken and a bit of potato salad left so I think that will be supper tonite. Looking forward to tomorrow night - new food!!

Glad Warren's furniture is going to good use
Becca, Lol look I got Mary to say tuna he he
I'm sick, yuck. No backup babysitter yet but if I get worse I'm calling Holly and she can have Adam watch them.
As far as supper here, it depends how I feel.... I'd like soup and I have all the makings for it.

I just had to stop by and chat a bit. I know I am one of those "hit and miss" gals. Sometimes I don't even get on the "puter" at all in this heat and summertime.
But, Tina: you made me laugh...... "Tuna" Yes, Maryz does hate those 4 letter words..... softly giggling.
Maryz: so happy Warren's furniture is going to enjoy a new life.
We are having a couple of cooler days here finally, but the heat will be back. Days are beginning to shorten, so it won't be long and the nights will be cooler and the hummingbirds will be feeding up for flight. I will enjoy any cooler day we get for now.
Food: well, we too are eating up leftover tonight. Had chicken last night and it was soooooo good. There is plenty left for our hungry bellies for tonight. I always try to add a salad during the summertime.
I am hoping to make "sloppy Joes" or BB-Q later in the week with homemade potato salad.
Have a great afternoon.
Hugs
Vel

Hello! Remember me? Things have been BUSY! DGD is here—her family went out to dinner with us Saturday eve, so I didn’t make it here then. Yesterday went by in a blur as well. We made fajitas for dinner.
Today we went to the vet for flea med supplies and heartworm tablet supplies. It’s amazing how much we spend there!!! I am getting $45 back in rebates, so it helps soften the blow. Mary, I know I need to check out the online meds. Today I got a new product that is supposed to be better than Frontline for the flea situation. We are going to do doggy spa night with baths in the shower for all and the new flea med. Tasha is going to put on her swimming suit and be my in shower helper. It will still take DH and I to help get Tinker Bell in there.
Tonight we are having buttermilk onion strings (a Ree Drummond/Pioneer Woman recipe that Tasha loves), cheeseburgers with all the trimmings and salted caramel ice cream for dinner. (Diet next week!!!)
OH, Irish!!! That’s a big baby!!! My DD didn’t weigh that until she was almost six months old!
MaryZ—I’d be excited for the armoire too!!! Lucky SIL!!! Glad you got a wheelchair!
Becca—we are a little cooler and overcast today as well. We even had a shower early this morning. I love the sound of rain on the roof!
Tina—You poor thing! I wish you could shake what it is that has stayed with you all summer it seems. Tasha is taking bronchitis meds, and it’s slowed her down… some! I hope you get your soup! I can eat it regardless of the temperatures outside. And, it makes me feel better.
Vel—I don’t like the shorter days… our hummers are going nuts with the feeding! I’ve been making 16 cups of nectar a day. Hard to keep up with feeding them, the Hooligans and DH!!! It’s good to have DGD here to be my sous chef! I vote for BBQ! Enjoy!
Time to get busy here again! Enjoy your evening!

Good afternoon,
Guess that is what you call a Freudian slip! Tuna!
Dinner is not planned yet. But we will figure something out. Kate has a training class tonight, so i will save her sonething for later.
We went to dinner at the Longhorn steak house. Oh my - they put a seasoning rub on their meats that was so hot - spicy - that my eyes were watering! So I removed as much as i could with a paper napkin, but it was still too spicy to eat. Brought it home and rinsed it off with water - it now could be eaten. Now it was very tasty. So beware if you ever eat at that steakhouse, ask about the rub - my suggestion for all but Chickie - she loves spicy- ask them to leave it off. Otherwise everything there was very good.
The kids did tacos for dinner last night -DH's favorite meal and made him a spice cake - he loved it.
So i am off to come up with dinner - humm, maybe chicken and rice with country gravy.
Enjoy,
Jana
