Supper Club - Wednesday June 8
Good morning! Never a dull moment here with DGD! Yesterday I was playing soccer with her… did you hear of any earthquakes here as I was lumbering around? What fun! We went out for pizza last night… tonight will be back to cooking.
MaryZ—I was interested to find out your massage therapist helped with your plantar fasciitis. Mine has been painful for at least a year. Some days it’s a little better, then back to the hobbling around. Whatever did he do?
Oh, tell me about the forgetting what I was going to do and getting sidetracked… sigh!!! That’s the story of my life any more. Your fabric sale sounds divine! What a great shop!!!
DGD and I have been working on art quilts—painting and resist… making our own fabrics. Yesterday we quilted, so today we do the backing and binding and maybe a little more quilting as well. Lots of fun! We’ve also been going to see Ava. On Monday, DS1 found a pair of fawns in the road when their mom ran off. Since he needed to get through the road, he picked up the barely hours old babies and took them over to some shady grass on the edge of the road. He texted DH and I, but we were in town mowing. I texted DGD, and she ran down to see them (after locking up the dogs). That was a special bonus of her stay at the farm!
Tina--hope your folks can get settled near you soon!
Irish—when my Jim needed extra calories, I put ice cream in his Ensure and made malts which he loved. He didn’t want to eat anything else, either. I like your concept of “information overload” and “stuffed brain” for reasons why I can’t remember anything. We’re just full of smarts! Gosh, my weeds have outgrown my plants, too. I need to spend time out there as well and did a little yesterday morning, but there is LOTS more to do. I’d love to see the chickens that lay the Italian eggs, too! I had a buff orffington that laid big brown eggs. Her name was Buffy.
I need to get busy here. Just wanted to stop by and say hi. DGD has the rest of the week’s menus planned… hot dogs with onion rings (homemade like Pioneer Woman) tonight, chicken-fried steak fingers with gravy dipping sauce and fried potatoes tomorrow night, and pond fruit (needs to be caught!) on Friday night. She is my salad maker and makes delicious ones to accompany our meals. We have several things for afters including banana nut bread.
Enjoy! Like Mary, I'll drop in when I can squeeze in a minute or three... HUGS to all!

Chickie, so glad you're having so much fun : ) did the mommy deer accept the babies back?
Becca, we're going to do pizza here either tomorrow or Friday because when Jazmyne got sick her choir had a pizza party and she was crushed that she missed it so I told her I'd get her pizza when I was feeling better. I think Friday would be a great day to get it because it's the last day for the teachers but tomorrow is the last day for the kids so either day will work and her Papa will be home both days so we'll just have a little party hehehe
Tonight's supper will be something made with hamburger......hmmmmm

Re: Supper Club - Wednesday June 8
Good early afternoon from chilly, breezy but sunny, SW. Pa...I'm sitting here in a sweat shirt, long pants and socks, today I'm complaining!
Chickie, so glad to see you get the table ready...Today, I need hot tea, please.....I like the idea of adding the ice cream to Ensure, that's how I'd want it, but Jim loves it as is...And now, it's not so much gaining weight as getting him to eat, but I guess as long as he's getting all the good stuff in the Ensure, he'll be fine...And a little trick from the doctor, he said, if I ask Jim what he wants to eat or me to make and he says, nothing, wait about 10 minutes and either ask again or just go ahead and make something....Most of the time, he'll have forgotten what he had told me....What do they say about an old "dog" learning new tricks!
I can imagine how much fun you must be having...What a difference, what a joy, having a young person in the house....
Becca, I'm with you when it comes to forgetting, best to just laugh it off...(Of course people do wonder why I'm smiling or laughing most of the time), lol......
Mary, yesterday you had asked if Terry is planning or looking for a job up here and yes he is...But, he's not teaching, he's an engineer...He did get his Math degree and taught advanced math and all those things that I didn't understand, at the local HS for about 10 years along with tutoring...But, he also has his engineering degree and something else so he shouldn't have a problem finding work....He finally was able to get into the house the other night and told me, it's going to need a lot of work....Apparently she left quite a mess....But, it will get done...I keep telling him, good things happen to good people and he's one of the good ones, for sure....
I really haven't made it out to the garden today but I'm thinking, it's too cold for me....It's only going to the high 60s today with lots of wind...I'm hearing, there was a tornado hit just north of us...Crazy weather! But, I am sewing up a storm, just 1 more border for Cari's quilt and then the fun begins....I hate to think of all the struggeling, pushing and pulling I'll be doing while quilting this thing...But, it is going to be nice....I did finish place mats for a friend and next will be a quilt/throw for my DS's new DGGS who is due next month....I should be doing windows and getting the summer curtains hung but sewing is more important, right?
For our dinner, I'm going to make stuffed peppers...We haven't had them for awhile and today is a good day to have the oven on....Of course, Jim might think otherwise....About an hour ago, he said, he was going to bed, put his PJs on and crawled under the covers...I have found (another trick), try not to argue (which is very hard for me, lol).............
Happy eating..............
