Daily Devotion 6/7

This is absolutely the truth. I see my DH going through so much being a pastor. People leave church for some petty and foolish reasons. Over the years he has heard it all. During visits he has listened to so many excuses and then he is down on himself wondering why they do the things he preaches so much against. THE WORLD rules in a foolish persons life. Now mind you my DH never tells me who or what is said in any of his visits; I read his emotions and the heart break he feels when he comes in from his visitations. Its hard being a pastors wife. My DH and I have no secrets we talk about everything. But We can not talk about his ministry visits. He goes to the LORD to discuss those. I feel helpless at times and frustrated. I see how people act in church and I want to go thump their noggens and say "Are you Listening?"

Please keep your pastors and their wives in your prayers this week. WE go through so much and its a difficult road at times. WE love our congregations but WE are not always loved back by all. The majority YES; but there is always a bad apple on every tree that wants to spoil the joy because they have the worm of the world imbedded so deap in their ways and not letting the LORD remove the bad spot so that the rest stays renewed and fresh.

God bless and always know your in my prayers.

Izzy you and DH are certainly in my prayers.

It's something how many different personalities there are out there, and how people can justify anything making them right in their thinking.

And when people tell a story they are never at fault, it's always the other person.

Your analogy of the bad apple reminded me of Adam and Eve.

Izzy I so know what you mean because of my DD being a Pastors wife.It is a very difficult road you walk.A pastors wife plays a big role in The Pastors life.Your support helps him thru so much. There will always be people who will not support the Pastor just as Jesus had persecuters when he was on Earth.
As I tell my DSIL & DGS that are both Pastors they will receive their reward. Not here but in Heaven.
What a wonderful World it would be if people kept their eyes on the Lord & not looking for others mistakes.
This verse has always meant a lot to me because of the assurance of knowing that God is not a God of fear but love. And we must reverence him.
Thank you Izzy & prayers for you & DH. Becca

Good morning,

Izzy it is so hard to be in a leadership/serving position in any church. I see first hand how hard it is on my son, who is seving as a Bishop. He was always my tender hearted child.

Many who attend only want the warm fuzzys and partake at the religious buffet, picking and choosing, nibbling on the easy way.

I learned that in the Old Testament that when the word fear is used, you can translate it to love, so when you love the Lord, knowledge does come and increases your wanting to live a better life.

Blessings are poured out upon those who serve, so much they can't take it all in.
