SUPPER CLUB - MOTHERS DAY, May 8th
Good Morning and Happy Mother's Day to you all!
We had such beautiful weather yesterday that I almost felt guilty staying inside with "Stitch", my Bernina. But the two of us got a lot accomplished and I hope to keep my momentum going today. I finished my Woven Ribbons quilt - 104" square. It's so big I don't have a place to lay it to take a photo! One day I will sit down and try to win the battle with Photobucket and post some pictures. I also finished a postage stamp scrappy quilt that has been in the making for almost a year. I cut my tiny scraps into 1-1/2" squares and use them as jump scraps when I'm piecing. I sew them together in strips of 12 and then 12 strips to make one 12" block. And sew on . . . and yesterday I had enough together to call it a quilt! All from fabric - and thread - that would have been tossed out by a sane person. After that I went back to my Seahawk quilt and got a lot done there. If nothing interrupts me, I should have it finished in a day or two as well. Then it's on to a baby quilt and then a wedding quilt. And DH is working hard, quilting a PFTH quilt for Chriss's aunt. It's turning out beautifully! He really had some great ideas that are making the blocks pop!
IRISH - what a nice surprise from Kathy & Tim! Tasty! that might tempt Jim! And I bet that was scary when his wound started to bleed. There are bandages, meant for burns, that are infused with Vaseline, but sounds like you devised your own. You have been busy getting ready for this morning, but that's the beauty of company - You get the house cleaned up, you enjoy the company, and when they leave, your house is still clean! I'm still coasting on the cleaning frenzy we had here for Mary Q and Sue. Special Mother's Day hug to you. I know you feel the empty spot in your hugging arm, but he's there, hugging you back! I know he is.
BECCA - what a nice day you had yesterday! And for your DH, too, being able to visit with friends. Your DD is going to be so busy - moving, new DGB, and trying to keep up with you! But it's a happy busy!
VELDA - Hi! Welcome to the table! I saw that we posted almost simultaneously. I usually have two tabs open and I checked to make sure no one has posted, then went back to the other tab, hit send, and you still beat me by a few seconds! lol! They all worked it out. So tell us, how do "Bubba Burgers" vary from regular burgers?
CAROL - how many days until your retirement? Izzy and Lori are also counting down the days to their retirement. What's the first thing you are going to do? It sounds strange, but almost everyone I know ended up cleaning out all their cupboards and closets and cubbies! But WE took a four-month trip around the country in our fifth-wheel. And THEN I cleaned out the closets!
TINA - how were your folks yesterday when you visited? and how are you feeling?
well, I am off to shower and get ready to go for breakfast out with DB, Jim & Terry. When Mary Q and Sue were here we had a campfire and then BBQ'd burgers. Jim & Terry came over for that and got to meet the girls. It was like one big happy family!
Happy Mother's day to you all!!

Re: SUPPER CLUB - MOTHERS DAY, May 8th
Good morning,
Mary - I know the feelung and staying in to sew. Now that additional heat has been added by my sewing, I could stay there a long time. All that is still needed is the bathroom under the stairs. I even have a small refrig down in the Batt Cave. Humm, a small microwave would be good too.
Dinner is one of the favorites around here, banned PNW treat, bbq'd, rice pilaf, asparagus and dessert. Matt and family are coming here to cook it for me. They clean up too! So I will play with Baden, while they cook.
Stu will be skypeing with us later this afternoon.
Happy Mother's Day!
Enjoy,
Jana

Good Morning Everyone!
Happy Mother's Day!
Tonight's Dinner will be steak, baked potato, salad and broccoli.
We went to Mass this morning then came home to blueberry muffins, a vegetable and cheese omelette, and fresh strawberries. Then I cooked some ground turkey I had purchased and made Stuffed Pepper Casserole to put in the freezer.
Maryz - I have four weeks left to work then we go on vacation to the Grand Canyon. Afterwards my first thing to do is clean house and have carpal tunnel surgery. Not quite what I had thought I was going to do, but doing what is neccessary.
Jana - You have just about everything you need now that you have heat. It must have been a bit chilly down there this winter.
Becca - Our little birds have built another nest, so soon there will be more birds. At this rate we will have a whole flock of finches! It is a beautiful day here today too, we got a spritz of rain yesterday and we may get more showers today, but it is lovely.
Have a beautiful day everyone!
Carol

Re: SUPPER CLUB - MOTHERS DAY, May 8th
DH just came to me and asked if we could have grilled chicken and leftover rice for supper. It occurred to me that I never talked food today - at least I don't think I did. So now you know. And I gave him a kudo for taking the reins and planning supper! What a treat!
BECCA, my nephew and his wife, who live mainly here, also have a mountain cabin in Idaho about 100 miles north of Boise. They also have a lot of wildlife and their favorite is a fox. My niece boils eggs to put out for them.
CAROL - when your retire and have your carpal tunnel surgery, will your medical insurance follow you into retirement?

Happy Mother's Day to you all!
Mom and Dad are doing pretty good
she even cooked us all an actual meal yesterday! Sausage with sourkraut, fried potatoes and green beans, is was totally yummy! Holy pulled and cut the potatoes up but she did the rest. She even loaded her dishwasher after! Holy had made a chocolate cake so we all had a piece
She still says they are going to try to move here as soon as we can find them some property with a well and septic on it.
Frankie is taking me to the movies and then out to eat for Mother's day. We're going to see Civil War where Captain America and Iron man are against each other. .. he's not crazy about movies like that but I am
I actually got my house vacuumed, mopped and dusted today and all the dishes are done, even made some imprints of Jaz, Easton's and Preston's feet and hands where there was room.... they're in the oven baking. ...I sure hope they turn out good

Maryz - My DH is still working full time and his insurance covers me. Otherwise I am not covered as a substitute teacher.
