SUPPER CLUB - Thursday, Feb 4th

Post by purrfect-lady » Thu Feb 04, 2016 6:34 am

Good Mornin'!

can't stop to chat. And I'm REALLY sorry about that! lol! Been too busy cooking! Last night was tacos. This morning is bacon, hashbrowns, eggs, toasted bagels. Tonite will be turkey noodle soup. These relatives of mine EAT! Not used to so much cooking - and cleaning up the kitchen. but enjoying them nonetheless.

My brother is in a LOT of pain. Pain meds and parkinsons meds are at odds with each other. We're hoping he is a bit improved today. My middle brother's tests came out clear enough that no surgery for him - at least not now, but more tests in March. Thanks for all good thoughts and prayers!! Love you guys!

Gotta run,
mary

Good afternoon from overcast, looking like snow, SW. Pa...Yep our spring like weather has left us and now it's back to winter, for awhile.....

Mary, so happy to see you back, if only for a "drive thru"..Was very glad to get that text from you this morning...Even Jim is concerned, not only for your DB but you...He said, she better be taking care of herself, (and you better be)...I can imagine you guys are feeling so helpless, waiting for the right meds to kick in, but it's going to happen...And always good news to hear, no surgery, for your other DN...As I told you, my knees are getting a work out, but so worth it! Cooking for the clan is a job but I'm sure they all are so thankful...Just think of the things you might find in your freezer.....

Jim and I had errands to run this morning...Of course Jim thought he was going to get out of it but I said, get your coat! I might be built low to the ground but I can stand tall at times....We needed to drop off the tax stuff, then go to Walmart and then take care of the Grand fur babies.....I'm changing the shade of green in the bathroom from forest to kind of a dark celery and olive...By the time I get it the way I want it, it will be time to change it back to summery pink....

Haven't decided on dinner...We did have meat loaf and baked potatoes the other night and there is enough for hot sandwiches and gravy...If not that, maybe one of the unmarked surprises from the freezer....

Happy eating..........

Eagle update:
The "bobbleheads" I the N. Ft. Myers nest are growing like those weeds...They are keeping the parents hunting for food...they probably weigh about a pound each by now and are so darn cute...Still white and fuzzy and trying to figure out what to do with those feet and wings....

Our nest up here is just about ready..The adults have been spending a lot of time, getting it just right for those long awaited eggs. In fact, both nests up here (near Pgh.) are getting ready...

The eagles have made a huge comeback!

Good afternoon,

Mary - glad to see the quick post and update on your brothers. Feeding a crowd is a huge task! Take care of you too! Hopefully sooner they will get the meds to cooperate.

Irish - thankfully I am as tall as Michael and so I can look at him eye to eye and give him the "look"! Works most of the time - LOL

Just went to my favorite LQS the other day and spent a ton of money, then in today's email, I get my Birthday month coupon for a savings of $20. Guess that Sarah, who got one too, need to go over there and spend it.

Dinner - meatloaf sounded awfully good, so that will be in the table. Weneeda run to the store to get a few things.

Enjoy,
Jana

Good Evening All......would like to say there is a change in the weather pattern.....there isn't.....so I cant.......

We had a lovely Posh Ish week end with our caravanners......just to explain.....we have ONE week end a year in a posh Hotel where we are waited on hand foot and finger.....and Ish is the name of our group....

we saw some friends we hadn't seen for over a year.....so there was a lot of catching up to do......there was gale force winds.....so we didn't walk along the beach....but guess what.....I found a Fabric and Wool shop.....aahhh.....you would have been so proud of me......I did manage to "obtain"some restraint and get just a "little" fabric.....you know.....fat quarters that can be stuffed into a handbag.....and 2 Large packs of wool that couldn't.....but found their way to the bottom of my suitcase....so with a hefty covering of clothes that had to be unpacked on the quiet...while Sir was taking his bath......no explainations were required.....and peace reigned forever in this abode....now I need more wool like I need a hole in the head.....but it was there and such pretty colours and.....and.... and.....Becca help me out here......sure you have my addiction too....well....I think you do.....

Maryz.....saw your family photos.....lovely.....glad to hear one brothers tests ok.....and do hope Jim is now out of pain.....

our menus are still unexciting.....mostly soups and crusty rolls.....I was giving my Full English Breakfasts away.....we have some fellas with very healthy appetites who soon demolished theirs and mine.....

so todays menu.....the F..h and Chip van arrived......so no cooking or soup today and a small helping of Rice Pudding for afters.....

Good afternoon!

MaryZ—HUGS to you!!! Sometimes it is therapy to be in the kitchen at times like these if you are unable to be in your sewing room. I hate sitting and waiting—cooking and sewing get me through most crises. That’s good news for your middle brother and your family not to have to get through two surgeries at once!

Lady Carol—I love the idea of a posh weekend!! So cool how you hid your purchases—we do what we have to do! I’m trying to use my stash this year and doing fairly well so far this year… There are almost 11 months left… just saying! Your dinner sounds lovely!

Becca—did I miss your description of a macular pucker How serious is the surgery? I know any surgery near the eyes is critical, but was curious as to what yours would entail.

Jana—when it rains it pours… gotta get those coupons used when you can before they expire! FUN!!!

Irish—I love hearing about your bathroom changes!!! Guess I should get some extra towels and make some changes here some times. That might shake the place up! You are a good eagle grandma!!! They are fun to hear about from you!!! We haven’t seen any around here this year.

Dinner here is vegetable soup with lots of “stuff” in it. I have some crusty rolls to go with it. DH can have a roll with jam for his dessert.

I have a meeting this evening and worked all day, so decided pizza sounded like a meal I can handle. Maybe I will even make a salad.

Maryz- Irish is right, take care of yourself while you are watching out for your brothers. Having all the family may be lots of work, but you sound happy to have them around!

Irish - Glad you can order Jim around. How is he doing with his meds?

Jana - Michael has new meds too? How is he doing?

Lady Carol- So good to see old friends!

Carol
