SUPPER CLUB - Fri, Nov 20th

Post by purrfect-lady » Fri Nov 20, 2015 4:39 am

Good morning!

We actually had a sunny day yesterday! Only about 48* for a high, but we were working so hard outside, I was in a teeshirt and didn't feel the cold. DH was riding the tractor so he was bundled in a tee, sweatshirt, fleece vest, his heavy Carrhart coat, gloves, and wool hat. I don't see how he was able to move! But we got a lot done. and 2 more days of sunshine in the forecast to get it all done. Then we'll be done for the winter. Possible snow for us by next week, We rarely get snow so I'm excited about that!

CHICKIE - the tree still stands. In fact, most of my outside work yesterday was cleaning up the mess from that tree - branches and leaves. You know, I actually like that tree and would hate to see it go, but I'd hate more to see it go over our house!

TINA - I'm not sure QIAD is listening to you. Their site is still screwy.

BECCA - I'll be on the lookout for the pattern. Was it usable? Like I said, I never even looked at it myself. I think I got it at the Goodwill years ago. (it was a Raggedy Ann quilt/wallhanging)

Supper was pretty good last night, when we finally got to it - meatloaf and baked potatoes. So tonite I think we'll have a rerun. But y'all will laugh at me. I was going to make this meatloaf last week. It was in the freezer but I couldn't find it. So finally made something else. then next day I did find it. Then lost it again. Last night I went to put it in the oven, set the timer, and went downstairs to the family room to watch the news. Came back an hour later, opened the oven, and the meatloaf wasn't there! I'd lost it again!!! Finally found it where I'd set it on a far counter. I'd never put it into the oven! Argghh!! We ended up eating about 8pm last night lol!!

I hope your supper isn't a lost cause tonite!

Mary--too funny about the meatloaf, but I know how you feel... I have set the timer but forgot to hit START... no food. Getting old is not for sissies... but I prefer to think my head is full of quilting and not dinner... I just hope my head isn't up somewhere in my parts!!!

I will be bringing home chicken this eve. Taking birthday cookie to dgd.

LOL Mary, I think that meatloaf didn't want to be eaten! ;-) Sounds like you got alot done yesterday! I bet anyone seeing you and Bill would've been, what on earth?! A Winter dressed person and a Summer dressed person LOL too funny!
Chickie, I'm always losing all sorts of things, you should have seen me last night! I prefer to think of it as having too much going on up stairs LOL
We're having more leftover soup tonight, fine with both of us! We're going to start our holiday food shopping after the boys go home and tomorrow will probably be doing the holiday cleaning, Frankie is off till the 30th :-) he takes this time and Christmas off every year so he can help me :-)

Good morning,

Hey, I have been forgetting to turn on ovens since I was a teenager! Now what does that say for me now I am getting older! Time to haul me off! LOL!

I have dinner in the crockpot. A new soup recipe - steak soup . Easy - sirloin roast cut into1 inch cubes, coat in seasoned flour (salt and pepper), brown and place in crockpot. Then add a package of dry onion soup mix, tablesoon each of tomato paste and worchersire sauce and 4 cups beef broth. Cook on low for 8 hours. Then add 2 cups uncooked egg noodles and cook additional 30 minutes. All the ingredients sounded good, so I am trying it. Nice to have dinner all ready done.

Maybe I will get adventurous and make a goodie.

Enjoy,
Jana

Hello to all,Gorgeous day here.

DS is doing hardwood again in upstairs so what a mess.Hammering sawing, you get the picture.Noisy but those floors look so nice & I did get some dust out.Oh my how it collects.

Maryz The pattern was all there.I copied it for later.Glad the meatloaf showed up.lolSounds familiar to me.

Jana Your family is busy as usual.Good you can help each other. Our 2 DGSs used to help us with everything & we miss them.

Tina If you only knew about what is going on upstairs in my head.Yesterday I took trash to dump.Had a bag sitting beside me to return items that were wrong. What did I do but throw them in dump.

I made a meal for DS & his helper. He is a young man from our Church. We had pork loin roast, roasted potatoes, baked sweet potatoes,& corn bread.Chocolate chip cookies, forgot green beans too. ..Becca
