SUPPER CLUB - Fri, July 31st

Post by purrfect-lady » Fri Jul 31, 2015 5:34 am

Hello from Talkeetna, Alaska! We have internet again! Yay for internet! Today we're taking a train ride north to a little town called Hurricane. (and back again!). We'll be gone from the trailer about 7 hours. The Depot is right behind the little RV park we're in.

We're going to breakfast with our friends this morning, taking a lunch on the train, and supper is a mystery. We MIGHT be invited to our buddy's for supper. They were making a big goulash sort of dish last night and invited us to join them, but it was 8:15 and we already had our own meal going. So they said maybe tonite we could come to eat leftovers. If not, I'll think up something quick as we won't return on the train until 7:30pm

Do you have your supper plan in place or is yours a mystery, too?

Hello Mary z & all,

Mary z Enjoy your adventures.Know it is pretty. My 2 DBs have been but we never made it.

Carol Was wondering on your tomatos how you remove the seed.My DH cannot eat them due to diverticulitis. Is there an appliance you use.I have one for making juice but it doesn't remove seeds.Your Salsa sounds delish.

Jana How is Ethan coming giving up his paciifier.Know it is hard if they keep it long.

Well got walk in,Beans picked & tomatos gathered. The garden is at my Friend who passed 1/2 mile away so you get your exercise & it is uphill too. Also got yard mowed.
Now to drink green tea & cool down..

Dinner will be grilled Pork chops, green beans with new potatoes, pickled beets & sliced cukes.Ice cream later.....Becca

Good evening! It's been a busy day here... not exactly what I planned... mowed in town, three loads of laundry hung on the line and brought back inside, watered and picked a few tomatoes and a few blackberries, and after a little R&R with a bowl of cold watermelon after mowing to cool down, I now have a blackberry pie in the oven. Still haven't gotten to the floors... I will do a quick swipe with a dust mop and do a damp mop Sunday.

We will have the left overs from last evening's chicken with the blackberry pie for dessert.

DH is out fishing, so hopefully there will be pond fruits o the table tomorrow evening!

Mary--hope you have a fun train ride and scenic excursion!

Becca--uphill both ways??? LOL!!!

Hi Everyone,
It is suppertime for some of you, but it is just mid-afternoon here.
This morning I picked up my Bernina from repairs. She is as good as new!! This afternoon I am making two batches of apricot jam.

Becca - Yes I have a stainless steel food mill. It doesn't remove every single seed, but does remove 99.8%. Check with your doctor on the seeds I know that they have changed their minds about seeds and nuts over the years, because my Mom had it. I have it too, but it doesn't bother me.

The pasta sauce was wonderful the other night and there was plenty of leftovers for the freezer!

FarmChick - I would love a piece of that pie!!

Mary - Enjoy the ride! Glad you have internet to talk to us.

Tonight's repast shall be leftovers of something!

I gotta get back to the jam, so I can get back to sew!
