SUPPER CLUB - Friday, May 29th
Good Morning,
Today, President Kennedy would have been 95 yrs old. it's also the 30th anniversary of my DH#1's death at age 33. He was a probation/parole officer and killed in line of duty. All the Dept. of Corrections flags across our state will be flown at half-staff today in his honor. 30 yrs - but seems like yesterday to the kids and me, of course.
And the way to deal with these anniversaries is to keep busy. and my Sweet William, always there for me, has a plan! We'll be cleaning his shop today. What a guy! I keep telling him my next husband isn't going to have a shop!
Oh, and to be clear - no way was I touching his workbench! When I cleaned the garage yesterday, I was going through all the stuff I have out there - my canning supplies, packing boxes and supplies, gardening area, etc. I don't touch his tools or storage areas. how dumb do you guys think I am??
Supper tonite - Mr. Bill has requested hamburgers one more time. It's supposed to be 80* here again today and he wants to grill. There is jello and I'll make a salad.
Not everyone is having summery weather, I know. Some of you are probably giving a big pot of hot chili a thought!

Good morning!
Maryz - it is good that everyone can honor our fallen officers.
Tina - I am with you on loco night! No wine here.
I need a night out. It is light here until almost 9:30 pm, so nice to be outside and no rain! We have warmed up nicely too. I have a potato salad to get made in stages of assembly for tomorrow. So take out from somewhere and go sit in the park and watch the trains go by. That is our fun around here! LOL
Enjoy,
Jana

Hello everyone, cloudy here & I love the cooler temps.
Mary z I think it is wonderful they honor him .Cannot image your grief.Know how devastating it was when our DDIL died in car wreck. You never forget. They all still have a hard time at Easter ,happened on Good Friday.Yes staying busy sure helps.Your Bill is very understanding.
Jana Cannot imagine someone not loving dumplings.Send them to me.They never go begging here.
Tina Sure you are excited that your summer starts very soon.Enjoy.
I picked turnip greens & kale in my neighbors garden. That with stew beef ,pickled beets,& DH has his cream horns left. Enjoy. Becca

Good afternoon from warm, sunny, SW. Pa...Another gorgeous day here in the east...And to make it better, the neighbor's 2 little grand kids are visiting and are having the best time in the pool...Nothing better than little ones squealing and laughing...
Mary, Such a sad experience for and your kids to go through...I think a tragedy like that, time stands still..Jim went for a funeral visit yesterday and brought home one of the nicest memory cards..On the front, there are 2 eagles, soaring high above the mountains and on the back, the verse starts, "Miss Me But Let Me Go"...I get teary eyed every time I think of it but it is beautiful....It's great that they still honor his memory...And don't you wonder what the country would have been like if JFK would have lived...
Tina, I too was wondering what she did with Bill, but I thought of flowers...But, Sweet William is all heart, what a guy! It's good to be Mary, most of the time, lol.....
That chicken that was thought of the other day will get defrosted and one way or another, it will be dinner tonight.....I'm not in the mood to bake so Jim will have to be happy with graham crackers and maybe some ice cream.....
Happy eating..............

I'm finally here...and we did eat! Last night Earl grilled again, chopped sirloin patties, sweet potato medley from market day and California blend...all on the grill.
But tonight Earl said Mama's...it is too hot and humid to cook anywhere..ugh...it is mid 80's and dew point close to 70...miserable.
Mary I just checked out your Dear Jane...it is just awesome! And after all that work, you put on a scallop edge! MORE work! lol! I'm almost speechless...
I'm with you...I don't go near Earl's shop...and wouldn't know how to start cleaning it! And I knew right away who "sweet William" was! lol!
