SUPPER CLUB - Sun, May 3rd
Good Morning!
We're going to 72* today - or so say the weatherfolk. But even if it's only 71*, it's still warm enough for me!
JOANNE - The Sizzler is a restaurant chain and we see them all over the western part of the country. They have all kinds of steaks. The steaks at our table looked to be ribeyes and sirloins but I think they also had cube steaks. I had chicken.
TINA - You were really working out there! I spent 3 hours in my yard yesterday with more hours to come today. It feels so good to come in for a nice hot soak after that!
JANA - you kitchen sounds so much more efficient now! I love the idea of lighted cabinets up high to show off your pretties!
G.L.C. - I had no idea there were so many plurals! I have heard of a 'college' of physicians though it's certainly not part of my daily speech! lol!
BECCA - I always think that mowing is the easiest way to maintain a yard. Maybe that's because DH does the mowing and I do the flowerbeds.
I'm not sure yet what our supper will be. We have quite a lot of cooked chicken so, despite it being BBQ weather today, we'll probably be dining on a casserole of some sort. Maybe chicken soup? Or could be a big old salad with chicken and garbanzo beans on it.

Good Afternoon to everyone,
Mary's Mowing is easier than other mantinance but a lot is left natural but there is still a lot to do.I love your letting the flower bed go to lawn and another level of yard.
Tina Your yard must be picture perfect by now. Here it is fight weeds even though we put mulch 4 ins deep.Think the one is getting smothered out.Yea!,,
Mary's That was too ad about DB & DSIL not coming to party.Know it was fun.
Lady Carol Keep the comedy coming. We need that in our lives.
Chick ie I think of you when I walk or stroll because of all your encounters you have on the farm.I just saw a chipmunk out of his hole.
We will be dining on soup for me.DH gets burger with his famous Butter beans he loves.Yesterday I made meringue cookies. We both like those. And we plan to take a drive in the country this afternoon & wind up at The Creamery for ice cream . Yum.
Have a wonderful day....Becca

Good afternoon from warm but slightly overcast, SW. Pa...I think I might be home, at least for awhile....Doctor's have decided, there's no more they can do for him at the hospital so he has been moved to a nursing home...He's on 5-6 weeks of IVs and really needs therapy..My "hard headed" sister has decided, when he gets to the point of walking with a walker, she'll bring him home and learn how to do the IVs..Right now, she can hardly lift her right arm, torn shoulder muscles, and she's thinks she's going to be able to bring him home, Geesh! But, time will tell...She's determined....
I certainly do appreciate all the "soup" from you gals..Right now, I'd even enjoy some of that split pea soup, (that I've never had, lol)....But, I guess from now on, cooking is back on the agenda..Funny, after not cooking, I still can't think of anything I'm hungry for, except cinnamon rolls, and you can bet, those will be happening before too long....
Mary, I think we have one of those "Sizzlers" around here somewhere or maybe I saw one when we traveled..Just in our area, we're getting a couple of new places..Always need some where new to try for lunch...And, our Sunday morning restaurant, King's, has been bought by a company named Kelly something or other, from California...Just hope they don't change too much....
Becca, I really think you should post pictures of your yard...It sounds gorgeous...AND not to be outdone, this morning, we had 2 gorgeous deer, right here in our yard...Of course, if they decide to chomp on the lilies, then the "gorgeous" part will be changed to something not too nice..
Jana, I did go back and check out the pictures of your kitchen...Wow!, if I had something like that I might actually want to cook, every day....Very, very nice....
Well, time for the Pirates (who have a habit of loosing in the last inning)....
I'm thinking, with the nice weather, dinner will be something on the grill...Not sure what but that's the plan.....
Happy eating...........

Re: SUPPER CLUB - Sun, May 3rd
Good afternoon! I’m beat! Literally and figuratively… I’ve been hanging laundry out on the lines in the winds while being flogged about the face, head and shoulders by my sheets, towels, DH’s overalls… everything in the wash has turned on me and beat me up. It is a struggle to get everything on the lines and keep it there long enough to get it dried. Of course, if it weren’t for the wind… the humidity makes 80 degrees feel unbearable. Oh well, I think I will try to get some sewing on my LUB and then bring the rest of the laundry inside.
Jana—love your kitchen cabinets and your RED ISLAND!!! How fun!!! I was hoping to get to see your stove, or did I just miss it?
Becca—we don’t have chipmunks here. They are so cute! My sister has them in Arkansas, but she doesn’t like them in her gardens. We have moles and voles, and the dogs do a number on the gardens and lawn when they are on their search and destroy missions. Armadillos are also a pain in the yard as they dig for grubs.
Irish—I hope you can get some rest and get to exploring those new restaurants! Since we have little around here, I taste through your descriptions.
General Lady—I have heard a few of those… definitely fun to learn! I bought Mom a TEA magazine, and there are scones recipes in it. I need to copy some of them and try my hand at making some. Aren’t they similar to our biscuits?
Mary—perhaps I’ll save my chicken for a salad… That does sound good!
Dinner here will probably be some asparagus soup. DH said he REALLY likes it and wanted some more when the neighbor offered us more fresh asparagus. There’s also some fried chicken for him and some grilled chicken for me. I’ll probably put mine in my soup… I’m sure we won’t be foundering… there’s also pizza left from the big one I made last night.

Well, the Reds lost this afternoon...
We actually got to sit on the porch today!! It was the last yard sale day...very slow. But we enjoyed watching the people. We didn't set up this year...I just couldn't manage it.
Tonight was Wendy's...and lunch was Mama's Grill..actually it was breakfast.
The weather is getting too warm...in the 80's and the humidity is going up...UGH.
