SUPPER CLUB - Fri, May 1st - May Day!
Happy May Day! I hope there's flowers in your day, even if you have to stroll down the road to stop and smell them!
IRISH - how good to have you back amongst the eating! So sorry to hear of your BIL's complications. Sounds like your support role isn't over yet. I'm sure your sister is very grateful to have you standing by. you must both be exhausted. If I had a cooking fairy, I'd be sending her over to your house in a flash, but we all know there's no fairies in MY kitchen!
TINA - I can almost smell all your flowers! And that banned food!! You really need to look the word "banned" up in the dictionary. you don't seem to be grasping the meaning of the word!
GENERAL LADY CAROL - a netful of knaves. When I think about that, I'm not really sure what a 'knave' is! Guess I better get out my own dictionary! I think a 'sentence' of judges is purrfect!
BECCA - what are spring onions? I know regular onions, sweet onions, green onions, scallions, and shallots. But I've never heard of spring onions until - well - until this spring! And only here in Supper club.
CHICKIE - so how was the turnip? lol!
JANA - I might consider a second wife here if she would do all the uglies, the yard work, and the laundry, so I could just sew . . . .
JOANNE - Do you even need to read the menu when you go to Mama's Grill? lol!
Last night my fickle DH changed the pasta menu to BBQ'd chicken and when the chicken didn't thaw fast enough, he changed it again to burgers. His was beef and mine was the Black Bean veggie burgers from Costco. So tonite, we'll toss the chicken on the BBQ. Maybe some packet potatoes/onions/cheese, and a salad. Should be a nice evening to eat out on the deck. I'll pop the chicken into a big Ziplock with some olive oil, garlic, and lemon or lime juice to marinate this afternoon.
What's hitting the plate at your house tonite?

Good morning,
Found some tamales in the freezer, steamed them and covered them over with mole sauce - my last from a favorite hangout in California. My neighbor, the airline pilot, had a run to the Bay Area and smuggled me home some in his carry on. Perks of being the Captain!
It is shopping day here - Sarah needs groceries too - part of us helping them save for the new house. But, grilling on the deck and dinner out there will be great - just have to decide on what. Grilled zucchini with Italian seasoning will be part.
Enjoy!

Good Evening All......gonna give the wind a miss tonight.......
Been bitty day today....but would be better if I could only organise myself.....
Mary....a Jack in a pack of playing cards is known(over here)as a Knave....bit of a naughty boy
Janna....looked down my list and guess what....a Nonpatience of wives....so you so nearly hit the nail on the head.....
Becca....we have those Spring Onions here.....we always served them with our Green Salads.....
Chickie....I am always checking out the Greetings Cards....I like to try and "pair"up cards to whomever I am sending to....and this particular card was one I came across.....I love this sort of information...it smacks a bit like history....one of my favourite subjects......
right ....next round......a Devoutness of Monks...a Side of Morris Dancers...an Ensemble of Musicians...a colony of Nudists...an Holiness of Nuns...an Execution of Officers...a Laughter of Ostlers...a Malepertness of Pedlers...a Throng of people...a Lying of Pardoners...an Assembly of Persons...
and now todays menu....Salmon Wellington(sorry Mary) Creamed potatoes...Peas and Tomatoes....Rice Pudd for afters(this is Sirs very....very favourite afters....I tell him its just a 4 letter word ....twice over.....

Since Earl hasn't been in the house this afternoon, to suggest eating out, I will have to cook. lol!
It will be bbq chicken breasts and sweet potato medley from Market Day..and a veggie..and maybe a salad for Earl.
Mary, I always read the menu at Mama's Grill..and it takes me forever to decide!
Carol, a knave is a Jack over here, too..but it's been years since I've heard it!
Tonight the Reds play the Braves...and the Amazing Race is on, too..but I will tape it.
Joanne
Edit: Change of plans! Mama's again!

Re: SUPPER CLUB - Fri, May 1st - May Day!
I am stopping back for a quick peek to see what everyone is cooking.
I am always on first thing in the morning (5:30 -6:00am) Too early sometimes to even think about food yet.
It's 4PM now, time to get busy and start banging the pans. LOL
Tonight we are off to go dancing, so I am going to have to get dinner ready a little earlier.
We had pork burgers last night, so I have two left over to reheat for tonight. Fixing a potato and a salad, maybe some broccoli for me (DH doesn't touch it).
You all have some good meals on deck. Makes me hungry. You all will be gone by the time I get my post entered here, but I will check back again tomorrow.
Hugs
