SUPPER CLUB - Thurs, April 30th

Post by purrfect-lady » Thu Apr 30, 2015 3:42 am

Good Morning!

Today is my little sister's birthday. The brat is 63 yrs old now. At least 'brat' is how I used to think of her when we were young. lol! Three days ago was my youngest brother's birthday. He was 77. He probably thought of ME as the brat! (probably still does!)

CAROL 7 - a CLOWDER!! That's right!! I remember now. and I remember the Big Bang episode, too! And the special cat's name on that episode was "Zazzles". thank you!

CHICKIE - you were right - the meatloaf WAS better the second time around!

JANA - I love it! A bunch of wives is "TROUBLE"! lol!

VELDA - my BFF's favorite pot-luck offering is a big taco salad. She cooks the meat (with taco flavoring) ahead of time and chills it. Just before serving, she mixes all the items - lettuce, tomoatoes, olives, etc, and mixes it all up with Russian dressing - which is very much like French dressing.

JOANNE - that's a lot of leftovers! You're going to have to start mailing them out to get rid of them! lol!

TINA - more banned food??? Things are starting to get out of hand here!

GENERAL L.C. - I think I'll make a quiche soon. Thanks for the idea!

but for tonite, I think DH wants something with pasta. That's easy. Though he may change his mind by this afternoon. He often does and I try to acccomodate if it's reasonable. But for now - put me down for something 'noodley', sauce yet to be named. and a salad.

what are you 'noodling' around for your supper?

Good morning from a semi sunny, slightly cooler, Sw. Pa...Oh well, we can't have sunshine all the time, right? BUT, the next few days are guaranteed to be purrrrfect.....

It's been quite a week and yes I've eaten, maybe not right but we've eaten...My DBIL had his surgery on Monday and came through very well until he had a reaction from the meds...Then the "infection" doctor had to put a damper on things also and tell us, they really don't know what type of infection they are battling and what he had done might not work...Gave a few other things they might have to do but in the end, might have to take the leg.....Not exactly what you want to hear! But, some how, you manage to get through it...My sister is another one that believes in miracles.......

So, that's been my week so far and as far as cooking, not much...We've been hitting the snack shop quite often and poor Jim has been fending for himself, more or less....He's going to bingo and on my way home today, I think I'll pick up something that, hopefully, will tempt the taste buds......

Mary, noodles, one of my favorites, well, along with the meat loaf and there are some others I guess I could name, lol.....

Happy eating.................
It's going to be a good day......

Easton is just starting to close his eyes so I'm sitting still for a few minutes and then hopefully popping into my sewing room :o) I was outside watering last night and my backyard smells heavenly with all the roses and other flowers blooming! When I was in the front yard it smells sooooo good too, I have Mexican Elderberry trees in full bloom!

Hello All,
These sunny warm days are beckoning me outside to work in flower beds and potting.Hoping all these flowers do well.Should have a pretty yard and porch.

Irish prayers for DBIL and DS.Know it is a trying time for all.

Mary'z on the violets they are not the same. These look like an orchid almost, very pretty and dainty. They grow wild here & I transplanted them to one of my beds years ago.

We have been eating ,but getting home late everyday makes for a quick dinner,so last
Nite I cooked a pot of pinto beans. Will add cornbread .Spring onions on side.DH found a box of doughnuts & fritters on sale in grocery store. This is after we had already stopped at bakery for his cream horn. His Dr told him sweets were fine. I wanted to disagree.

Have a great Dinner and Carol keep the meanings coming. Becca

Well, we went out to get a "Catch of the Day" but it got away. DH said he would eat the half of a hot dog he knew was in the fridge and I could have a turnip. What a guy!!! He will do better than that, although he may get the hot dogs and I'll go vegetarian. Maybe chef salads...

Carol--where do you find all that information? And, may I ask... what are egg chips???

Mary--if I would make a meatloaf, I wouldn't have to go out trying to find a catch of the day. Pasta does sound good... maybe pasta and salad...

Jana--When I read that about the wives, I thought BIG TROUBLE for someone!

Tina--when the wild plums were blooming here, it was a heady fragrance. I enjoyed being out and inhaling as deeply as I could. Funny thing, DH couldn't smell it; but I am the one who can't smell much of anything--probably too many sinus infections--but I could really smell the plums.

Becca--I think if DH had to give up sweets he'd not last six months. I try to watch him, but sometimes... let's just say I go off the wagon with him.

Enjoy!

Good late afternoon!

Still don't know dinner - plans changed around here - we went out all day looking for a grass catcher for the John Deere - way too expensive for the use it will get here - we just want to scoop up the dandilions - we mulch the rest of the grass - so didn't buy one.

General Lady Carol - the kids all laughed about the batch of wives - all told me I should have said instead of trouble - a batch of wives are called Mormons! Being one - I laughed! Only one wife in this house!

So I am off to finally get to sew!
