SUPPER CLUB - Sun, April 19th
Good late morning!
I didn't have time to post this morning because, ironically, I was eating! Had early breakfast with my brother and took our friends along. When we got home, last minute visiting and then they hitched up their cargo trailer to their truck/camper outfit and finally pulled out about 11am. What a nice visit. What special friends. wish they lived closer than 375 miles!
Betsy gave me a knitting lesson. I'm hoping it 'takes'. I've sort of been toying with the idea of trying to learn for some time now - as if I need one more hobby! I already need a mini-me to get stuff done now!
I have good cooking news here - Betsy left us her homemade spaghetti sauce. And we have leftover cooked noodles, too, so we're good to go for supper tonite! I'll add a salad and we'll be in fat city!
Today's half over, I know, but hoepfully you have a supper plan to share with us?

Re: SUPPER CLUB - Sun, April 19th
Good afternoon,
Home from church and my lunch is cooking - I am starved! Like I don't need to miss a meal now and then! LOL
Dinner tonight is my old standby - tortilla soup. I think I will maea batch of cheddar bay biscuits too.
Off to eat and put my feet up!
Enjoy
Jana

MaryZ--I have a basic knowledge of knit and purl but not much more. I wish I could make a big sweater like a friend made once. She gave it to me because it was huge on her, and I wore it until it was just a few threads. I even sewed patches on the elbows and kept wearing it! The hugeness was part of what I loved about it. I could use it like a blanket! One of these days... I can't read patterns for knitting or crocheting. They are like foreign languages to me. I have crocheted afghans once I was shown the way to make them. Wish I could remember the patterns now. That was BQ--before quilting!
Sounds like you had a fun morning! I made sausage gravy and biscuits for DH and an omelette for me with fresh asparagus and "store bought" peppers, onions and tomatoes. I've finally gotten the dishes done, fed the washer and dryer again and came in from feeding some of the cows some range cubes (cow treats). There were four of the cows lined up at the gate; I saw them from the sink while doing dishes. Of course, I let the dishes soak and went right out to play with my cows! I fed one batch of cubes to them and walked back toward the house. I heard "Mooooore!", so I got more treats and went back to The Girls.
Oh! I saw my first hummingbird Friday at my feeders and another one today. Apparently the male scouts are checking me out.
Jana--I could miss a lot of meals and no one would notice! Food just TASTES so good! Maybe that's our problem... if we had yucky, ill-tasting food we could follow a diet. Sure wouldn't be fun! I enjoy eating food that tastes good!
So... ENJOY!!!
EDIT: Forgot to say what's on the menu here this evening... probably cream of asparagus soup and grilled cheese on sourdough sandwiches. If not grilled cheese, then ham and Swiss on chibatta (sp?) rolls.
