SUPPER CLUB - Wed, Feb 11th
I think it's Wed. But I KNOW it's Feb 11th. Valentine's is getting closer. It's also our anniversary. I think I'll make DH a big batch of oatmeal raisin cookies and we'll have a special home-cooked meal. Maybe lasagna since it's his favorite meal. IRISH, do you still have any of those leftovers you can mail me?
CHICKIE - you know I'm not much of a meat eater either, but that pork loin, especially if it ends up pulled and BBQ'd, sounds pretty delish to me. And yes, we'd be breaking out the pontoons for the 'Fox if the lawn pond creeped up any closer!
JANA - it's begun!! It must be so exciting for you. Maybe less so as the weeks wear on, but keep your eye on the prize!
BECCA - Yes, my dad's nickname for my sister and me was always said with affection as in, "What did you Little Warts do today?" I hate to think what he called my older brothers - 3 little boys in 3 years. And they were mischief-mongers! lol!!
JOANNE - I can't think of anything about those baby octopusses (pi?) that I can print here. But the thought of them puts the thought of my Cheerios right out of my head!
Last night our pizza was pretty hearty so we have half of it left. I'm planning on that for supper tonite. But we need to hit Costco this afternoon so plans can change. Plus when DH goes scrounging for his lunch it might disappear.
Who has a special Valentine dinner plan?

Good morning from sunny but cold and getting colder, SW. Pa...By the weekend we going to be - something and that ain't good!
Mary, Of course I still have lasagna...Watch your mail! Of course raisin/oatmeal are my favorite so I'll trade you....Yesterday on our outing, we stopped at Marketplace and I was so disappointed...I had often order Marketplace stuff from our local high school and although the store was brand new we walked out without buying anything...I had my tummy all set on those little apple dumpling things and they didn't have them....But, we did stop at a well know Italian grocery store and got 3 dozen Italian eggs...Other than being sold at an Italian store, not sure if they actually came from Italian chickens...But, these eggs are about twice the normal size and really, really good...We don't have a Costco near by but wish we did...I like it better than Sam's Club....
And so I'm thinking dinner will be breakfast, poached Italian eggs, pork sausage links and toast...Now that should really confuse the old boy.....I like to keep things hopping at this house, lol.....
Happy eating..................

Hi Mary and "Irish".
I didn't get to post yesterday. We had comfort food: Noodles and chicken. OOOOh sooooo good!!! Tonight, we are eating out with friends, so my left overs will be good again tomorrow night.
It is a very, very pretty day here. Finally we are having the weather that we came south for. I have sewing group today. Lyn just stopped by to tell me she was off "mac n cheesing" today. Guess they didn't have very good luck yesterday. Hope today will be different in a very GOOD way!! Lyn looked so nice in her pink hat and pink shirt. And little Mini looked like she was ready to go.
Happy Anniversary, Mary!! Hope you have a great day and get to celebrate.
We are going to plan steaks on the grill for our Valentine dinner. For dessert, I plan to make the "cake in a mug" made in the microwave and a spoon of Cherry pie filling (no sugar) over the top.
Sounds so good, it's making me hungry already.
Better be off to get my stuff ready for our sewing day at the club house. Happy cooking and eating today.

Good morning,
We got a new small microwave last night, so I can defrost and heat my coffee, that is if I drank the stuff! LOL I still have my stove and sink, I am hoping and praying they leave it for a while longer. No counters, but I have portable ones, TV trays, you'd be surprised at how ingenious you become.
Rwz
So dinner tonight will be chicken something.
I have beautiful weather here today, bright and sunny. Not a cl oud in the sky. We have warmed up already to above 50, and it is only 10 am.
Mary - Happy Anniversary! Any special dinner plans?
Irish -Sarah has chickens and I am now so hooked on fresh eggs. We have 11 chickens, so they keep us in eggs.
Got to scoot,
Enjoy,
Jana

Good afternoon! Happy Anniversary Mary and Bill!
Yep, pulled pork it is. I had DH get some buns on his way home yesterday. There’s enough left for dinner. I have a loaf of banana bread in the oven now. Sounds like all I need to do is fix a salad to go with the sandwiches and banana bread for dessert.
I don’t like calamari… squid and octopus by another fancy name. It is like chewing rubber bands and the more I chew, the bigger and tougher they get. Gak!!!
No special Valentine’s plans here. I’ll have to do something nice as I’m bailing out on Friday night to go to a visitation. My DD’s best friend’s mom passed. The visitation is a couple of hours from here, but I want to go. I used to work band concession stand with them when the girls were in junior high and high school. She was a fun lady!
Jana—we are 44 and windy here. It’s only going to be 35 tomorrow. What happened to the 73 from the other day? CRAZY! Know you will love your new kitchen! After the fire we “camped in” with a crock pot, microwave and electric skillet (and the bathroom sink) until DH could get a kitchen put in the little house that’s now a rental. Mug cake is surprisingly yummy.
Mary and Irish—I’ll be intercepting the mail as the parcels fly over my state. DH would be happy with the cookies especially. You are right… the two times I’ve been in a Costco I liked it much better than Sam’s. I’ve never seen Italian eggs.
Enjoy!
