SUPPER CLUB - Fri, Feb 6th

Post by purrfect-lady » Fri Feb 06, 2015 3:56 am

Good Morning! The rain stopped! It's still soupy wet outside, but it's not coming down wet - at the moment. And it's a balmy 55*. I just don't get this winter. It's crazy weather everywhere!

I saw another FB post from Lady Carol yesterday. I ask her if she's been getting enough 'supper' lately, hinting to her that she is missed.

JO, I thought of a few more things I used to do with hamburger. Not sure why I haven't made them lately - BBQ Pie where I brown the hamburger, add BBQ sauce to it and some sliced green onions. Put it all into a crust - any kind of pie or biscuit crust will work as will a pie tin or muffin tins for individual servings - top with grated cheese, and bake it. Kids loved it! I also used to make meatballs, cook them, and then put them, with pineapple chunks, coarsely chopped green pepper and onion into Sweet and Sour Sauce and serve it over rice. I also used to make hamburger, cheddar, and bacon pizza.

I'm debating on tonite's supper. I have 2 frozen pork chops. But I also have some turkey kielbasa left that needs eating up. I can't decide so early in the morning!

I hope the decision is easier for you!

Just sitting here waiting on the clock. We are leaving for shop hop today at 10AM. I'm all dressed and ready. I hate sitting around waiting on time. Thought about getting my hand stitching (binding), then changed my mind.

So, I thought I would pop back in and see what's up for dinner tonight.
DH took us out for a burger last night after my day of shopping. Tonight, I am fixing a skillet dinner with ground turkey.

We like Potato Strogranaff and it usually gives us two nites of dinners.
Pair it with a Salad and vegi and Cherry/fruit cocktail jello and we have a really quick and hearty meal.

I am really looking forward to our shopping day again. Need to get all my ideas organized into a paper folder, so that when I get these quilts done that I am presently working on, then I can easily look and choose what my next project will be.

I am thinking about making a casserole dish cover that I saw video on Facebook. Looks pretty simple and I bought some "D" rings to use for it. That would be a neat fast project to work on after the quilts are finished.

OK, everyone, eat hearty today and have some quilting fun as well.

Good morning from cold, cold, SW. Pa....But, good news, it's going to warm up, might even hit 40 by this weekend....
Mary, I'd love to have your weather soggy or not.....Isn't it funny, when you think back at some of the dishes you "used" to make or eat...My Mom would come up with some things that would make you wonder but were so darn good...Often my sister and I will talk about different recipes but Mom didn't use recipes, kept all those secrets to herself....
I also think there are days when Jim wonders where I got my recipes and there are some, he'd like for me to forget, lol.....
So advice for the day, Write down those good ones, kids would love to have them in the future.......
So glad you've been in touch with Lady Carol....I really, really do miss her and her way of writing.....Sure hope things work out and she'll be back at the table real soon......

Velda, sure wish I was sitting and waiting for someone to pick me up, especially for a shop hop (which I've never been to)...I lead such a boring, sheltered life, I need a little excitement.....Enjoy every minute of your day......

And for our dinner and no it won't be lasagna...Most of it is in the freezer and a little left for tomorrow but for today, Oh boy, haven't really thought about it....Might do a casserole or might actually make the real mac n cheese....It's lunch time now and I can't tax the brain by thinking too far ahead.....

Happy eating.................

Good morning!

The baby shower is tomorrow afternoon. We are almost ready! LOL I have pineapples to slice up and rinse off the strawberries. We are making a batch of rice krispie treats that will be sliced and one end dipped in pink candy melts. Crenda is doing the spinach chicken salad and mint brownies and Sandee is doing up lumpia - egg rolls - they are yummy! All the decorations are at Crenda's - so I just need to show up tomorrow with all the goodies from here. A very busy 2 weeks of sewing - but we got it all done!

That Corned Beef is still waiting on me - I get playing in the Batt Cave and forget to put it on to cook - today is the day!

Enjoy!
Jana

Update - kitchen starts on Monday! I will be without a working kitchen for 4 weeks - at least I know for how long.

Here I am again..late for dinner!

I made a rump roast with onions and potatoes in the oven...and some peas and carrots...and biscuits! It was good..but too much left over.

This weekend it is to be 50 deg.! A little rain on Sunday...
