Finally finished the Cornerstone block and I am whipped! I am ready to go on to the next P/P blocked, but need a rest. The crud has it's grips on me, but I'm fighting back! Need to eat.

just love all the blocks!.."Abel's Favorite" A-1 (round two..WHO wrote these instructions! SHEESH!)AFTER I used Eleanor's flying Geese ruler and instructions and her triangle square up using larger squares for the "half triangle" short cut AND cut my 2 5/8 block and sewed the triangles around it AND THEN square that up with my 3.5" fussy cut ruler..I was ALLOT happier with the outcome!I will ALWAYS use a scant 1/4" and in this case I did iron my seams open when I sewed the rows together..anyway..it's not perfect..but I'm happy enough with it..:)..

..Thanks for looking! Sonya..God Bless all of you doing this...it's fun..but challenging even for us seasoned quilters...at least for this one!..:)If I nhave to stay up ALL NIGHT I am finishing week 2!!!

my only reasoning in using that paisley is it was brown..had some rosy-pink in it like the blue..and it was in my stash..when all said and done it is going to be a true scrappy quilt..:)and I kinda like it. :)

Sonya,

I am finding this challenging as well. However, I am enjoying it. I think it is partially the scrappy aspect. I also love to see how everyone else's block look. We all seem to have a slightly different take on it. I probably would never have tried paper piecing otherwise. I think it may have a place in my tool box.

Your blocks are beautiful!

Thank you, April..:) Your post made my day and I am now ready to plug away..nice to know we are all in this together....After getting some insight from a couple others, also..I think I know what I did wrong with that block (besides staying up till 2:00am working on it!)...I am going to re-do it and then explain once I'm sure..I do enjoy a challenge although it may be frustrating at times...but once I get it...then it's rewarding..:). I so agree seeing everyone's blocks and the variety..I especially love your cornerstone block..that one was what gave me the idea for the paisley in the center of mine...I was going to make it work..:)...after all..it is scrappy...can't be "wrong"...Thanks again, April...:)....Sonya
