SUPPER CLUB - Tues, Jan 13th

Post by purrfect-lady » Tue Jan 13, 2015 3:09 am

Well, last night's supper was magnifico! Tina is an amazing cook! And we dug right in to her homemade chili rellenos, beans, rice, and meat in red sauce! I wish we could go there again tonite, or that she would deliver to Tuscon - about where we'll be by suppertime. But guess we'll have to make do with whatever we can scrounge up in our little kitchen. I suggested baked potatoes with spicy lentils over them and DH gave me The Look. So moving on, I guess we will be having a one pan Rice-a-Roni dish with kielbasa slices and peas in it. and a salad, maybe.

Sorry to be so short but I gotta run! DH is ready to roll and I'm still in my jammies.

Dinner sounds fabulous! I know you had such a great time with Tina, too! I can understand "the look" when you've just had a feast. By the time you roll into your campsite tonight, you may be able to serve up about anything and he will be ready to eat. How are the furbabies doing traveling?

We didn't get to the steak last night. DH was hungry late afternoon and didn't want to wait, so we had soup and nachos. Then he didn't want a dinner. Steak, salad and asparagus are on the menu... just a big salad and asparagus for me.

Happy eating!

Chickie, the furbabies are doing well. Foxy was born to travel! Cats are in the trailer and they go through their flap into the storage bins for the ride, but as soon as we stop, they come out for their treats. Foxy seems very relaxed. Scottie isn't the traveler that Snickers was, as he wants to be on my lap a LOT. He's kind of big for that, but I cave in once in a while. He's a snuggler when in the truck.

Good late morning from sunny but still cold, 23 degrees, SW. Pa...

Mary, glad to hear the fur kids are enjoying the ride...We really should take our babies for a ride somewhere special instead of just going to the vets....And, another confession, I have never eaten a chili relleno..In fact, have no idea what it is...You see I don't get out much......

Last night's dinner was great and we're having more tonight...I made Bill's cube steak recipe and it's a keeper......

Happy eating.............

Our supper tonight will be leftovers from last night, they're Frankie's favorites :-) he didn't get any last night because of not feeling good. He's feeling better today :-)
Irish, I'd make you some too :-)
Chickie, I'd have to make yours more spicy :-) I don't use hot green Chile :-) but the salsa I have in my fridge is pretty hot.

Hello everyone,Rainy drizzley here.Hope to see sun tomorrow.

IRISH I too do not get out much & have no clue what a chili relleno is but not being a Mexican food fan or hot foods I do not think I would like it.My DH loves Mexican & hot foods.

I had to go to ENT Dr this morn.Appt was at 9:40 & he walked in the room at 11:00.I was just before walking out.He apologized.

So with that to set the tone for my day I tried to let it pass.Got home at luuch time & DH had him some hot dogs going.I had slaw & potatos made for him.I will make me a salad with banned food on top.

Tina--I know chilies relleños are not spicy... that's what pico de gallo or salsa is for. Mexican and Chinese are my favorite foods closely followed by Italian. I definitely like spicy, and I like the hot Chinese and Thai dishes, too.

Irish--I'll be ready when you come by! What a fun road trip that would be!!! Take the southern route and grab Becca--who-hoo! Here we come!!!

Becca--wow! You got a doctor to apologize to you for being late?--that should have been recorded! I don't like to feel rushed with the doc, but they shouldn't schedule only 5 minutes or less per patient so they get way behind like that!

Mary--so glad to hear that Foxy is a road kitty and likes it! (Not to be confused with sail cat...) Tinker Bell rides in back, but Odie only likes my lap if I'm not driving. If I'm driving, he is still in the front seat either by me or on my co-pilot's lap. He does not do back seats! Just ask him... well, unless I sit in back. He's spoiled rotten as you know.

I had ham that needed to be cooked, so I have a pot of beans and ham in the oven. Lots of choices tonight but it will be steak, beans, asparagus and salad. I had a veggie scramble for breakfast/brunch.

Time to get going... Tinker Bell needs to go to the vet for a bladder infection and a supply of her heart worm pills. DH will drop us off at the vet and go on to his dental appointment and pick us up when he is finished. Odie will go with Tinker Bell for moral support. It's quite a circus!

Good afternoon,

Oh, Tina - I love chile rellanos - there was a good Mexican restaurant in Concord and I would always order theirs and mole sauce - guess I need a road trip to California.

Mary - so glad that a second pair of eyes spotted the problem with pesky Jane. When we moved here, Perry surprised me on how well he did travel in the truck - all the trips to the vet always were a adventure.

Dinner tonight will have company - the missionares that serve in the Ward will be here. I am making taco soup and cornbread. Probably cupcakes or if I get going a lemon meringue pie.

We have "snog" - that is snow and fog at the same time. Slowly clearing up. It has warmed up slightly - about 38 right now.

Enjoy,
Jana
