SUPPER CLUB - Mon, Dec 22nd

Post by purrfect-lady » Mon Dec 22, 2014 12:51 am

Good windy morning! No rain here, but we heard our flagpole creaking and squeaking all night long.

IRISH - sorry that Jim wasn't doing too well yesterday. Hope today he is better.

JO - Have you by any chance posted your cranberry recipe cake recipe? It sounds delish! We sat and watched football yesterday, too. Both Dallas and the Seahawks won. Don't tell any of our Texan friends, but we were rooting against the Cowboys.

BECCA - my DH has lost weight, too, but I'm hanging onto mine for when the famine hits! We rarely eat any fast food, but when we do, it's Subway.

CHICKIE - I enjoy sauerkraut, too, but like it cut with diced potatoes and carrots. Ginger cookies are OK, but I'll take almost any other kind of cookie over them.

JANA - I read about your Daniel's adventures on the train. You must be so proud of your son!! Wish more people were like him!

My chili last night was OK, but it lacked 'zip'. I forgot to toss in a few pepper flakes. I froze the extra for one of those nights when I just don't feel like cooking - or for a travel day.

Tonite, I'm at a loss. Probably canned Chunky soup with salad and cornbread. I need to get up into the freezer and see what I can see. It might change to polenta parmesan or homemade pizza.

Hope you can see into your freezer and find something tasty for tonite.

Tonight I am meeting my younger sister and her Grandkids in Bryan for supper and then go look at the Christmas lights. My hometown of Bryan Ohio has the best Christmas lights in the whole world. I know I am prejudice - sorry. LOL

Good morning! We are drizzly here and 46 degrees. Glad that it’s not freezing! No wind. Of course, I’ll be staying in sewing. It’s just yucky, and I need to see the sun!

Irish—I hope that Jim is having a better day, too. The Steelers beat the Chiefs, so he wasn’t wearing black armbands. I figured that if I watched the game, it was a guarantee that the Chief’s would lose… never been wrong yet!

MaryZ—as you noticed, DH and I have found quite a few pounds since the last time you were here. I’m really going to work hard at getting it off after the holidays. Sigh! I had a famine once when I had my dental surgery, lost it all, and since have gained and not lost anything… hanging on tight!

I’d love to go Meatless Monday here, or meatless any day, but that doesn’t happen. Meatless every day would work for me, too.

The burger turned into soup again—so good! I added barley, mushrooms, veggies, tomatoes and some “zip”. I didn’t use the taco seasoning, just some Adobo and Chipotle. I have some cornbread to go with it tonight. I may freeze some, or just keep eating on it so I don’t have to cook and can sew for Christmas.

Sherry—have fun! Love to see Christmas and the lights through the eyes of the little ones… I miss having little grands. Hey, don’t worry about the prejudice—there’s no place like home!!!

Have a great dinner!

Hi everybody, We had lazagna and green salad tonight. I must confess it was a frozen variety. I'm wrapping gifts and trying to keep kitchen neat before travel. I hope everyone has a restful evening. Prayers to all, Abita

Good Evening All.......a rather wet evening at the mo.......

After doing a rather large batch cook and bake......Christmas shopping and wrapping.....birthday shop and wrap( our Willow was 6 on the 21st)and delivered to Cindy for the next leg of delivery up north to our Claire.....and finishing off the quilts needed for Christmas....I was hoping to report in that everything was now back to normal.....no....we don't do normal......Sir has now gone down with "man flu".....so I am now in my nurses outfit doling out all that "cold" medication and surrounding me with aromatherapy oils.....think I will do a runner into town tomorrow for a well earned coffee......on my own.....bliss.......

the consultants are pleased with Willows progress.....some of her 61 weekly doses of tablets have been decreased but as she gets wiped out with some of them they have increased the iron tabs.....

I have made quite a few fabric boxes to give as prezzies and was putting Herbal teas in them.....then someone on the UK forum said they were putting Chocolate Oranges in theirs.....good idea....cant go wrong with chocolate.......think that counts as quilters medication......

Maryz....will get back to you when I can draw breath again.......

Todays menu.....Bubble and Squeak with Onion....Eggs and Tomatoes.....no afters today.....will have some mince pies later with coffee.....
I am hopeful I will show up tomorrow.......

Carol
