SUPPER CLUB - Mon, Sept 22nd

Post by purrfect-lady » Mon Sep 22, 2014 3:24 am

This will be quick. my computer battery is dying. My Soup of Leftovers last night was great! DH really liked it, though he know's it will probably never happen again. there's some left and it will probably be lunch today. for tonite, I feel like Mexican food. Not sure what it will be yet. Maybe chili relleno torte. I made tamale pie a few weeks ago and DH didn't like it, so that won't work. Maybe tacos or enchiladas . . . Guess I better add grocery store to my errand list today.

In other news - I have none. I just got some projects organized to put in the trailer. And I made one potholder. That's about it.

So what's the word from YOUR kitchen for tonight?

The word from my kitchen is...HELP!!!

I have to do brunch before thinking of dinner. I still have some taco soup left so may finish it off. DH really likes it, and for someone who is usually not a soup eater... that's really saying something.

I am hoping to have my computer in a few days. I saw Windows 8 last night on DGD's hp--looks so foreign. I am sure I will get used to it--I am from the dinosaur era of DOS, and I remember getting upgraded to Windows.

I am working on a bag for my DD, and it is probably the most complicated thing I have ever done. I am ready for lining, closing zipper and shoulder strap. I was having such a time with one section that I made a mockup using two different gift wraps. Part of my difficulty was using a directional fabric the pattern didn't use.

Enjoy your dinner.

Good morning from "cold", semi dreary, SW. Pa....Yep, to me it's cold....Only going to 60 today but THEY say we're going to be in the 80s by end of week....

Mary, it's always those thrown together soups or meals that taste so darn good that never are repeated.....I think the only time I've ever had a yen for Mexican was a hard shell taco from Taco Bell and that's been years....I'm lucky to get Jim to try Chinese every once in awhile.....He always says, he likes to eat "normal" food......

Would you believe, the docs are now saying, Chris didn't have pneumonia but thinks the infection came from one of the tubes that is inserted in his lungs????The doc are really baffled...We saw him yesterday and he's no longer confused, just so weak, he can hardly get from the bed to the chair...And although the lungs are still draining, they are thinking of taking out the tubes.....
And, Mary, he has asked to talk to someone, thank goodness....

I'm meeting 3 other gals for lunch and then do some other errands...I hate to think of actually getting dressed and going out....
And we all know when I go to lunch, poor Jim suffers (yea right!)....Not sure what I might surprise him with tonight...With this "winter" weather, it might be soup and sandwich.....

Happy eating..........

I'm going to jump in here and say 'Hey' to everyone.

Mary, you are packing the trailer?? Did you change your mind and are you coming south soon? Thanks for reminding me about the potholders for SS. I found something for my person and have been so excited over that, I forgot the potholders.

I have Windows 8 on my tablet, but I think it's a pain. It wants me to update to Windows 8.1, but I keeping telling it no.

The Schwan's man didn't stop last Friday, cause I'm usually not here, but when I was coming back from town I saw him and stocked up on some things. I really like their chicken breasts (item 407). With that said, I think we will have either grill chicken breast or Almond chicken breast, Asparagus and some veggies to nibble on, carrots, celery and bell pepper slices.

I think I'm going to make some chicken soup for supper. I can put that on in a little bit and then when Easton goes home I plan on sewing some more on Mom and Dad's quilt :-) we'll have leftovers tomorrow so that'll give me another free evening :-)

Irish...our weather is the same. High of 64 today...but "they" also say 80 by the weekend..we'll see! lol!

Tonight is Dinner with the Pringles...at Smokey Bones...a steak and ribs BBQ place. Everyone will be there, so that is nice.

Last night it was Dairy Queen...I was a little disappointed in my chicken sandwich..usually their food is excellent. But we got home and watched our Reds actually beat the Cardinals! Whooo Hooo! No baseball tonight..so we can watch Dancing with the Stars "live" instead of taping it.
