Let me look & see if I can find a good Fall 10 1/2 block pattern. My kitchen is still a mess & my daughter & grand daughter is living w/ us now, so I have limited access to my sewing room..I'll have to think about it.

Traci- I am not sure how many 10 1/2 inch blocks are out there, but I bet you could make one up. I hope you will be able to get in your sewing room soon. That is always a frustrating thing.
I hope you will join in the fun as well as the rest of those considering. This will most certainly be a gorgeous quilt. :)

The block I'm looking at is actually called 'flower pot', but to me it looks like a basket :)
I'm hoping to get a chance to play with it this weekend...

Here is one practice block not in fall colors just some scraps. It uses the tumbler block to make the petals. I have another one in the making using the rose of sharon cut out too. I will post it later this week.:)
Still playing with it some:))

Maryz.. clear off the kitchen table and sew woman... don't let a little thing like remodeling the sewing room stop you.. come on.. you know you want to...

Traci, applique something...a squirrel or a basket of apples or something.. you so can do this.

Jacquie.. great basket, I love baskets.

Marcia, this is one to think about.

Sonya, great idea a smaller block with a border..

I found my pattern and have alredy gotten started..

Everything is all looking good here. I keep checking in. Vinae, we are painting and re-carpeting the house. At this moment, the only thing in my sewing room is a phone. All my fabric, books, tools, etc are piled into the tub and filling the bathroom. Tonite the last of the living room furniture gets hauled into my tiny kitchen or out onto the covered deck. Or down the stairs to the family room. it's like we're camping in our own house! And this is just the first phase! Next week, we'll move everything into the sewing room so we can paint and rip out rugs in the other two rooms. Scottie does NOT like laying on bare plywood floors! lol! He much prefers our white loveseats!

Izzy- that would be so cute in fall colors. :)
Chriss- I second that.
MaryZ- thanks for checking in. Sounds like you are making great progress and you will be sewing soon. :D

I won't be starting on tree just yet. Hubby's car just croaked and the repairs would cost more than the car is worth, so now I have to figure out what we are going to do. GRRR! Always something!!

You ladies are so much fun!! I love reading your comments and encouragments! Quilt in a Day Cheerleaders!!

I think I will do this swap, I found a block, Windblown by Jinny Beyer, I will have to modify it for machine peicing, if I do that. I may look through my Accuquilt cutters & see what I can find. Thank you all for the push!!
