SUPPER CLUB - Mon. Sept 1st

Labor Day! And we are still laboring here at home! Check it out. I hope you like what we've done with the place!

You can see, we've had a lot of assistance from Mr. Scott. And his driver's side (American!) rear flank is now a lovely shade of 'ecru'.

As for supper - leftovers from last night's crockpot chicken dinner. It has potatoes, onions, green beans, celery, and carrots, all simmered in herbed broth. Tasted so good after a long day.

Hope supper at your house is easier than it is at my house tthese days!

Good morning,

Mary - love your helper - mine were always the kids - on the subfloor in the Concord house, under the hardwood are 2 y/o shoe prints in bright green - Matt knocked over my gallon of paint in his bedroom and then tracked it up and out the front door!

It won't be long until cooking becomes a real chore - hoping that the cabinet maker will be here this week - then we will strip out this kitchen, and get the new one in. We will be pushing the Holidays, but I have all the kids near - so lets get it done! Michael is one that researches the hockey sticks out of everything before proceeding. I think I am there now!

Tina - I am with you on dinner - still waiting on breakfast!

Enjoy,
Jana

Good, Happy Labor Day to all.....So far our day has been warm and humid with dark clouds forming and not sure what might happen.....But, we take what we get, right?

Maryz, I love your new way of decorating, especially the bathroom....An just where is Ms Riley hiding? When we do anything around here, Baby Girl is right on top of it but Kelly is the one that hides under the bed....How about when you're all done there, you make a trip east and re-do my house????

As far as our dinner, that is up in the air as it usually is....We ran a couple of errands this morning and ended up stopping at McDonald's for "Big Mac" of all things....I'm not keen on their food but once a year isn't too bad.....As for dinner, the grill might be put to use...That is if we still have enough propane...We keep thinking, in the middle of a burger, the tank will run dry.....AND if that happens today, Subway is just a mile away......

Happy eating..................

Oh, Mary! Too funny! I need to do that to my sewing room and reorganize everything. I love your helper! Isn’t there a shop somewhere called Bathtub Quilts? For some reason I think there is. You will love it when it’s all finished and put away.

Dinner tonight will be the rest of the chicken. I didn’t bring anything home from the street dance last night. We ate and came home. DH was tired; he had cut down some cedar trees and piled the brush. I had vacuumed at Mom’s and just rushed around all day and was ready to put my feet up.

Have fun, and good eats, Everyone!

Oh my, Mary!! It looks like the entire house is torn up!! lol!!

Tonight was more metts on the grill..and a HUGE salad with lots of toppings. Neither one of us can even move, we are so full!

Since Earl's son and his brother both brought us green beans..Earl canned two canners full today...8 quarts and 5 pints. I've lost count and Earl won't turn down a bean! lol!

Jars are processing -

28 quarts marinara sauce with basil and garlic
16 pints dill pickle relish
4 quarts apple juice - just ran out of energy to do more this afternoon.

Now Sarah is cooking dinner - burgers and potato salad.

I am the chief slicer and dicer - lid and screw band adder - also dishwasher at least the kitchen is still clean!

Tired,
Jana
