I can see the picture. It is just too small for eyes to see the red. I actually have several of those fabrics also but won't be using them. Have some others that came from a noodle swap right here at the forum.

Here is one of my blocks. I am not totally satisfied with the green.
I think it is a little bit too light.

Not sure if I have any other substitute. I will wait until next week when we are at our son's house. If I get a chance to shop, I may find another fall piece to use instead of this green.

also: I hate that the colors never look the same in a picture. Oh well, it's the best we can do. LOL

i cant resist...ive got a million other things to do and just getting over a terrible virus but log cabin is my favorite block. i pulled some precut strips today and have 6 blocks almost completed. its therapy i guess since im supposed to be resting and not using my voice as my vocal cords are inflamed from the virus and coughing...im home alone and not even talking to the kitties! sew a little bit...rest a little bit...etc!

log cabin is my favorite block, the first i tried to sew,
other than that 4 patch...that seemed to grow and grow!

it might be in my blood, you know, because of where i was born.
illinois is known for lincoln, more that just growing corn!

i want the pickers hand to know, how happy i would be...
if some of these log cabin blocks, would make their way to me!(my attempt at poetic bribery!)

els log cabin book was my first quilt book purchase! its a real old book but sad to say...not one of her first editions. i also have her christmas tree and wreath log cabin books too! marcia

Hi Velda - Wonderful block if it was for any other Lotto but I think why you are not satisfied with it is because you have light on 3 corners instead of 2. If you turn your block to be the same placement as mine you will see which strips need to be changed. The darks you used are great!! You just need to add 3 more of them and YOU WILL BE SET as long as your block measures 12.5"+ A great first try - KEEP GOING!!!!

Valerie - WOW great, super!!!! Can you post a picture of yours for all to see. I know I always get inspiration from see pictures :) :)

WOW Marcia - you snuck in under me. How wonderful to have you joining us this month and you even included a Poetic Bribe - YEA!!!
Sorry you are not feeling well so hope you did not overdo it. Can you send me your picture via email and I will post it for you.
Happy Dance!!!

VELDA - You are sewwwww right. I changed the wording to say the Yellow stripe should be a LIGHT COLOR in my block and not read dark. THANK YOU!!! Thanks for turning your picture. You are also right in changing the two blues. Sounds like you know you are on the right track.

IF YOU ARE GOING TO CUT EACH STRIP This is how it should be - BE CAREFUL NOT to UNDERCUT - - - and USE your MOCK-UP Sheet that I emailed you all. Please let me know if you did not receive it.
FALL RED center square is 2.5"; Light is 2.5" square;
Add strips beginning with Red Sq underneath strip on Left (see pic)
Light 4.5", Dark 4.5", Dark 6.5" - - - Square to 6.5"
Light 6.5", Light 8.5" - - - Sq to 8.5"
Dark 8.5"; Dark 10.5" - - - Sq to 10.5"
Light 10.5"; Light 12.5" - - - Sq to 12.5"
Dark 12.5/8"; Dark 14.5/8" - - - Make sure WINNER can sq to 14.5

This is where you LOVE YOUR RULER. I like to add 1/8" to each one and square it up after every 2 strips that make a square. This is an easy block if you are careful in your cutting, stitching your fabrics edge to edge with a small 1/4" seam and squaring up.

PLUS I always cut the last strip at 5/8" to make sure it can be squared to 14.5" BUT Do Not Square Them Up. JUST make sure the WINNERS CAN :) :)

HAPPY STITCHIN'!!!!!!!!!
