Re: The Official Secret Santa 2014
Beth, I googled pot holder patterns and quilted pot holder patterns and got scads of free patterns...
you really could take any 8 inch or so quilt block, add insulbrite, add batting and backing and call it a pot holder.

Trust mary on this I too have scars from those made only from batting. Use the insel brite. UHM why would you put it in microwave? Just wondering. I thought pot holders were to take things out of hot ovens not to cook LOL:))) Just the blonde in me wondering on this.
Lyn I say post your house and the motorhome and hope for both LOL:))) If I were your elf I would make for both:)) only cause my book has 101 potholders and I cant make up my mind which to make LOL
Izzy

Re: The Official Secret Santa 2014
Okay I guess from everyone's comments, I must have totally misunderstood some of the posts.........
Read where someone said you had to use cotton thread cause of polyester catching fire............and cotton batting.........assumed it caught on fire in microwave......and that is what got my train of thought started. Didn't see how regular use of potholder would be in danger of fire, at least mine have never.
So you know what they say about assumptions, lol.
Carry on folks, I am on the same page now. LOL

Izzy, the wonderful thing about this swap is you can make whatever you want to make... and you can buy whatever you want to buy, and you can re-gift whatever you want to re-gift...
I do make some of my gifts.. and I love ones that are made for me...

Re: The Official Secret Santa 2014
I have to correct myself. It wasn't a potholder in the microwave, but a potato sack thing. You know, the pocket looking thing you bake potatoes in. I have put a potholder in my microwave, it's a long story.
