Removing Stains on a Quilt Top
I have an Amish quilt that has some stains on it. With all of the quilters on here, would anyone have some suggestions on how to remove them? By the way, it is hand quilted. Thank you all for any suggestions you may come up with.

The best spot remover is Grandma's Secret Spot remover - it is sold in quilt stores and here at QIAD website. It took out bright yellow highlighter that my grandson marked on a quilt that I had handquilted - the marks from the marker were there for about 5 years - took them out!

I'm thinking it looks like maybe coffee. It is all cotton with muslin backing. Thank you so much for your help! I can get it the local quilt store, right? I may look for it on the QIAD website if I can't find it in the quilt store. Thank you again!

My local Ace Hardware also carries Grandma's Secret Spot Remover. I use it for laundry as well as quilts.

Thank you all for your ideas. I'll check my Ace Hardware to see if they have Grandma's Secret Stain Remover. Never thought about checking there Farm Chick!

I have used a paste made out of oxi-clean to get stains out before and had great results. I get the powdered form and mix it with water, then put it on the stain and leave it there for a while. Then rinse it out and see if the stain is gone. If it's still lightly showing i do it a second time. Then wash as I normally would if it needs washing. If the whole quilt doesn't need to be washed just rinse the area and let it dry.

I agree about Grandma's spot remover. I also love our Ace Hardware. You would be surprised at the stuff they carry.
