Ok I think I am in....will try for 3 blocks a week....and post pictures....I found the book on Amazon used for 3.99 it came uesterday and was in excellent shape....never pay full price. I have always gotten good used books there,,,Teresa always buy used,,,once I got a book with a few wrinkled pages and once the cover was faded like it had set in a window.....don't care, so that is where i got the deal. my secret is out. I think I paid 6 or 7 for Dear jane, but I gave that one up as I didn't like the directions....this one at least seems doable...6 inch blocks are better, January it is. please keep me going on this project,,,,

will we be doing the blocks in order or will they be random....I go to Florida for 4 weeks and would like to stay caught up....but without taking my whole stash with me,,,,I could at leat cut out the blocks ahead of time and just sew them there,,,,that would be 12 blocks

I have been reading about the Civil War blocks in Izzy's thread. Some of the patterns I've saved, but not all of them. I also read the Loyal Union Quilters book. Our country has been through a lot of sad times in its history... more than plenty of them.
