SUPPER CLUB - Sat, August 2nd
Happy Weekend!
JO - I hope the steroids help! and that you won't have to take them for long. My mom took prednisone for years.
IRISH - Oh, nobody is picky in this house. Nobody wearing fur coats, that is. As long as they eat first and EARLY, they are happy!
BECCA - Happy Birthday to Levi! Our little wild blackberries are the best. The bigger ones, so much easier to pick, have a milder flavor so we add a little lemon juice to jams, pies, cobblers, etc. I ended up picking enough for a batch of jam yesterday! I got 5-1/2 pints. For my Autumn.
I forgot to thaw the chicken last night so we ended up with tomato soup and grilled cheese. a nice change from big meals. Tonite - we'll give the grilled chicken another go.
How's it looking at your house?
P.S. OK, here's a question - maybe Sarah can help with this one, Jana - If you buy the big jar of minced garlic in olive oil at Costco, how long does it stay good in the fridge? Since it takes me several months to use it up, I actually dumped it out on a big cookie sheet, froze it, then cut it into TBsp size squares and popped them into a Ziplock. I keep a small jar in the fridge and use from that.

Re: SUPPER CLUB - Sat, August 2nd
Good early afternoon from sunny, warm, summery, Sw. Pa...Yep, we're back to summer, gone are the sweat shirts and socks, back to shorts and barefeet......
I sure wish we had some berries around here, would love to make some fresh jelly or jam...At one time, the lot next door was full of black and red raspberries but over time, they've disappeared..There are a few blackberries but the birds get them before I get my bucket ready....
The last of my company left this morning at 10:00 and by 10:15, I wanted Nicky back...I'm not the only one that is missing him, "Baby Girl" is walking around looking for her buddy...Oh boy, did he spoil her....(When Baby wanted a treat, Baby got a treat)...I just can't believe they're gone!
And as far as dinner, there might not be any! I am not thinking about cooking, menus or any of that stuff you do in the kitchen...I've decided, if you get hungry in this house, you're on your own (at least for a day or so).....And you can be sure, no one will go hungry....
Hope your day is good....
Happy eating...........

Good morning,
Mary - you did just what Sarah suggested - freeze it in portions you use. As to keeping it in the refrig - she said until it changed smell - I like the freezer idea best!
Irish - I always hated when my boys would leave and DH was on his own for food too.
Dinner - I need to do grocery shopping and restock the pantries - plenty to eat here, just need to decide on something.
Enjoy,
Jana

Good Afternoon.,Nice cool day here.Another day of picking beans & freezing them.Left a lot out to cook for all the crowd tomorrow.WSish LEVI could be here.He put a picture on FBook .16 days left & counting to come Home.
MARYz I saw on a cooking show that olive oil needs to be used fast to keep the value in it for your health benefit. So I buy smaller jars.
Your jam sonds great.I did not get any this year.
Not wanting any leftovers DH wants Bacon & for me a tomato sandwich. And I will cook green beans.Got to ice my cake yet..Becca
