this months pattern for el is a log cabin bird house but different sizes than what teresa has set for ours next month. HUMMMM will try them both. I am thinking bigger is better hahaha

Hi everyone especially Teresa and Velda

Well, I actually was able to make 3 blocks and 3 snowball blocks and am off to the post office to mail. I hope they are acceptable as I am a newbie at this. Thanks especially to Teresa and Velda for their encouragement and support.

This was fun actually and I put my self first and the house is still standing and everyone was fed so I have learned I can steel time for myself and have everything come crashing down.
This has taken me over 40 years to attempt, but now I am smitten and watch out family Mom will have time to herself going forward. I hope this does not sound too selfish. DH likes to see me quilt and it is only him and I and I watch the DGS. This week he is gone so more fabric time, but when he returns there is always the nap time to play with fabric.

Thanks again, sorry no pictures, don't know how to do that. Hope the blocks are acceptable.

Velda - OMGosh! Izzy is right! Your poem does ROCK and I am am so THRILLED reading it over and over!!! It shares the essence of what a Lotto Quilter is which is why I am just tickled pink reading EVERYONES!!! They are such a joy and bring smiles to my heart. PERFECT!!!

Mary - Mary - Mary!!!! Your blocks arrived and I do have to say that you have come along way from when I started being the Hostess here. Your color choices are so cheery, your points are terrific and the back of your blocks are WOW! For someone who was having a rough start to this block I AM SO PROUD OF YOU!!!! You never gave up!!! This is why I LOVE the LOTTO. A place to learn, get help, practice, practice and then feel great at what you create

And lookie here!!! Patches (Tina) is off to a FABulous beginning and is already smittened with all of us and stitchin'. What a delight hearing you were able to make some time for yourself. You are allowed!!!! 40 years is a long time to wait and no you are not being selfish especially if your DH LIKES to see you quilt. How cool is that!!!! My rule of thumb for me is that if the bathrooms and the Kitchen are cleaned and the Living Room is picked up in case company comes then I am all set for my time. Plus if Mom is not happy then nobody is. teehee

3 blocks and 3 snowball blocks are a TERRIFIC start!!! I have no doubt they are wonderful and will be treasured in a winners quilt.

Jacquie got a head start on the Log Cabin and already posted them so before I start the post on next month I need to see them so we are in sinc with everyone. She is just so fast and/or I let the cat out of the bag to soon - LOL!!!! She FB'd that I should be receiving them very soon

Well, it looks like this lotto is going so well.

Love the poetic bribes from all. And so glad to see our newcomer has been bitten by the lotto bug. They are so much fun and a great way to learn new patterns and when you win............what joy.

Like Izzy, I have never done a log cabin, go figure.....so am looking forward to next month.

Have fun with this month's blocks, they are going to make a wonderful quilt.

Hi Teresa, sorry if I was a bit too quick with my Sept lotto blocks! I took advantage of the time I had sitting waiting on my Christmas fabrics arriving and just ploughed ahead making them I guess
I will be too busy this coming month making a Christening gown and Christmas blocks, no time for lotto blocks! I'm just glad I made my eight. I hope they're ok!
It never dawned on me that you may wish to change arrangements for the Sept lotto!

I hope I haven't been too premature in making and sending! Naughty Jacquie.
If there is a problem with them, please don't hesitate in sending them back. I can add them into an Autumn quilt I haven't finished putting together yet.They can certainly get used
