Apron Patterns

Post by Honeybrown60 » Tue Jun 03, 2014 2:44 am

I have just noticed that Eleanor always have an apron on to coordinate with the pattern that she is working on. Does anyone know if there is a QIAD apron pattern book? Think that would be cool to have.

El collects antique aprons. I am not sure if the are any patterns in her books, my brain can't remembrr - LOL If you look at the one you like, I am sure that you could duplicate it using a apron pattern from the pattern books, McCalls, Simplicity, etc. Just look for a similar style and shape. I have also seen iron on embroidery transfers too.

Fabricgirl,

I was watching hours of taped QIAD episodes from RFD. Some of the aprons she wore while working on patterns from Egg Money Quilts, American barns, etc.

I just thought the aprons were so nice and will probably have a buy a pattern and make it. Oh well, just thought I'd ask.

I've seem apron patterns in some of her books - I think Christmas at Bears Paw Ranch has one.

She demos an apron on one of the "Egg Money Quilts" on RFD. Can't remember what episode. It was one that I saved and put on a DVD. I wonder if you could find it in the video section here on the website.

The apron was a full front apron just like my Gram always wore. We all just got out of the practice of wearing aprons. It would be easier to launder aprons when we spill something. LOL

Just went over to the video section and found the video where she demos the apron:

That should take you to the right page. The demo is toward the end of the video. Hope this will help.
