SUPPER CLUB - Sat, May 10
I think our rain is easing up here. We had some real flower-beater-uppers the last few days. Starting tomorrow, we're in for a warm, sunny stretch. Nice!
CAROL - I didn't cut out all my pieces of my CS beforehand. I only cut enough at first to make one of each block to see if I liked it and to see if I cut everything right. Now, I'm kind of cutting at I go. Gives me a break in the cutting action and I'm less likely to get bored and pack it all in. I also swap around what I'm sewing. By mixing it up, I kind of keep the whole project 'fresh'. anyway, that's my M.O.
IRISH - you never win? What's all this "Luck of the Irish" rumors I hear about? Did it pass you by? My mom's family are McDonoughs from Galway. One of her uncles was so lucky that if he entered contests or drawings, other people wouldn't because they said he'd win anyway. Which of course, only increased his chances and his lucky reputation! I need to Google the rules to your game. We love to learn new games.
No cooking here today! Yay!! we're going to a steak house in Olympia to celebrate Bill's uncle's birthday. His wife died a few weeks ago and he has no family. We're it. So I told DH he needed to rally his sibs to help Uncle Ernie through the day. I'm off to the store in a few minutes to buy a cake to take with. I've got candles and matches stuck in my purse.
So my kitchen is closed for the day! Yay! Tomorrow though, I'll be back to scratching my head, wondering what to cook.

Good morning from warm but slightly overcast, Sw. Pa...We did have a little rain, bout 20 drops and it does look like the sun might pop out....
Mary, I might not be lucky in the "game department" but very lucky in other ways...Of course there are times when I wonder, lol....Isn't that funny about your Mom's uncle?
And speaking of luck, the sun did just come out, woohoo!
Yesterday, I was just about done doing my errands and I called Jim and asked him what he was hungry for...We have every fast food joints within a mile of each other so take your pick...Well, he left it up to me and I decided, Subway.....
Becca, that was the best Italian sub we had had in a long time and I thought of you guys the whole time I was eating it....AND better yet, they were on sale....
Today, we're on our way to the hospital to see Chris and then if my "luck" holds out, we just might have to eat on the way home...
I have a feeling this kitchen will be closed until Monday, sounds pretty lucky to me, right???
Happy eating.......
AND a very Happy Mother's Day

We are grilling boneless pork chops tonight (well DH does the grilling while I do the salad, potato, and vegi.
Keeping it simple. I had a busy day sewing and was blessed with a gift certificate from one son for purchasing more to read on my Kindle that he got me for Christmas. Another son sent me flowers that were delivered here about noon. Didn't get up town to get my mail, probably have cards from other two kids????
It has been a lovely day for me. Hope you all have a great Mother's Day, too.
