Tuesday, April 15
Good morning everyone.
Yesterday was a very long day. I did take the braid quilt with me to sew on the binding. We were at chemo for about 2 hours. They wanted him to watch a video on an IPAD and the IPAD would not work at all. Then when we were at radiation someone burned food in a microwave somewhere in the building. The smell got in the venalation system and even I got nauseated. Anyway, I did not get to work on the apron. I will probably get to that on Friday. I got my Secret Pals name this morning. How exciting! Have a wonderful day.

Good morning to Suzette, Lois and to all that follow.
We had a nice day yesterday
warm but not really sunny about 78 was the high. Today we are going to get rain then changing to snow
DH and I planted another garden last night but they under plastic so they'll be ok. More lettuce and some green onions this time. My chickens have free run of my garden area right now I don't know how they will like it when I only give there little yard to run in, they will be sad biddies. I go to the garden gate and they all run to meet me. The neighbors get a kick out of it
I'm taking my sister to the chiropractor this morning and we are going to stop at the local quilt shop
Emily bought me a Rapid Fire Hunter Star ruler for Christmas and got the large size and I had wanted the small and it has taken them this long to get it in!
No sewing but maybe later today
Keep looking up!
Vicky

Good Morning!
First of all a couple of comments on yesterday’s posts:
Cindyg: OMG so sorry you are having trouble with the hip. Hope you get some answers from the Doc.
Maryz: Wow what a treat that DGS cooked for you all. Having a grandson attending culinary school must be really great. I would be so proud.
Having my kindle does make it so I don’t have to find space for books. I am unsure about how long you keep the books on the kindle after you are finished reading. I don’t keep regular books forever after I finish reading, so I guess it doesn’t matter much. I have never returned and read a book a second time. Unless, I forgot I read it and just read it again. LOL I think that could happen with me. ROFL.
Izzy: Oh, my heart goes out to you. Can’t imagine that anyone would throw away something so beautiful. Just makes me sick to read your post. Wish I was there to help you re-do them.
How sad. Maybe if you post a “Wanted” poster, you might get lucky and they would be returned if someone took them. Do you have a nice group of project ladies to help replace them, if they are truly missing forever???
For today:
Suzette: Sorry about the smells of burnt food, yuk!! Chemo takes a long time from what you say.
That’s a challenge in it’s self. Two hours is a long wait. Time for doing hand sewing, I guess.
Lois: Goody, a ½ day off. That sounds great. I always found it hard, when I was a working gal, to come home after a half day and try to get started at anything. If one could start fresh in the morning, but to come home at noon, eat lunch, and then try to get started at a project, was always a challenge. Hope if worked well for you.
Vicky: I love the picture of the chickens following you. Sounds so cute. But I know you would just have to contain them. Can’t have them eating your lettuce and other sprouts.
For me, yesterday was very interesting. Sunday at church, the bulletin reported the quilting groups meeting on Monday mornings. Hmmmm! Of course, this was our first Sunday since we returned and we are finally settling in with this particular church for the summer months. I was quite excited to have a place to get to know some of the ladies and to feel like a real part of the congregation. When I arrived yesterday morning, I was welcomed with open arms. What a great bunch of ladies.
Most of them are not regular quilters, but join in this project to meet and layer and pin and tie these quilts for the mission work.
I was invited, if I wanted to stitch quilt tops to grab up fabric from their project room stash. Lots of people have donated fabric to their cause. I was so excited to be a part of this project. I can’t wait now to get my sewing machine out and get started.
Of course, I have another week yet until we are going to be settled. We still have to move our house to the dealership for the warranty work next Monday morning. I hope they don’t have to keep it very long, cause I have a big line up of sewing projects to get started on. LOL
I better get off here and get my coffee and get my breakfast.
Have a great day!
Velda

I think it's very cool that DGS cooks dinner... neat that he gets to follow his dream... I do have a great group of swappers.. there is still a month left in this swap so there is time...Vinae still has spots available in her swap.. it will be pretty.

I have no clue what my B&W blocks will be...still needing to get fabric... sorry about all the pillows.. I would have been taken aback by that ladies comment too..
O'Dorothy, it was Marilyn's first game and she loved it.. she was good about not asking for too much junk to eat.. she love seeing all the action so it was a good thing...just not something we will do very often..lol glad to hear the Schwan man came back.. I knew he loved you..
Kathy, sorry the post office is so expensive.. but those grands love your gifts,
Kathy2, you can spend that $34.. you go girl.. you will love the square up ruler, mine is a dream.

Suz - sorry about your hospital adventure. It's bad enough to have to be there but to have a bad smell on top of it just made it miserable, I'm sure.
Lois - enjoy the Dallas finale.
Vicky - I got the Rapid Fire Hunter's Star rulers at the quilt show but haven't had the opportunity to use them yet. I also bought the Lemoyne Star one and I did use that on my Christmas quilt. Loved it! I have a vision of your chickens running to meet you - LOL.
Becca - when I mail quilty stuff I put it in a plastic bag and then into the box just in case. That was so nice of you to rewrap the quilt and chase down the mail carrier.
Velda - I'm like you - it would be hard to get started at home after working 1/2 day. I'd have to eat lunch and then take a nap - LOL. Where will you stay while your RV is at the shop? I hope they don't have it long.
Grammie - I'd like to see your special sink. I don't think I've seen a curved kitchen sink before. Sorry your faucet broke and it wasn't an easy fix.
I'm at work blah blah blah. Same old thing. Did a load of laundry last night and then worked on my applique some. Still hurting. Tried to make an appointment with the doctor that DH's doctor recommended but he doesn't take my insurance. Back to square one. Talked to my sis last night and she gave me the name of my nephew's ortho - he was recommended to her by a retired ortho surgeon friend. I'll be calling them this morning. Gotta run.
I hope we can all fondle fabric today.

Re: Tuesday, April 15
Good morning! We woke up to HEAVY frost. Sigh! No sewing yesterday… I ended up helping DH with the fishing dock. I mixed cement and was the gopher and general helper. Sure was tired last night… and chilled through. It was cold out in the wind. I think I know what’s on DH’s mind. He wants this dock finished by Easter when everyone comes to dinner.
Speaking of dinner, my sister-in-law decided to come, and she decided to invite her and DH’s brother and his family because she hadn’t seen them since Christmas. This is the SIL who never helps or anything. So… the smallish family dinner grew… I’m planning my grocery list. I have a schedule of what I do when starting on Saturday, and I’ll get up early Sunday and finish it all.
Vicky—Grandma’s chickens used to run to the gate when I came down to the chicken yard with scraps and feed. I loved it, but my sisters hated being mobbed by chickens.
Judi—hope you don’t end up having to replace your sink for the faucet.
If I don’t stay here… maybe I can get some sashing strips cut… I’ll check back later.
Enjoy today!
