Good morning all! My meeting with my old high school friends yesterday turned into such a boring time. I wanted to find out about what everyone had been doing over the years and their families. It ended up being 2 of the 6 of us monopolizing the conversation about things that were not interesting or about anything we cared about. My mother taught me to be polite so I just kept my mouth shut, especially since the biggest talker was the one who invited us to her house. I am a talker, but I couldn't hardly get a word in and so after about 2 1/2 hours I said I had to go and left. I was so disappointed. I guess I don't have anything in common with them anymore. Other than one person besides me no one seemed interested what any of the rest of us do or our family. I don't mind a few stories about stuff I don't care about, but I hadn't seen some of them for over 25 years and wanted to catch up with them. If they call again I think I will pass. Thanks for listening to my complaint.

Lois - Hope your allergies get better soon. I know my asthma has
taken a beating too this winter.

Chriss - Hope your son's step-brother gets the job.

Judi - Loved your poem. When I made my son's Civil War re-enactment
quilt I told him I want it to be used, and when it got really
bad I would make him a new one. He sent me a picture of him
using it at a re-enactment. I agree I make quilts to be used.

Becca - Congrats on your cleaning. I have to get mine started soon.

Suzette - Hope your DH gets all the help he needs soon.

This weekend I am going to my son's new apartment in Goshen, IN. He asked me if I wanted to come and help him unpack his stuff. They are delivering his furniture today. Of course I said yes. It is so nice to have him close. His younger brother feels bad that he can't be closer, but I don't think the Marine Corps is going to build a base in Ohio for me. LOL Well, better go get some breakfast. Think I will have a bacon and egg sandwich and some fruit. Have a doctor's appointment this afternoon.

Have a good day everyone. Prayers for all who need them.

Sherry

Happy Wednesday - We are sunny and cold 19 but it is sunny!!

We are off to the doctor for a surprise visit as DH's legs are hurting and feverish again. So, might get a hospital visit out of all of this. Will let you know later.

Chriss - When you said they had a surprise meeting or something like that, when I worked it usually meant there were going to be lay-offs. My sister's work place meetings usually meant they were closing. Let's pray that your is something better than that.

Maryq - Zyrtec and Claritin don't help me at all. Benadryl is my go-to drug for allergies. This extreme pollen will last probably another week or so and, yes, it will come back in the fall.

Lois - I have a TV in my sewing room but if I really want to watch something I have to go sit and watch. If I'm sewing I only half catch what's going on because I'm concentrating on the sewing. Too bad I can't be like my DGS, Gavin. He talks on the phone, plays a game on the computer and watches TV all at the same time and knows exactly what's going on with all three.

Suz - what do you mean by "open season"? Am I missing out on something that I should know about.

Becca - I love cleaning out drawers and closets and the kitchen pantry. Makes me feel so light after I'm done. Also safer since I throw out outdated food stuff from the pantry. I call it "de-junking".

Kathy - yummy I love salad with chicken. Love chicken salad, too, but that's an entirely different thing. Sorry the movie was slow. I'm glad you had a nice evening with your sister.

Maryz - I know you are excited - you'll be sleeping in your own bed tonight. Have you heard any news about Warren and Lois? I'm just wondering what you'll find when you see them. Y'all be careful. I'm glad you are taking the safe route.

Judi - I'm assuming you are talking about the liquid Slimfast? I use to drink that - I missed chewing something for breakfast and lunch. LOL I've made up for it now! How nice of your son to take his wife to Hawaii. The thought of staying with the girls wears me out.

Scrap - you aren't even having spring yet, are you?

Chriss - two weeks from today is my DH's surgery. Time is dragging waiting for the surgery but when I'm having fun the time flies by. It just ain't right! LOL I'm just crushed that Maryz was so excited to leave Texas. :>(

Last night I appliqued. After work today I'll fix dinner and get the clothes out of the dryer and then I'll applique. Hummmm dee dum dum dum - nothing exciting.

I hope we can all fondle fabric today.

Good Morning Ladies!

Woke up feeling cold this morning, sure wish Spring would bring warmth. I noticed the Pecan trees are starting to leaf and that is supposed to be a good sign. Bluebonnets are in full bloom, but too dark to take nice photos.

Been working on Bonnie Hunter quilts and trying to rearrange my sewing room for the upteenth time! LOL always finding new stuff!

I need to get to the grocery store before all we have left to eat is macaroni and ketchup. Pie making is on the agenda for the afternoon.

Stay busy!!

Good Morning Girls

Another cloudy cold day... Can't wait to put the winter coat away!!!

Not much news to report from here... SSDD. It feels like a Tuesday to me since I had Monday off, but I'm much happier that it is really Wednesday--means I have 3 more days of work then the WEEKEND! My to do is quite long! Have to start packing up all the odds and ends around here to get ready for construction crew... at least start.. Definitely going to spend time in sewing room tho!

Lois... good news you only need glasses for computer work! Thanks for the reminder.. I have to make an appt. with eye Dr. for this spring--will need cataract surgery sometime this summer!

Cindyg.. Hope the pollen gets done SOON! Doesn't the Benadryl make you sleepy? I'll mark my calendar for 2 weeks from today, so I can be sure to add Don to my prayer list.

Sherry... What a bummer that your meeting turned out to be such a drag!!! Have fun at your son's apartment!

Chriss... I'd hate to think we could cause an earth quake in CA? You have enough already! I hate mystery meetings.. why do they do that!!!
We have a staff meeting every Monday.. It start with recognition of anything good everybody does during the previous week... then turns into a "b" session! Hope it's GOOD news!

Judi.... glad Ken is feeling better--at least the whining and groaning is over!

Maryz HOME SWEET HOME!!!

Suzette... Insurance in a nightmare!!! I'd like to get the guys who came up with Medicare Part D in a room and throttle them. They made the plan the most confusing for people the least able to understand it. Even tho your son won't be Med D... there's so many choices out there and the bottom line is the best coverage will cost the most! Hope he finds a good plan!

Becca... did you ever hear about my job jar? I put little jobs on pieces of paper in a jar.. then the plan was to draw one out every weekend and get 1 project done! I even put blank pieces in so if I drew out a blank it meant I didn't have to do anything! Cleaning closets and cupboards is in the job jar! haven't done one job yet!
This weekend I'm cleaning out the pantry closet and packing up all room mates food!

Kathy.... prayers continue for Kim.

Time for me to fly...
Wishing you all a most wonderful day!

Good morning!

Today's weather - old stuff - cloudy and overcast with a chance of snow and definetly rain. We reached 75 yesterday - today if we are lucky 50! Oh well, at least the mountains look pretty all snow covered.

I have only 1 block left to make for the El's Kitchen quilt. Problem is that I need another green - will have to look in the stash to see if one will match what I have been using. I want to get this done and maybe some lotto blocks, then I have to take my machine in for a cleaning - it has been awhile and she does get used quite a bit! LOL

I will babysit later this morning for my little grands - not too many more times - Logan has progressed with his speech to where he is almost at age level with just a couple of sounds that give him a problem.

We have to teach the boys that doors are meant to be closed - after you go through them. Emma is quite mobile and the minute she sees or senses a door open - out she goes! The subdivision is still under construction - so it is dangerous for a 14 month old.

One Ethan -ism - yesterday he took his booster seat from the table and placed it on the Grand Piano bench, just so he could sit "right" as he told his mom, to play the piano. Sarah is starting him on flashcards of the notes on the scale. Ethan can count, knows his alphabet, and knows his colors as well, so sight recognition is very good. We will see about playing the piano.

Well I am going to get this last block finished -
Have a great day and do something fun!
Hugs,
Jana

Good afternoon from sunny but very, very cold, SW. Pa...AND we have snow, just an inch or so but it's white and cold and not very pretty.....

I've read through all the posts and had responses for you all and then it was gone...So, this will be a quickie....

I did mention to Jim that I wanted to do some painting, hoping he'd say, OK, where do you want me to start...BUT, the nice fellow that he is, brought the paint up from the basement and said, here it is! So, I think today is the day, (maybe)...I could probably start in one of the bedrooms and keep going...I do have a call in to the carpet people to come and take care of my bedroom carpet...It's stretching and I told them I get seasick when I walk through the room.... So I need to get busy and accomplish something, even if it's wrong....

My heart goes out to all who are in need and worried about family....So many problems that need so many prayers.......

You all have a good day.....

As Vicky always says, Keep Looking Up!

Well, we got pretty good news. Hubby's colon is clean. There is a small cluster of cancer that will be taken care of with radiation. So, all your prayers has helped. Thank you so very much.

Crazy day, 1st food bank, then delivered quilt items for our quilt show boutique. They didn't take my products only quilted items, not books. Return walked so so far, ltd bus service, fresh air! Sidewalks are dangerous icy, lady before me fell so hard coming off the bus.. So lucky nothing broken. Now, I'll relax with good coffee, didn't have time this morn.. Cut up a cantaloupe, tk I'll just fall asleep from all the exercise/fresh air.
