Re: Sunday, March 23 (early)
Good Cloudy Morning....
My knitting class yesterday was fun. There's a all day 'work on what you want' class going on too. The woman were so funny. hey were talking about when they were hippies & how they dressed. Then one said she makes this wonderful cake that her DH said was better then sex.....that set then all off & they wanted the recipe!!!! So funny.
My teacher showed me how to stack 2 QIAD sites(on the laptop)
so I can stack then so I can read & respond with out all the scrolling.
Today will be vac'ing, dusting & sewing.
HAPPY HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!!!!! Maryz have a wonderful day!!!
Suzette....sorry about the lack of sleep. You'll sleep well tonight.
You were lucky to have a fabric to substitute.
Mel....sleep well.
Lois....not one stitch?! Hope you can make up for it to day. Nice to go out for breakfast. I've been seeing Robins for a month but snow coming mid week.
Maryq....have a fast & smooth work day. Don't forget the coffee!!
Maryz.....it sounds like you're going to have a wonderful day. Wish we were there with you to help celebrate. Hope you wake up soon. Oh Poor kitty, makes you wonder how that happens.
Velda....praying for safe travel for you & DH along with Maryz & anyone else traveling. Happy beading.
Kathy.....house cleaning is not my thing. I'm always grumpy when I do it. Are you feeling all better...I hope so.
Becca....happy to hear you B'day was wonderful!! Flowers are always fun.
Oh darn I forgot to eat breakfast again. I'm really a brunch person.
Love & prayers.....Lathy

Good morning!
just a drive-by posting as we have to leave for church in a few minutes.
Maryz - HB to you!
Becca - a belated HB.
We got another 4" of snow yesterday. We debated about driving to Denver for our anniversry dinner. I checked out the tradfic cams (thanks, Maryq!) and decided to go. The roads were barely wet when we got to the interstate - so yay for us. Dinner was fantastic. I wish I could have another 26 years with DH. Well, I guess I could if he lived to 93!
Better get a wiggle on. I have to put on u snow boots, which takes about ten minutes. Have a great day! xoxo Sharona

Re: Sunday, March 23 (early)
Good morning! Chilly and windy here. Spring comes and teases us then leaves. I know it will happen eventually, then I hope I don’t complain too much about the hot temperatures that Summer brings. I saw a clump of daffodils blooming down the road. Mine are up but no buds yet.
Happy Birthday MaryZ! Becca—good to hear you had a wonderful day yesterday! Sharona—happy anniversary to you! My DH and I figure if we get 40 years, we’ll be 100. Wonder if we make it if we will even know who the other is!
Mom was good yesterday. My sister had taken her to the dentist last week to get a new plate. She had broken a tooth. She looks great and much younger than her 95! She was busy with the placemats she is making for my niece.
My day started out with a flat tire on my truck. That never puts me in a good mood. At least we have back up vehicles, and I took DH’s truck to town. I can’t lock it for some reason, so I didn’t get groceries as I didn’t want to leave Odie in an unlocked vehicle at W-M. He’s just too cute and friendly… well, I would want him, but DH says I’m the only one who can put up with his impudence and lack of behaving. When I came home, I made a cookie for one of the grandsons and we delivered it last evening. He’s 18 now, and we have 3 GKs older than he is! Where does time go so quickly?
MaryQ—We were talking last night about where people spend their money… crazy that she isn’t paying you rent, yet she spends it all. Sounds like our renters… I guess when I rented, I had it all backwards… I paid my rent first, then worried about food, and lastly clothes or a vehicle. Our renters’ priority is cell phones (the fanciest), huge TV (on rental), cool car, take out food, name-brand clothes, and maybe, if there is anything left they might pay something on the rent… What a battle! Have I mentioned that I hate the rentals?
Kathy—did you get the recipe? LOL!!!
Kathy2—House cleaning is definitely not my thing. You would never confuse me with Suzi Homemaker!
Sorry I can’t stay… I was late getting around. This was my bone med day. I haven’t had my coffee yet. The wind is howling around the house and sounds like a haunted night. At least I’m heavy enough I don’t have to put weights in my pockets when I step outside or I might be in Oklahoma if I wasn’t careful!
Have a blessed day!

Good morning,
Happy Birthday, Maryz! Have a wonderful day with your family.
Happy Birthday , Becca. What a great day you had, and will have!
Sitting here in Church, meeting hasn't started yet. We got the garden area tilled up yesterday. DH and Sarah laid out the space for our little barn. It really is a garden shed, but will look like a monitor barn and will be painted red with a quilt block painted on it too. Most of the garden will be at Sarah's, but I will have a coupke of plants.
I think that we all ned a road trip - to Chriss' s for a party - since she is officalky becoming a mom, we need a party! I know where her house is! LOL
Later after Church, I will get to work on my mystery quilt, setting the blocks into the border strips.
Must scoot, church is starting and DH frowns on me playing here!
Hugs,
Jana

-26C this morn, suppose to reach -11C. Well sun & blue skies made it, careful walking, ice on sidewalk, wouldn't you know need groceries. Kitten heats his fur in sun while hearing his birds chirp their happy song from inside house.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ALL who are celebrating. As soon as my cupboards are done sprucing up, I'll get to play on my 4patch scraps, accumulated so much in 1yr.

Re: Sunday, March 23 (early)
good morning... today is church and grocery shopping for grandma.. then I get to sew.. if one of you is holding up the "block squaring up fairy" please send her this way... I will send her back when I'm done.. it would be nice if she would square what I have so far while I am at church..
I do have one of those QIAD square up rulers.. it is a dream, I love it... for some reason it was on clearance at Joann's...
Izzy, picky eaters drive me nuts too..I love corn bread, do you have a wonderful recipe?
Maryq.. when we were painting Jerry would get the colors I chose in little sample jars.. then he'd paint a square about a foot by a foot so I could think about it for a few days.. I bet we had 5 or more of those squares on our bedroom walls...if things will really move forward I will be in court in May otherwise they will just hold court and pick a new date...our county has made so many errors that it was suggested we go to the federal grand jury.. but, those errors have been in Marilyn's favor so we won't make any moves till the ink is dry...
Suzette, your braid quilt will be treasured.. how exciting to go to a retreat, I have never been to one...I bet it would be wonderful..
Mel... HOWDY to you too.
Lois.. enjoy your breakfast date... I think breakfast out is my favorite.
Maryq... spring is here, I'll trade you spring for winter for a week or so if you'd like...
Maryz.. hope it's a great b-day glad sis liked her quilt...
Velda, when do you leave?
Kath2.. hope you feel better.
Becca.. the question about Marilyn's b-cert is... she wasn't born in Calif but in Mississippi so we dont' know if the b-cert will be from Cali or Miss...glad your b-day was great...
Kathy, sounds like knitting group is a fun... if the cake is really that good be sure to share the recipe... glad you learned a new computer move.
Sharona, glad dinner was great and the road clear... 93 is doable...
Chickie... sorry about the flat tire and the truck that doesn't lock...I used to pay rent first too...
Jana, yes, we need a party here... bring your tents or campers, there's plenty of room to park... I could even get Sals taco truck to come with food...they make the best chili relleno burritos... it would be fun...
Judi, so cool to have jammie time.. they have just had their baths and smell snuggly.. what fun.
I am off to the showers.. Jerry had to go to a vehicle fire incident...Marilyn is still sleeping.. she had a late night with her sleepover the other day...not sure if I should wake her and go to church without Jerry or not... this mom stuff is just full of decision making...lol
you girls have really gone through this process with me and it's finally winding down... I am just amazed and how far Marilyn has come in the last few years.. I so so appreciate all the support you have given me... with friends like you it is so wonderful to be me...God bless...

Re: Sunday, March 23 (early)
Good afternoon all! Just a quick stop in today. Just got back from church so need to get lunch so I can watch more basketball today. My brackets are in bad shape because I picked Duke to the Elite Eight. My Michigan Wolverines are in the Sweet 16 and I picked them to win it all. I have faith. Will try to get some blocks cut today while watching the games and checking on the NASCAR race and golf tournament. My mom was a "sports nut" so I guess I got my enjoyment from her. She was a big all Detroit teams fan, but that I am not.
Before I forget Happy Birthday Maryz!!! Glad your sister's retirement party went well.
Kathy2 - Glad your cold is better. Get lots of rest-if possible.
FarmChick - I guess things have changed since my DH and I were first married and rented an apartment. We always paid the bills first and then had our "fun". Sometimes there was money for fun, but sometimes not, but we survived.
Chriss - I have not been on this chat room a long time, and don't know all the facts, but sounds like you have been through a lot. Glad it is coming to a good end for you finally.
Well, better go get some lunch. Have a good week everyone.
Sherry
