Re: Thursday, March 13 - Friday Eve!!
Good morning... this week has gone by rather quickly... I love that about a week.. hopefully the weekend is in slo motion...
Suzette, I sure wish we could take your storm.. wind and all...we could use any moisture we can get. hope DH's colonscopy goes well and the treatment is minimal.
Lois.. I had to put my jacket on yesterday at work too... I keep a sweatshirt type jacket hanging in my cubicle, I am not good at being cold... but it's better than too hot.. are you almost done with training?
Teresa, I don't think anyone over 25 should pull an overnighter... glad you got the quilt done... was there a picture posted?
Dolores, have a fun weekend, looking forward to seeing that quilt.
Leah..mmmmmm, chocolate.. Ilvoe soft serve ice cream
Maryz.. glad your hands are better...beans and strawberries will help make a great dinner.
mepiece... happy quilt club.. sounds fun.
Becca, you've got a lot of quilts to make.. sounds fun.
Izzy.. what are we going to do with you.... hope you feel better soon
gotta go..
Chriss

Suz - whoa - I thought your DH had skin cancer so I'm surprised at what you said about the colonoscopy. Ohhh yes, it's a skin cancer on his booty. Now the colonoscopy makes sense. Still praying for y'all. It was really windy here yesterday but today is cool, sunny and windless - just beautiful. Too bad there's so much Oak pollen out there - ha-choo!
Lois - pack for the weekend - WOO HOO.
Teresa - you shouldn't be pulling all nighters unless you are under the age of 30! You are asking Vicky about her Shakespeare in the Park quilt - I SO love that quilt!!! You can google it - I think it's one of Judy Martin's books.
Dolores - y'all are going to have a blast!!! I can't wait for you to get back and tell us all about it.
Scrap - 50-somethings are the best people to hire because they usually have no kids at home anymore and they are willing to DO THEIR JOB.
Maryz - you should feel a huge sense of accomplishment in getting Jane put together...and ahead of schedule, too. Vicki called me this morning and she sounds so groggy. She hasn't slept because she's nauseated and vomiting. The pain isn't too bad - she's keeping up with taking the meds so the pain doesn't get ahead of them so that's good. She was going to try and sleep now so I'm not calling her today. She needs to rest.
Kathy2 - your day sounds great until you got to the grocery store part - LOL.
Becca - you make it sound so cold there. I would like to visit NC some day. I hear it's beautiful.
Izzy - bless your heart. Foot pain is terrible and very aggravating. I hope you get relief soon. Do you take Aleve or something?
My DH went to his surgeon yesterday and his prostate removal surgery will be on April 9th. I'll be glad when it's over. After work today I have to go to the grocery store. Yuk. Then I'll fix dinner and then work on my rooster. Gotta get busy here.
I hope we can all fondle fabric today.

Re: Thursday, March 13 - Friday Eve!!
Called my foot dr. He said wear one of my many boots I have from previous injuries for couple days to keep from stretching my plantar fasciitis. He said its common for all my foot surgerys on that foot and all the time I spend on my feet at work and on farm. Put on boot and got relief:) It makes you walk heel to toe without using arch:) I also have to keep wrapped and can use ice if needed.
Baking cake, pretzel dessert, green beans and baked beans for funeral. Cake wont get done so may not go with me Not sure why may have added too much honey. Its honey bun cake:)

Good Morning.....
What a mess of a morning. The wing is howling, everything is covered in a layer of ice, it's snowing & 10'. And I can't believe I'm skipping my 2ed WW meeting! I'm on the desk top because the laptop says I'm not connected & I'll have to call the cable people to see what's up.
It's a stay home & sew day!!
Kim up date....she told me her ankle hurts alot but less each week. But she she having a huge problem with the new manager at work. She is being mean & a bully. What Kim tells me sounds like grade school. She doesn't even know my DD. So Kim asked for prayer. Thank you, again.
Suzette....I'll be keeping you HD In my prayers. The braid quilt is on my list of "to do quilts". (((((HUGS))))
Lois...so happy for you. You'll have a wonderful trip.
Teresa....good job!! He'll be one happy little boy. Sleep tight.
Dolores....have a wonderful time with your sister & all that fabric.

Maryz....sounds like a lot of work for a really fun time. Cross stitch sounds like a good idea I haven't done that in a while. Your Jane is beautiful.
Kathy2....lucky you....have fun at your quilt club.
Becca...happy sewing. Don't spend too much time cleaning.
Izzy...sorry to hear about your foot. I'm limping with 1 infected toe but I have antibiotics & it will be gone soon.

Re: Thursday, March 13 - Friday Eve!!
Good morning! I’m getting around slowly this morning. Had an e-mail to file a report with the State on the rentals, and just a little of this and that have kept me from visiting with you all.
Sorry to hear you are getting weather slammed again in the East. We are back to 70 today, so take heart—your good weather will be on the way!
Jules—come here when you are down, and we will lift you up. I will love seeing your elephant!
MaryZ—My niece asked my mom to make three sets of six placemats. She and my sister are so good at thinking up jobs for Mom. It’s kind of a sore spot for me, so I won’t go on and on. Your Jane quilt is amazing! Knowing you, you’ll have the triangle blocks finished on your way home!
I will check back later… Enjoy today!

Re: Thursday, March 13 - Friday Eve!!
Long ago and far away, in a land that time forgot,
Before the days of Dylan, or the dawn of Camelot.
There lived a race of innocents, and they were you and me,
For Ike was in the White House in that land where we were born,
Where navels were for oranges, and Peyton Place was porn.
We longed for love and romance, and waited for our Prince,
Eddie Fisher married Liz, and no one's seen him since.
We danced to 'Little Darlin,' and sang to 'Stagger Lee'
And cried for Buddy Holly in the Land That Made Me, Me.
Only girls wore earrings then, and 3 was one too many,
And only boys wore flat-top cuts, except for Jean McKinney.
And only in o ur wildest dreams did we expect to see
A boy named George with Lipstick, in the Land That Made Me, Me.
We fell for Frankie Avalon, Annette was oh, so nice,
And when they made a movie, they never made it twice..
We didn't have a Star Trek Five, or Psycho Two and Three,
Or Rocky-Rambo Twenty in the Land That Made Me, Me.
Miss Kitty had a heart of gold, and Chester had a limp,
And Reagan was a Democrat whose co-star was a chimp.
We had a Mr. Wizard, but not a Mr. T,
And Oprah couldn't talk yet, in the Land That Made Me, Me.
We had our share of heroes, we never thought they'd go,
At least not Bobby Darin, or Marilyn Monroe.
For youth was still eternal, and life was yet to be,
And Elvis was forever in the Land That Made Me, Me.
We'd never seen the rock band that was Grateful to be Dead,
And Airplanes weren't named Jefferson , and Zeppelins were not Led.
And Beatles lived in gardens then, and Monkees lived in trees,
Madonna was Mary in the Land That Made Me, Me.
We'd never heard of microwaves, or telephones in cars,
And babies might be bottle-fed, but they were not grown in jars.
And pumping iron got wrinkles out, and 'gay' meant fancy-free,
And dorms were never co-Ed in the Land That Made Me, Me.
We hadn't seen enough of jets to talk about the lag,
And microchips were what was left at the bottom of the bag.
And hardware was a box of nails, and bytes came from a flea,
And rocket ships were fiction in the Land That Made Me, Me.
T-Birds came with portholes, and side shows came with freaks,
And bathing suits came big enough to cover both your cheeks.
And Coke came just in bottles, and skirts below the knee,
And Castro came to power near the Land That Made Me, Me.
We had no Crest with Fluoride, we had no Hill Street Blues,
We had no patterned pantyhose or Lipton herbal brews
Or prime-time ads for those dysfunctions in the Land That Made Me, Me.
There were no golden arches, no Perrier to chill,
And fish were not called Wanda, and cats were not called Bill
And middle-aged was 35 and old was forty-three,
And ancient were our parents in the Land That Made Me, Me.
But all things have a season, or so we've heard them say,
And now instead of Maybelline we swear by Retin-A.
They send us invitations to join AARP,
We've come a long way, baby, from the Land That Made Me, Me.
So now we face a brave new world in slightly larger jeans,
And wonder why they're using smaller print in magazines.
And we tell our children's children of the way it used to be,
Long ago and far away in the Land That Made Me, Me.
Before the days of Dylan, or the dawn of Camelot.
There lived a race of innocents, and they were you and me,

For Teresa:

Cindy- Did you write that poem? Brought back so much, people think that things have gotten better and I would disagree, life was better when we were kids.
Harley is on his way. I worked on him a little this morning. None yesterday as Tia did come and then left when it started to freeze.
I called my chiropractor and she got me in this morning. I went out a bit early to start the car....good thing I did, I couldn't get the door open, it was frozen shut. I had to wake poor Caleb up to help me out.
I hope you all have a nice day.
Keep looking up,
Vicky

Re: Thursday, March 13 - Friday Eve!!
Good afternoon all! Just got back from doing some errands. I went to the bank and got all our checking accounts and mortgage changed over to my name. Stopped and had a late breakfast at Bob Evans. When I got home I let Otis out in the fenced-in backyard. When I went to check on him I couldn't find him. Finally found him in the barn attached to the fence. It seems the door had gotten blown open during the storm. That had to have been a bad wind. I was so scared because I couldn't figure out where he went. He is laying on the floor beside me right now. He was having a good time exploring the barn.
Suzette - Your DH will be in my prayers for his skin cancer.
Sooz - Hope you feel better soon.
Vicky - That is a beautiful quilt. I love blue quilts.
Cindyg - Fantastic poem!!! Exactly how I feel I was young during that era, and my parents thought our generation was weird. I guess I am getting old. Will keep you and Don in my prayers especially on April 9th.
Kathy - Will say a prayer for Kim.
Izzy - Hope your foot problems heal fast.
Jules - Enjoy your free time. Can't wait to see your elephant when it is done.
Maryz - Great idea for Maryq's and her roommate. She has more patience with her than I would.
Delores - Have a good time in Lancaster.
Diana - Glad your DH is getting out of the hospital. Hope he feels better soon.
Well, better go get something done. I plan on watching the latest Mystery Quilt video this afternoon. Have a good day all.
