Good morning everyone!
It is Friday. I have a 4 day weekend. I rearranged my schedule for next week since we go to settlement on Monday in the middle of the day. So, today after hubby's dr appointment I am headed out to my studio. Yesterday at treatment they are just concentrating the radiation where the cancer was. Today's appointment is the 1st of the last 7. The end is near. Have a wonderful day.

Re: Friday, February 28
Good morning everyone! Haven't posted much lately... life gets so busy.
suzette58- Yay for 4 day weekends!!! My Mom used to make quilts and charged per hour plus the fabric cost. Don't give your services away- you are an artist! Enjoy your studio time!
fabricgirl- Yay for one more teacher! Hang in there!
momof6quilts- how did your sewing room turn out? I sure hope you are feeling better. Cdiff is really tough on the system!
msdeets- Men sure can be babies! I am so used to my husband being strong- my rock... now he has the flu and wowzers... he is so whiny and pathetic...lol. Glad you have another appt. I would have been livid waiting that long!
purrfect-lady- I hope you are nice and warm again! I would love to try Dear Jane but my stash is so limited right now. I would have to buy all the fabric!
KATHYSQUILTS- Best of luck with WW. It works so well for me but I just haven't had the motivation. I really need to drop this weight but the food tatstes so good...lol.
scrapquilter48- Brrr... how did the ticket selling go? You are so busy!
lucieshouses- Hope your ride was uneventful in the rain. People here in CA lose their minds in the rain! I am hoping not to get called out tonight if it gets bad... scary!
Marilynsgrammy- soggy here in Irvine today too. I don't mind the rain but to listen to the news, it is the end of times!
Jules- HUGS! It takes some time to find your equilibrium again after such a life changing tragedy. Be good to yourself. Rest and try to recharge your batteries!
billizzy- Sorry about the retirement delay... but I bet your employer is glad you are staying! You have been busy with your March Lotto finished already! You go girl! How's the mystery quilt coming along? I am going to dig mine back out and put it together. It isn't what I had in mind but I am NOT redoing all of those little squares...lol. I have hexie templates waiting for me to have scraps. I miss my scrap bin soooo much..lol.
cindyg- Camping, huh? I camped for the first time two years ago. It was 105 degrees and it was a medieval event so I was dressed in gowns for 4 days... oh, and I got my period on the way to the event... so much fun with porta potties... NOT! I will try again in October.
grammiequilts- sorry your beach time has been limited! I hope things warm up for you! Hope Nolan feels better soon too. My oldest had Scarlet Fever too when he was a babe.
maryq- Congrats on the new laundry room! Maybe you should have your contractor go into your roomates room to look around... let her know you are making plans for when she LEAVES!
FlorenceM- I was in Big Bear last year when I visited CA. Now that I live here, I can hardly wait to go back. So beautiful there! What kind of shop do you own?
MEPIECE2- Gorgeous quilt!!! Feels so good when it starts to look like a quilt, doesn't it?
SusieQ51- I work nights, so I am awake at night. It took me awhile to adapt but when it is the best job available and the bills need to be paid, you adapt...lol. I am lucky to be able to work from home, so when it is slow, and I am done with chart review, I can sew. I do much better after 3 am, which is 6 am NY time. I think I lived there so long that my body still remembers NY time..lol
gershwin64- Hello! I read and don't post at times too... usually right before bed in the morning. I love to hear about all of the goings on. I just love this group and you all make me feel so welcome!
Quiltmom- having my husbands cremains was comforting for me too. My son has them now as he is not ready to spread them yet. The kids are thinking of planting him under a tree in a local park. I thought that was a neat idea. I hope the snow stops soon for you!
Chrissy1- Glad surgery worked out well. HUGS! Hoping recovery is smooth and quick!
Going to try a March Lotto block tonight and see what happens. I am out of WoW for my red and white blocks, so a trip to Joanns is in my future. I also have my Secret Pal name and need to find a cool block to make! Enjoy the day!

-30C MaryQ sounds your roommate doesn't want to leave.. Just comfortable at your house?
Susie Q How you adapt to nights shift beyond me for lots good wage, government jobs nights shifts which I can't adapt. It is said it adss 7rs to your life.. Then give pension income 7 years earlier then? or retirement benefits.
4am Dark till 7:30am I'll rid of laundry, mop floors, clean furballs behind furniture when light out crunch time putting tog. UFO's next week beginning of single digits.
Tuesday, be final day to set up my house for sewing stations if ladies choose to come for the satellite group I am organizing. Don't know if a go or not. And then get treated to a delicious buffet restaurant meal by my stepmother who I detest. If I could just smile and keep quiete all be better.

Morning girls.....I woke at 6.30 this morning and promptly turned over and fell back to sleep and didn't wake until 10am....guess I needed it....if truth be told, I could easily have gone back to sleep for more but knew I had to get up and get the day started
I plan on having a sewing day today, so far I don't need to do anything with family so I'm hoping to just switch off and get lost in fabric
Suze - happy 4 day weekend and yayy to nearing the end of your treatment xx
SoozG - nice to see you and yaayy for the rain....I understand you gals really need it over there, we've had far too much and more is forecast for the weekend along with ice and snow
Scrap - have fun getting ready for your satellite group, hope they come and enjoy your lunch.......make the most of beiing treated to lunch I hope you can smile, just remember everytime you want to say something you will probably annoy her more by popping another mouthfful of food in and smiling cos she is paying for it xx
love and prayers to all of you, so sorry if I have missed any big/important news while I haven't been around much, I am always thinking of you and wishing the best for you xxxx

Re: Friday, February 28
It is -2 here this morning. I can't believe winter is hanging on SO long! I also can't believe I am actually going out in it today. I'm going to my MIL's this morning to do schedule and such. She will be glad to see me I'm sure.
The sewing room turned out WONDERFUL!!!! Shannon said she would come one more time to tackle the closet and the fabric bins. We did all the shelves over my sewing machine and my sewing table is cleared off. I can't believe the room! I had the container with Kim's browns and all my HST for my trees still on there. She asked me how on earth I can work like that. I have to say I was a little embarrassed.
SoozG- I am still not myself. c-diff takes a lot out of you then it takes a while to get "normal" afterwards. I'm being very careful about what I eat and I am getting the rest I need. Have fun at Joann's, going there myself soon.
scrapquilter48- I have a stepmother too. It is hard sometimes but I always try to keep a smile on my face. Last time I saw her we got along just fine. I just think of this verse:
“If your enemy is hungry, feed him;
if he is thirsty, give him something to drink.
In doing this, you will heap burning coals on his head.”
Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.
Jules- It's ok for you to get lost in fabric (sounds heavenly) Just don't forget your way out. I hope sewing is going great for you today.
I'm up my normal time for a change I have been sleeping in in the mornings. I even saw Darryl off to work
I've missed our alone time in the morning. It's hard to get when you have kids around all the time. He drinks his coffee and I drink my quart of water and we talk, nice.
I hope it warms up some today, my poor biddies. They stay right inside there coop on days like today.
Have a great one, keep looking up!
Vicky

Good Morning,
SUZ - What 'settlement' are you going to? I must have missed a page somewhere or else it's early yet. Can't wait for you to be done with your treatments!
SOOZ - I didn't want to buy fabric for my Dear Jane, either so I'm making it scrappy. It's clearing out my scrap bin. Yesterday I put the first four rows (13 blocks per row) together with black sashing. I love how it looks!
SCRAPS - good luck with your quilting group. And try to enjoy lunch with your step-mom. I'm a step-mom and we're not all evil!
JULES - Sounds like you probably needed that sleep!
VICKY - so happy to hear you're doing better! And having your sewing room all tidied up and organized is a real 'upper', too. Bet you can't wait to get in there and mess it up again!
JUDI - sorry you've been having bad weather. Hope today is warm and sunny for you! Prayers for little Nolan. My DD#1 had scarlet fever, too when she was little. Only the doctor told me they now call it 'scarleltina' because, while still serious, it isn't the threat that it was before antibiotics. She also had strep throat. But not together!! Poor Nolan!
Yesterday I took a break from making DJ blocks and put the first four rows together with my black sashing. OMG, they look so cool! I love the look of it! I can't wait to get to it again each morning.
Today DH wants to run Scottie through a dog wash, which is across the highway from the LQS . . . ;o}. It would be rude to not stop in and say hello to my new friends, don't you think?? He also wants to get a haircut and fuel up the pick-up. I should take stock of the groceries as long as we're out. So I guess we'll be doing a short list of errands.
Hoping to get a lot of thread on my later though!

Good morning all! Just a quick stop in this morning. Please keep me in your prayers this morning. My furnace went out last night. I have a call in to the heating repair company that I have a contract with. I just can't deal with this now. Between DH passing away, my severe bronchitis and now the furnace. I just don't believe it. Thanks for letting me rant. Please pray for me today.

Chrissy said her grandson is doing better, and the Red Wings won last night, So it is starting to be a great day. I am making pancakes this morning,,,for the 4 of us, ken has promised me beach time today,,,we will take our beach tent down and sit and watch the waves and take a walk...Yesterday we walked about a half mile due to the late start. today a mile or more....love the walks. water is icey cold though. usually when we come d0wn it is warmer,,,
Tomorrow we move to Jacksonville and another state park...there is a cute little town and a seafood market so BBq shrimp amd flounder are on the menu. (Sorry Maryz) I also noticed a couple of new LQSs and a Joanns near by...we will be there just over a week and head home,,,the route will take us through Georgis and the largest quilt shop in georgia so we might stop there for the night. depends on the weather,
today the gym is waiting,,,,and we go for one hour. it is for my bones cause i am not losing any weight on this trip...probably back tracked my 12 lb lose...LOL....but we are having a great time.
have a wonderful day....today one of our camping buddies officially retires from her job...they couldn't be with us this year but now all 6 of us are retired and look forward to many camping trips in the future,
My quilting atudent and friend with breast cancer has been told there are more cells in her latest surgery and she will have to have a fulll mastectomy sfterall. that is scheduled for early April,,,they do reconstruction at the same time...pray for her please.

Just a quick note.
Mymy had a down slide again. After having a good evening, sitting up and even taking a walk, his fever is back with a vengeance 102.3 to 102.8 durning the night and this morning. He threw up also. Waiting for dr. Amed. He is on Tylenol and tourdol. The surgeons and staff residents can't figure out what is going on. Please keep him in your prayers. I am so confused. Thank you.
Prayers and positive thoughts going out to all in need.
Pink warriors keep up the fight

Re: Friday, February 28
Happy Beginning of the Weekend Day -
Not many plans in the works today. I plan on doing some work on the quilt I promised DD and I have a doc's appointment this afternoon. We do need to get groceries and meds but it is so cold out, I don't want to go out unless I have to. While it isn't as cold as Leah's Canada with -30C (-22F) but it is still cold! DD and DGS came over last night to escape an arguing couple. DGS has heard DH and I disagree but never a full blown argument where one threatens to call the police. The problem is with the person that moved in with her fiancé's roommate. That person has some very serious issues. We will be glad when they move out. It will be harder for the kids but completely more peaceful.
SUZETTE - Congratulations on getting to the end of your treatments. We will celebrate the milestones with you!!
SOOZG - Medieval events have always interested me but never enough to take part. And I agree with you on that food tastes so good!! This is the only "disease" I can think of that you have to use your "addiction" in order to survive. I did forget about your job but I do know that later shifts always pay better. I totally understand doing it for better pay.
LEAH _ Dang it is cold up there but you are sharing your cold with us so I thinks its ok. I would love to try your satellite group for sewing. I am a step-mom and I really try to keep my mouth shut. The biggest problem is that I had both of my DH's children as third graders so I do tend to butt in when I should stay out. It is a that point I feel like the evil step - mom. I will be sending prayers for you day with her.
JULES -Sleep was exactly what you needed. Getting lost in your studio is an awesome idea. Enjoy it to the fullest.
VICKY - I hope you post pictures of your cleaned sewing room. The answer to Shannon's question about how can you work like this should be, "Because I am talented!" And, I love the Bible verse about your enemy. It is so very true.
MARY Z - Doing your errands for the dog wash and the groceries sounds just like us, without the dog wash. And not stopping at the LQS would be extremely rude.
SHERRY _ Sorry about your furnace quitting. Praying that the work is easy and cheap. (These 2 words usually do not go together when it comes to furnaces but I had to try.)
JUDI - Starting back north maybe OK but take your time. We have extreme weather coming in and that means snow and ice. Stopping at the largest quilt shop in Georgia makes me want to go now. I would NEVER come out but if I did, I would owe the national debt for the stuff I would NEED to buy.
If I missed anyone, sorry! I usually forget someone. I am amazed at the number of you that finish projects so quickly. Someday, I might be able to join your ranks!
