Monday, February 10

Post by suzette58 » Sun Feb 09, 2014 8:39 pm

Good morning everyone.
Well yesterday was a very productive day. I made a loaf of regular bread, a loaf of banana bread and the best of all finished Lydia's quilt. It is even packed ready to go to the post office. I also decided to start the baby quilt for my nephew's baby. I have the cutest fabric that has cowboys, horses. I decided to use the main fabric like a panel. I couldn't figure out how else to use it. I think it will work. Today it is back to work and my crazy week. Have a wonderful day.

Good morning and happy Monday to all. I am curious about mailing addresses for the group. If I want to send a card or a little something to brighten someone's day... how do I go about doing so?

Just woke up and am not sure what to work on...I am so tempted to start on the mystery blocks but better not... El will no doubt have some mind blowing tip that will save me hours of work and a few gray hairs! I think I will watch a bit of tv and then get started on my Dresdens. I am thinking of using a black background fabric... will have to get a few done and audition some backgrounds.

Did the shopping today... made the hubby come with me to make it more fun... now to do laundry all night. I think I will start some spaghetti sauce in the crockpot tomorrow morning... it has been a little cool and damp here (for southern California) and spaghetti dinner sounds good.

So much sadness and loss in the list... my heart is heavy. Please know that you are all in my thoughts.

Good morning Sooz
As far as getting someone's address I usually just ask for that person's address to be sent to me in a personal message. As I have gotten involved in some of the swaps, Secret Santa, etc I have tried to keep the addresses. I have a small notebook that I have been putting them in.

Good Morning!

SUZETTE - You've really gotten on the baby quilt bandwagon! Your new quilt sounds so cute!

SOOZ - I do like Suzette - when I need an address I request it by PM. And then, as I collect them, I save them in a list. Have fun sewing today!

LOIS - will your new job be much different from your old job?

LEAH - it's always so nice to be able to brighten someone else's day!

We made it to Georgetown, just north of Austin yesterday. We are back in the campgpround where we spent 2 months last winter. Our friends from last year are also here (they live full-time in their RV) and they reserved the spot next to them for us. It was so good to see them again. Then our kids came up from town and it was heaven to see my little girl again! It's been 13 months since I last hugged her.

We'll be here for a while, so today I will do some uglies and then some nesting, i.e., get my sewing machine set up!

Our RV is an Arctic Fox so I have a collection of stuffed foxes stashed in cubbies around the living room, just for show. Scottie just discovered them and is barking his head off at them. Such a brave baby I have!

I hope we all get a little time to play Spin the Bobbin today!

Good morning all! Thank you so much for all the condolences over my DH's passing. It is so comforting to know that you are all here for me. It sure seems like we have all had a lot of sadness and concerns lately on this chat room. Prayers go out for all who need them.

Got all the cremation arrangements done yesterday so Pepper and I are just going to stay in, keep warm, watch curling, and be fine. DH didn't want any visitation or services and I agree with him. I actually think this is easier than the usual way. My son in the Marine Corps is stuck on a snowy mountain in Japan, and my other son is in Houston getting ready to move to Goshen, Indiana to a new job. This company in Indiana contacted him about coming to work for them and they are matching his salary. Goshen is only 90 miles from here in Defiance. In must have been in God's plan so that one of my children would be near if I need them. He will be up here in about 10 days. Thank you God!

Well better go get some breakfast before the phone starts ringing again. Like the other ladies I am collecting addresses of you in my card file.

Thanks again for all your thoughts and letting me "ramble on". I think I need to go over my new Mystery Block instructions before tomorrows webinair. That will give me something keep my thoughts busy.

Good you guessed it NO SCHOOL MONDAY we got another dusting but it must be worse north of me LOL.

Let me tell you the scare we had at 1240am: The fire alarms in the house all go off. Talk about jumping out of bed. DH is down in his back and he made it out and to DD room before me. Our bedroom connects to greatroom/dining/kitchen then there is DD sweet on other side and spare. So all real close. Wood stove is on Wall by our door. It was in super burn and pipes got tooo hot and started smoking. OH MY scared the nighty off me LOL. No fire just smoke and excess heat which set off the alarms. Well needless to say took us couple hours to calm down and go to sleep. DH choked down fire and I refused to put more wood on til this morning. It was 85 in our great room. We think well we know I overloaded stove unfortunately before going to bed.

So now that scare is done. I am home to get uglies done. DH and DD just left to meet her van at end of our road. If our drive doesnt melt DD and I will be taking 4 wheeler back to house this afternoon. She loves to ride it. She has a racing helmet she wears too cute:)

I hope to sew on SBS blocks today and uglies.

Lois hope work goes fast for you.

Sooz 70 is not cool LOL its 22 here with low tonight to be 10. Now thats cool.:)

I have always wanted to do Lancaster show. I would just love to visit the area. PA seems like a beautiful place. Not to mention EAGLES. I would love to go see stadium:)) Big fan.

Well take care my fav quilters

God bless and happy thoughts

Good Morning It is sunny this morning,,(YEAH!)Slept late today. Warm bed with Ken and kitty and I don't want to get up. So I laid there and bizzarre thoughts started going through my head,,,things I need to do and the list goes on and on. Finally got up and got going. Been packing up sewing projects and I realized I am taking too many things. going to put it all in a bin and hope it fits...LOL

Camper has about 8 inches of snow on the roof and we cannot turn on the furnace or anything unless the vents are clear...Poor ken will have to go up there and clear them. a long broom handle should do the trick I think. I will be making a large pile in the dining room today... going to get truck fueled and some errands..

Then more cleaning,,,I am about done with the spring cleaning except for the windows with this weather it may be July before we open the windows in this house.

Hope all of the saddness and worry is given up to God...He can handle it better than we. Hugs to all XXXOOO
