Deb--I, too, have walked in your shoes. It takes time for healing to begin. Quilting is wonderful therapy. I joined the choir at church rather than sitting alone and met many wonderful new friends. Going to work each day helped, too. I know it is cloudy now in your life, but the sun will come out again. Savor your wonderful memories of your Bernie. Your children will grieve in their own way, but you can spend some time together remembering and doing something that you all did together. Perhaps you could each wear a piece of Bernie's clothing and "take him along with you" for an outing and receive comfort and peace at the same time.
