I won the January Lotto!!! But I need help.

The pattern is set on-point. Is there a formula or something to know how many squares one needs?
In other words, if I were making this not on point, I know that the squares are going to finish at 6", so I'd just divide my required width by 6 to know how many blocks, but when set on point, it's not going to work.
Is this a situation I took Algebra for, never thinking I would need it in my life? Do I need to know the hypotaneuse? I think that's it. What is that formula. A + B = C or A times B = C? lol. Guess I remember just enough to be dangerous. Can anyone help me out here?

I'm wondering how many squares you have? If you lay them out in rows, won't you be able to figure out how many rows you want? When you put them out, remember that you have one less in the second row than you have in the first. You use fillers in the empty spaces to make the quilt.
In other words, if you use 3 on point blocks in rows 1 , 3 , and 5. You use two on point in rows 2 and 4.

It has so much info in it - you don't have to keep it all in your head - it's in this book

If you are looking for the size of the side and corner setting triangles for a quilt with on point blocks - its in there
for example : for a 6" finished block the side triangles would be a 9 3/4" square cut into 4 on the diagonal. The corner triangles would be a 5 1/8" square cut once on the diagonal.
