Saturday, January 25

Post by suzette58 » Fri Jan 24, 2014 10:39 pm

Good morning everyone.
We are having a heat wave!! It is 20.1 outside this morning. I better get my flip flops out. LOL! Today I have a few uglies to take care of then I am heading to Joann's. I have to get batting for Lydia's quilt. I was going to piece batting but the 2 I was going to use won't fit. Oh darn a trip to Joann's. Yesterday was a long day. We are going through a re-fi on our house and I thought it would be easier to stay with the same mortgage company. Now I am really wondering. The person that is processing our loan seems to wait till the last minute to ask for something. Driving me nuts. It is easier to go through my treatments then a re-fi. Have a wonderful day.

Good Morning Suzette and everyone who follows,

Im up early but that's everyday today I plan on working on my BIRDHOUSES I had them all drawn on to the fusible web but after I fused it to the fabric I hated the fabric it was like I didn't see the magic that I normally see so it's back to the drawing board.

I Hope Everyone Has A Great Day.
Prayers Go Out To All IN Need.

Flip flops, trip to Jo-anne's, my kitten is doing cartwheels. (5am)here!

Last time I was at Jo-anne's Grand forks ND, couldn't get out of store, like some magnet at door, sucking me back into shop.

Most of my work is done, staying indoors sewing, fish sticks.. Just a lovely day. We're back to -35C yes from -4C yesterday.

Think the concensious in MB is can't wait for all this weather to end.

Good Morning Cotton Pals

Well I was up at 4 with the puppy but she did her
business and went right back to sleep

We did get to stay in bed until 6:30 I was so happy..
We have very thick ice in our lagoon and we are waiting
for the thaw is so windy today too. It feels like zero
out there.

I have one errand today and then in the house.
I think I will make stuffed peppers in the slow
cooker and then wash clothes.

I think I might even get some sewing in.
I am trying to figure out what kind of border to
make for my anniversary quilt.

Stay warm everyone
God Bless
Dolores

Good morning! No snow here. We are going for the 50s today, 60s tomorrow and 20s on Monday. What cruel weather. Nights will fall to single digits once again.

I'm going to make the most of today... meeting my friend for a quilting lesson, see Mom and take her my new Quiltmaker magazine, then for some groceries. Odie will be riding shotgun.

Yesterday after we worked and re-did the bathroom at the rental, I came home and made three receiving blankets and three burp cloths for my DD for her friend.

I'll try to get back this afternoon...

Good morning.. happy weekend.

today Mar and I hit the rummage sale where we will shop till we drop, that should take 30 minutes....then my aunt is coming over and we will get our hair cut. and after that Mar will have a friend come over to spend the night.. they have these rubberband looms and will make all kinds of treasures...so much fun so little time.

my plan is to get my bird beaks on my birds and get them ready for the mail. and to make the BOM blocks. and hopefully I will still have enough time to try that disappearing pinwheel block...

next week will be a doozy, on Wednesday I have the interview for that job at work...it's a three step process. I both want it and don't want it... so I have decided to go through the process and have prayed and asked God to put it in my lap if I am supposed to have it and not put it in my lap if I'm not...

then on Wednesday after work I have my final (after three years in waiting) adoption interview... now how stupid is this.. they will ask me all kinds of questions about my past... my highschool years 32 years ago.. it has nothing to do with who I am today... I think what is irritating is the person conducting the interview is likely under 32 and, like everyone else in this process, makes a judgement based on a very short visit... I mean, how can anyone determine if I am a good parent in a 15 minute visit each month? and after the junk they have pulled how can they deny me adoption...

I do see why people go outside the country to adopt, the US makes it so difficult.

Maryq.. I love those reds and blues from CT... and have you seen their new line.. so happy... I try not to look, I really need to use what I have before buying more... sorry about your roommate, hope she is looking and doesn't try to stay, just one more month...

Judi, I have seen where when basting the EPP papers to the fabric don't tie a knot in your thread, just let it hang, then baste the next one and the next one never cutting your thread, so you have a chain of hexi's... then the basting thread just pulls out... I have never tried it... those hexi's are pretty cheap. I get mine at paperpieces.com... they often have sales... SharonKL bought a hexi cutter in a scrapbook store... she simply punches out her hexi's... she's cleaver that one.

Sherry, my toes are cold all winter too... infact I started wearing DH's thick socks and it doesn't help... even now in my slippers they are cold... crazy....

Jana, we have a half bath inside the back door going out side.. it's off the laundry room, best bath in the house... I am sure you will love yours as much as I love mine.

Suzette, good luck with your re-fi..

Lois.. don't scrap your birdhouse and start over.. post a picture in the swap section and get feedback first. I hate to think you went through all that trouble just to start over.

Scrap48, what project are you working on now?

Izzy, your cat blocks are adorable... I have seen a few cat laying down blocks but yours is the best so far.

Becca, what is Quilts of Valor day? do they have a show ?

Dolores, I haven't had stuffed peppers in a long time.. I may show up for dinner... is there a picture of your anniv. quilt coming soon?

Chickie.. if you have your new QM magazine mine should be coming soon... I think everyone's weather isn't doing what it's supposed to do lately...

hope you all have a blessed day,
Chriss

Good morning! We too are having a heat wave - up to 25 out there (-4C) and I am getting out flip-flops and the shorts. Not really. Have step-son out shoveling the ramp - it had a 2-3 foot deep drift and the drive has a drift that is up the to hood of the truck. Our truck is a Dodge Ram diesel and the hood is about even with my head. I am 5'2". So, it is deep. Going to go to the hospital to visit with DH and hopefully get some milk for the GS. AND we are having a great-grandbaby today!! This makes number 5!!!
