FEBRUARY Lotto Block - WINNING HANDS - The WINNER's ARE ...

What a great night I had yesterday. I went over to Jamie's for our Wednesday sewing day and I met Isabelle who just happened to have a QIAD Log Cabin book. I had brought my Winning Hands Lotto blocks to finish up and explained about the Lotto thread. I showed her what I was doing as I finished up the three I had to do. She showed a lot of interest and eager to give it a try. I brought a new set of 4 fabrics all cut out and ready to stitch. I gave her the print out I had made and asked her what do I do first and on we went. Showed her how to square up the 4 patch and cut and press. After completing the block I gave it to her. She will be making at least 2 of her own at home.

I can't tell you how much joy I got out of teaching her how to make the block. I have made many Lotto blocks before in front of my friends but this was the first time anyone was this eager to try one of their own and join in with us. I am so glad I was prepared. She love it. YEA!!!!

Made it through yesterday! 80 boys for an 8 hour event for Merit Badges. Long long day as I had to get there at 6 to set up and didn't leave until 6 for clean up.

Andrew completed the last of his Merit badges for his Silver Palm. After you make Eagle, if you are not yet 18 you can stay in Scouts and continue to earn Merit badges and have fun. They go Bronze, Gold, Silver. (military style). And you must be active in your troop for 3 months and earn 5 more Merit Badges for each Palm. We told him once he completed this, we would never make him earn another Merit Badge so he is done. He is running scout sunday today (yes, he is acting as minister and will be conducting the service and delivering the sermon!) Then he only has to hang out until he is 18 in June. 10 long years but he has done it!

I may get to sew a bit after church.

Velda - FABulous blocks. Even more so in person. Wonderful fabric choices. If I lived close to you I would have raided your stash and enjoyed some sewing time with a pal. I love my HUG and that little bag is sew cute. I am not one to play with zippers but that was creative. HUGE THANKS :)

Sooz - I have those times also when I have something to mail. In fact I have a Netflix movie that is sitting underneath the TV - Ugh. The Olympics just have priority :) Velda's blocks were supposed to come tomorrow so you might just be right

Well, I just don't seem to have time. Sunday was scout sunday and after that Took Andrew to Napa, came home and died.

Monday troop, Tues home too late due to corporate meeting, Last night wanted to pay bills but Andrew's laptop died again for the 4th time since September and best buy can't understand why I am furious. Maybe tonight I can get to the bills and sew a bit on Friday night. My house is screaming to be cleaned too as sis is coming ont he 22nd to move Dad to her place.

Unfortunately, I am not convinced it will happen this month. Don't wait for me.
