Sunday, January 19

Post by suzette58 » Sat Jan 18, 2014 11:59 pm

Good morning everyone.
I am still trying to get my pictures to upload to Photo Bucket. I wish there was some other way to post pictures here. Oh well, I will keep plugging along on that. Yesterday I did my uglies and then worked on the wedding quilt. I am hoping to get Lydia's quilt layered and start quilting it. But, Mother Nature is not cooperating with me. I layer my quilts on our deck to give me the room I need. Maybe later today it will work out. Have a wonderful day.

Good morning,

Up in the middle of the night, could it because I fell asleep at 7 last night, we will be leaving for home today. It was a fun trip with our friends, Joe and Darlene, but I am ready to go home and watch Downtown Abbey tonight. Couldn't get it last week. Hope my dvr was on and recorded it. :(. With my luck. Not.

I found out yesterday that my niece, Marie , died on the 16th in Michigan. She has leukemia and was given 3 - 5 years. She didn't even make it a year. She was my oldest brother's only child. I am so sad about this, but she is with her Mom and Dad and her late husband. Say a prayer for her and her children if you have one to spare.

Wish we could have gotten Scottie and Luke together. But maybe next year. Luke has done real well on this trip. People stop me when I am walking him and tell how well trained he is. If only I could STOP him from talking, he would be perfect. Well, perfect at times. Lol

Hope everyone has a wonderful day. I am thinking of you.

Carole

photobucket difficult, keep trying and it will happen. I've posted before can't understand why it doesn't work now... Also, getting impatient with setting up ebay, paypal messaging, windows, mail, people accounts on computer, they ask to enter code given, yet it says don't exist, next possibility is a phone in the code, but now I'll need to pay for cell activation. Whatever happened to write on paper with pen, stamp and mail it in a post box..? That was easy!

I get 3 TV channels only, (free) here beyond that we must pay $80.00 mthly for basic cable.. With computer get to see anything/everything quilt related. Much to learn there. Library(free) movies watch only what interest.

One QIAD member suggested cheese sauce and taco chips for my fondue be heading to store later can't wait to try it out. Some veggies to, sounds like good sunday snack.

Some sewing till light out, if feel like removing snow off garage while mild out, then it be good idea.

Suzette: I followed the instructions about photobucket that is given under the Quilt Photo Topic. Now I can even send from my IPhone directly to photo bucket. That’s even easier. Hope you get it to work for you. So sorry for the insurance troubles. We have to watch that carefully too, that our doctors and hospitals are “in network”. So glad they got it worked out for you.

Carole: So glad you and Maryz had a great visit. I know what you mean about our dogs being so vocal. Willy comes out of the RV and barks and I think he is saying “Yeah, look at me, I am out” “Watch out now, I am coming” LOL Sometimes if it is late at night, I make him wear his bark collar, to keep me quite. LOL

Today is church and then I will probably work on more of my bird houses. I have eleven completed. I was able to get the hand sewing done last night. I made a French knot for the birdie’s eye and used the floss to stitch on a beak and feet. It’s just the accent it needed. I believe it is easier than trying to do it with the machine.

Yesterday, I pressed on all the pieces for the last bunch of blocks. So today, I will appliqué them.

I have a bunch of UFO projects to complete as well, but not as many as it seems that you all have waiting to finish. I think we all need to just try to get at least one or two of them completed before spring. Do you think we can do it??? Not?

We get side tracked so easy. We see new fabric that catches our eye, or a new pattern that we JUST HAVE to try. First thing you know, there’s another UFO sitting there waiting to be finished. LOL

Have a great Sunday. Do something fun. Hug someone you love.

Velda

Good Morning,,,I slept late today,,,,The breast Cancer Fund raiser was a giant success,,,The hall was so packed they had to go out and get more chairs....a really funny comedy act and pizza We had front row seats (thanks to my sis who saved them) saw how a community comes together for a couple of sweet people hit by this tragedy. I didnt win any prizes in the raffle but had fun anyway.

Nothing on the books today but a trip to the grocery store later. trying to keep the fridge pretty empty so we don't have a lot of food to take....since we are going for a month I emppty the kitchen fridge take all the condimnts with us and turn it off. saves on electricity.

working on the block 2 of the christmas quilts...more pieces and her directions weren't really clear so I had a couple of screw ups///finally got it.

Well this kitty is being very verbal...need to get going have a great sunday prayers sent

The creeping crud has invaded my house. Caleb had it on Thursday and this morning I woke up to my hubby getting sick. Right before leaving for church I told Emily I better stay home my stomach is feeling queasy. So off Em went to church by herself.

I got three Sylvia blocks done yesterday. It felt good to be sewing again after the break.

My tooth is still a little sore but I am really noticing improvement :-) I can't believe I have to want until the 30th for him to fill the hole left from the root canal, but he said we have to make sure all the infection is drained because if he fills it then the infection will back up again and I can have some real major problems... I will take his word for it. The antibiotic will help with all that too.

I think I'll find a sermon to listen to, maybe that will get my mind off my stomach.

Keep looking up,

Vicky

Good Snowy but shoveled out Morning......

I only have a few minutes. Shoveling out took longer than I thought. I'm not going to the quilt meeting. I didn't realize I was invited to my niece's birthday party. Why are adults invited to children's parties at Bouncy Houses? I won't know anyone.

Love & Prayers to all in need......Kathy

Good morning all.

It is very foggy out right now...not sure what the weather is supposed to be today.

DH just left to take DGS home. I sure do hate my shortened visits, but since his daddy is going to church with him, I guess I will get over it! He sure does brighten my day.

DS#3 and his GF will be over later today. I guess I better come up with a plan for dinner.

Carole, I am so sorry for your loss. Hope you have a safe and uneventful trip home.

Chriss, I hope to have a "birdhouse" day, too!

Scraps, that photobucket can be a pain.

Velda, I will probably do French knots for my birdies eyes, too. I will have to practice them first. Been many a year since I made one!

Grammie, sounds like you all had a great time. My cat was very verbal this morning, too! LOL

Vicky, sorry to hear about all the "crud". Hope everyone gets feeling better soon.

Kathy, I agree about those children's parties. Hope you have a nice time, anyway! Heck, take off your shoes and get in that bouncy house with the kids, LOL!

Suzette, I hope it clears up for you so you can get your layering done.

Well, guess I better go find some breakfast. I'll have to head to Wallyworld to find something to fix for dinner and I need to shower first.

Hope everyone have a wonderful day.

Hugs,
Mel

Good Morning Girls

Slept in a bit myself this morning... woke up with a headache.. Man I hate that! Must be PMS or something. Had a very productive day yesterday: dusted EVERYWHERE, vac'd, washed entry floor, cleaned kitchen, paid bills, made my plane reservations for AK, took a nap and still had a little time to SEW. Cut out pieces for more Bird Houses and did a little mending for a co-worker. Room mate mostly sat and watched! Tho she did clean up a little mess in the down stairs family room!

Today I'm going clothes shopping, and food shopping.. I'm out of peanut butter and that could be bad. When I get home from that, I'll start laundry and SEW some bird houses. While trying to get to sleep last night I was thinking about how I could get Jen's "wedding quilt" done before I go up in May,, counting the number of weekends I have to work on it. Nose to the grind stone time!

Velda... Oh My I get side tracked so very easily!!! Especially when Teresa puts together the Lotto Block and some else says SWAP!!! I haven't tried to photo from photo to Photo Bucket yet, but that sounds like it would be very easy to do.

Suzette.. have you ever tried laying a quilt on the carpeted floor? I used to do mine that way, but I have to move furniture around to do it and it's hard on the knees to crawl around on the floor!

Kathy... you need to find a sweet neighbor with a snow blower to clear you driveway! I'm so lucky to have one... a couple inches of snow and he's right there! Hope you have fun at the birthday party. GO for a bounce!

Vicky... glad your tooth is better, but sorry the Crud has hit your house! Sometimes I think that stuff sticks around because we can't open windows and let in fresh air!! Room mate had it last week, and I'm so very grateful I haven't gotten it!

Carole...There's just no place like home! So sorry to hear of your niece's passing. Prayers for her family.

Judi... glad to hear the fund raiser was such huge success. Restores your faith in humanity when people come out to help someone in need!

Mel....hope the fog clears off before you have to go out! Haven't even looked out the window here, but I hear it's supposed to get up into the 30's today---then another Artic Blast tomorrow. I'm so ready for winter to be OVER! I want to mow my lawn!!!

Okay girls, time for me to get butt up and shower up and head out. Want to get the shopping done so I have time to sew this afternoon!
I'll stop back later and see how y'all are doing!

In the meantime.. have a most wonderful day!
