1. Friendship Star Block 10 Page 34
2. Blazing Star Block F-9 Page 20
3. Children's Delight Block B-4 Page 24

Good Luck girls the Blazing Star may take you awhile. I used to make these stars for Quilts Unlimited. The other two blocks are super easy.

I agree, those kind of stars are much easier.
Izzy, you aren't that far behind, you'll get caught up soon. I need to get busy on these blocks too, you know what I've been working on. Making progress too. I plan to sew Sylvia blocks tomorrow...

Girls, I'll tell you what we used to do when I worked for "Quilts Unlimited". The star center can be a pain---with this solution in mind you may not need the hammer. You'd be surprised what spray starch and little water can do. It you have a mole hill, use enough water to make the fabric damp. Then on a towel iron the dickens out of it. Be sure to iron on the wrong side. The pattern for the star we're making is accurate and it goes together pretty good. Besides the quilting stitches cover up a lot of mistakes. Hang in there, you can do this....Hand piecing may be easier---I do that sometimes when I'm making only one block.

Here's the deal with the Friendship block- it is my all time most un-favorite block so I turned it into a double friendship block. Or is called a Star for all Seasons in El's books.

I also don't care much for the Children's Delight so I may make a totally different block for that one. El has a nice block called Kennedy in her First Ladies book that I may use.

The Star, well it's another one of those blasted Y-seams!!! (low growl)

So if I trade blocks out does that disqualify me for any upcoming surprises?

Vicky, no we wouldn't disqualify you for replacing another block for something you don't like. I won't be making Grace's Friendship block page 35, but I will make something in it's place. I don't think it goes with the other blocks.

When you don't like or prefer not to make one of the blocks, be sure to post a picture of the block you've substituted. Just be sure you end up with 140 blocks at the end. All your blocks need to be posted to be in the final drawing or be included in any of the small gifts.

This is YOUR quilt, make it to suit yourself or you won't be pleased with your quilt.

If there is any block that has been posted you don't feel comfortable making choose another block, tell us which block you are replacing, take a picture of the finished block and you will receive credit for that block.

Does this seem fair???
