CAROLE - so sorry to hear of your own woes but glad it wasn't worse. Our RV's take a beating, rocking and rolling as we go down the highway. And ours gets an extra workout bouncing around out on the desert! and they aren't built solid like houses. But parts sure are expensive! I guess it's all part of the "RV experience". Will honk as we drive over you today in Ehrenberg! I think your RV park is practically under I-10, and right on the river, right?

Mary, Yes, we are right by I-10 and the Colorado River. We will be waiting to hear that honk. Luke and I will be waving and barking (Luke will do the barking, not me LOL) at you. See you in a few.

Good morning!
Yesterday I worked on the bird house blocks. All are fused, and I started doing the appliqué. My table looks like “Here a chick, there a chick, everywhere a chick chick…” Today I must spend some time on the floors…
Vicky—I love your Sylvia blocks! A Winding Ways quilt is on my list. The one I made got caught in the fire before it was quilted. I really like the interlocking circles effect. I should read the book…
Suzette—best wishes to you!
Becca—You have been busy with your DGC quilts! Deer love hosta plants… be warned! Our dogs bark at them here, but we see them all the time. So far they aren’t munching on my plants.
Velda—I love all your activities. Corn Hole sounds like our old bean bag games when we were kids—just weighted for adults. We never grow up, do we? I have seen the paper tolling but don’t think I have the patience or nimble fingers for it.
Chriss—the quail are cute, but the CA quail are beautiful! Ours don’t have the topknot that your quail have. They have almost disappeared here due to farming operations and hunting. DH has joined this initiative to provide habitat in hopes of rebuilding the quail population. We don’t hunt, so it would be sanctuary for them. I don’t have many reds… uh, oh! You know what that means…
Judi—nothing like hot bread for a business talk. Hummmmm… Now if we just had a bunch of ladies to take hot bread to congress—think how much could get done! No one can argue and be grumpy with a mouthful of hot buttered bread and maybe some homemade jam… I need to find your energy for getting quilts done.
Cindy—I tend to avoid the crowds at the store and end up with items missing that were on my list. I go for the butter—lots of it!
Lois—have a great day! I have to go to town tomorrow and will pick up some produce.
MaryZ—love the description of the retirement quilt! So glad your truck is ready to roll again. Don’t you love the “only” figures. You could have hung fabrics from the windows of the RV, truck, trailer, towmobile and called it a parade float—you stopped traffic—might as well give ‘em a parade! Neat that you will see Carole before long.
Carole—I think mechanics always give the “worst case scenario” so you will be relieved and grateful when they give the final bill. Enjoy your visit with MaryZ. I love Cathedral windows! My bucket list has surpassed the barrel and is now at the vat stage… Luke and Scotty should have fun meeting each other.
Time for me to get busy. Have a super day!

Good Morning Girls
Yikes,, we're in the deep freeze again! Only 5* above and it's getting colder and windier and a chance of more snow! I have a feeling we're going to miss out on any January Thaw!
Not much news to share from here... yup it's Wednesday and I have my TO DO list started... in two parts: chores and FUN STUFF! Room mate posted on FB that she's going to the movies this weekend, so I'll have the house to myself for a bit--YIPEE. Maybe she will do a little apartment hunting this weekend and heaven forbid--clean a little!
Maryz.... glad to hear you will be on the road again soon and that the repairs weren't as much $$$ as they could have been!
Suzette... will be thinking of you today! Radiation treatments don't hurt do they?
Vicky... I'm the same way when I read....have to read things twice. Haven't been in a reading mood for ages and I got 3 books for Christmas this year. I feel guilty if I just sit and read when I could be doing chores or better yet sewing!
Becca.... do you make your burp clothes with flannel? Every time there's a new baby where I work I make a tote bag and burp clothes!
Hope your DH is feeling better and gets a good lab report today! My Dad was on the local news here several years ago about the deer coming up and eating everything.. He was so mad that they ate all his flowers! They lived in a suburban area... not out in the country!
Velda.... There's just not enough hours in the day to do everything we WANT to do is there?
Chriss.... REDS? I'll have to start stocking up on REDS! Have you seen the newest CT catalog with all the REDS! I hear my credit card groaning already! Better get my bird houses done before I even THINK about RED! Good luck on your interview today!!!
Cindyg... I'm working today too.. BLAH BLAH BLAH!
Chickie.... Floors? again? It's a never ending battle keeping floors clean! check out the Reds at CT!
Carole... I hope you have your camera ready when Maryz get there!
Ok, I know I've missed a few of you, but computer time is up and I have to get ready for work! Going in a little early to work on a huge project that I didn't get a chance to finish yesterday. The pharmacy now has all it's new desks and I'm hoping they get all the computers up and running this morning!
Have a great day everybody!

Re: Happy Hump Day Wednesday January 15, 2014
Good morning all! Well, today is my 47th anniversary. Where has time gone? We got married on the same day as the very first Super Bowl, but back then it was not that big of a deal. I loved El's Mystery Block Party yesterday. It has gotten me back in the mood to quilt. I had kinda gotten away from it in the last couple of months with the holidays and the cold weather. This afternoon I am going to start pulling out my fabric and get it organized for the quilt.
Maryq - Glad you will have some time to yourself this weekend. perhaps you can tack some ads for apartments to her door. Hint! Hint! it is cold here too and I never get used to it.
Carole - Enjoy your vacation. I am anxious to see your Cathedral Windows when you get done. I think they are beautiful, but I am not brave enough to try them.
Maryz - Glad your truck is repaired and you are getting back on the road. Safe Trip!
Cindyg - thanks for putting on my crockpot recipe on here for Chriss. I am glad that so many people are enjoying it. it is one of the easiest and delicious recipes I have. I am a Downton Abbey fan also. What did you think about last weeks episode and what happened to Anna? Anna and Bates are my favorite characters. I want them to be happy. Guess I am an old romantic.
Chriss - Hope you enjoy the crockpot recipe. When I first posted it I didn't realize how many people would try it and like it. I use rump roast when I do mine, but you can use any type you want. I also add potatoes and carrots sometimes. It is so tender, delicious and easy. The easy part is what is important to me. Good luck on your job interview. Hope it works out for you. I really enjoyed the Block Party yesterday. It has really gotten me excited about getting back to my quilting. I have been pretty lax lately. Been concentrating on my counted cross stitch projects.
Suzette - You will be in my thoughts and prayers as you start your treatments.
Vicky - I am a reader also, but I go in spurts sometimes. I just got the new book by Mary Matalin and her husband James Carville. I am a big fan of theirs and am looking forward to reading the biography of their marriage because of their careers.
Well, better go get some uglies and errands done before I start to drag out all my quilting fabric containers. Case anyone is interested this morning's breakfast was pancakes with strawberries,
juice and coffee. You are all welcome any times.
Sherry

Maryz - if you go to the Rocky Creek @ Somerville Lake website you can see where we'll be - we are in 127 and Sue & Kenn are in 128. I will definitely envision you and your family and rig across the street. I'm glad you have your truck back and you can get on with it.
Carole - I'm so glad your RV problems weren't as bad as they could have been. Things are always happening because they aren't stationery - they are on the move going around curves and over bumps so the walls and parts are always shifting. And then, of course, they aren't built like a home and they aren't the best built things in the world I don't care how expensive they are - they are all still nothing but a condo on wheels. Good luck on your Cathedral Windows - that was my quilt from hell.
Chickie - you are always doing your floors. Do you have a floor fetish? LOL Your chicks chicks chicks are so darn cute.
Maryq - working stinks, doesn't it? BUT if I didn't work I wouldn't have the $$$$ to buy fabric and stuff or enjoy the quilt show like I do.
Back at it blah blah blah

Good morning,
We have a traipse and a half this morning. Insurance is one of them. We saved a ton of money on our insurance too - moved out of California - my earthquake insurance is better coverage here and only 1/4 the price! Then we will head off and look at having the drapes made for the living room. Now that will be sticker shock for DH! LOL
FIL is doing better too.
So not much sewing for me, later Sarah and I will go and look for fabric for the new BOM that QIAD is doing. The webinar was a hoot yesterday - including her special guest. Oh the trouble those two could fet in to!
Prayers and hugs,
Jana

Re: Happy Hump Day Wednesday January 15, 2014
Good day ladies. WEll if you didnt see yesterday evening I posted late the birthing continues at the FARM LOL
4 lil girls born:) Lil Dipper had Galaxy and Gemini:) Snowwhite had Charming(i know its her prince but fits this lil gal youll see when I post pics:) and Pumpkin had lil girl but her birth canal was toooo small and she got stuck. Took DH and myself to pull her out. Needless to say she died in my arms about 15 min after birth. I cried kissed her bye and off to burial after that. She was really pretty too. Pumpkin is doing ok this morning I checked on her still swollen from delivery but alive and moving around well soooo hopefully wont have any other issues.
Maryz glad you came out on cheaper end with repairs:)) now hit the road and have some fun:) Oh uhm was talking to Larry yesterday; he let me in but wouldnt let me out with any of your stash. Man you have him trained pretty well:))) You were right he didnt care for girlfriend I picked out said she was High Maintenance LOL
Chickie I can just picture your chicks in sewing room:))) You are always doing floors What kind do you have? If like my wood floors they never stay clean but gotta love them:)) Not with farm muck and wood stove
Well last nights showing of els mystery was stuck with Techno issues; I really felt for her--uncontrollable issue NO internet. I was glad I watched in morning but I love to watch after live show cause I can pause it:))
Chriss I will post a pic of what I am thinking. comment please on focal fabric not sure which to choose for that. I too am going black, green, red but had that before she showed hers toooo funny. I have a gold/tan to set my stars though.
here is web page with fabric line
http://www.connectingthreads.com/cffabr ... ow=fabrics
I was thinking of using the multi circle one at first but when she said different stars I though each color scheme could change with the color schemes in this set: blue, green, red and so on. I plan to use the primitive one for borders. So it should all tie together. Any comments would be appreciated from all of you on this:)) Stars is pattern play so far:)
OKie dokie back to work I must go.
Happy sewing all
God Bless and happy thoughts
Izzy

Good afternoon, (The village bell is tolling - at my grandma's the fire station always rang the siren)
It has been a busy morning - a couple appointments and meetings to juggle. They are planning to re-arrange some rooms, so an old copier needed to go. I listed it on craigslist and went into a meeting, and within a half hour we had a call on it and it was picked up and hauled away!
We are only in the 30's today and I believe the weather over Maryq is headed our way. Time to put the lined-jeans back on!
Maryz - glad to hear you are back on the road.
Carole - So you had to do the repairs on the road too. Good that they were on the less expensive end also.
Izzy - congrats on the new family members!
Sherry - Congratulations on 47 years! That is something to celebrate.
Onwards and upwards - I need to pay taxes and such today - blah.

Good afternoon. This is going to be a test to see if my iPad will let me post here. There are a few glitches in the machinery so I think I will be headed to the apple store this weekend .
Mo is in California. He sent several beautiful photos of the mountains. Of course when he starts hiking in tomorrow I am not sure how beautiful he will think they are. Lol
I am hoping that I can get back in here more often, I miss everyone.
My prayers and positive thoughts go out to all in need
Thank you for all of the encouragement through heather's struggle and the prayers.
Pink is soooooooooo the color of choice
