BECCA - I'm sure your cookies and sox will be a much loved surprise for your DGS!

CAROL - a delight to see you set the table for us! Your phrase, "swan out the door", says it all! Hope your weather settles down soon.

We're going to make a crockpot dinner tonite. I thawed some chicken. Not sure what else will go in it. DH wants me to cook it in Sweet Baby Ray's BBQ sauce with pineapple, peppers, and onion and serve it over rice. I might - though we have lots of potatoes that should be eaten. Decisions, decisions. I'm sure there will be leftovers aplenty so we'll be eating this tomorrow, too.

Not sure yet what will be on the table for this evening's meal. May be leftover chicken and pork roast, with some kind of veggie.

CAROL - I read the posts a couple days ago about graham crackers. You thought they may be like Digestives. I buy Digestives for DH when we are in Canada, and they are apples to oranges. Not at all alike. I'm thinking maybe I should mail you a box of graham crackers.

MARYZ - You are so organized and get so much done!

Lyn

Opps, BECCA - please thank your DGS for his service!

Good early morning from a rather soggy, cool, SW. Pa...Yesterday it was in the 50s until the rain came and today it's only in the low 40s.....

Carol, so nice to see you bright and early....You do keep busy don't you? I was also thinking of mailing you some graham crackers....

Becca, bless your heart for taking such good care of your DGS and also bless his heart for doing his part in taking care of our country..He'll love getting that package....Is your DH feeling better?

Mary, you might be stuck in one place but you seem to always make the best of it....No wonder you have so many friends, everywhere.....

Jim's doctor visit turned out fairly good...Of course they found "nothing" when they did the brain MRI (we knew that) but he does have hardening of the arteries...I guess that's easier than saying, dementia...But, doc gave him a bunch of vitamins etc. to take and hopefully it will help...Also told him to start doing word puzzles etc...So, we'll see....Getting old is just so much fun....

After all our shopping yesterday, you'd think I'd have something special lined up for dinner, but, guess what, I don't......As someone posted last week, the brain has gone on vacation and left me behind......But, I might come up with some chicken soup, that is if I get it started....Might even mix up some bread, now wouldn't that be a shocker......I swear, when we go shopping, we're like kids...Jim has to have his donuts and Hershey's chocolate and I need my veggie chips.....

Happy eating...............

The sun is shining..and it's in the 40's...but that will start to change tomorrow. Winter is coming back, Irish..

Monday night dinner with the Pringles got cancelled..so we just went to Mama's Grill to eat. Tonight will probably be smoked sausage, mac and cheese from the box and a veggie...

Good Afternoon Ladies!

Today I had my small sewing group. We met here so I made something for coffee/Tea in the morning then something for dessert. For the morning I made scones and for after lunch I made a Lemon Chiffon Cake with Lemon filling. We celebrated one of the sewer's birthday. Both the scones and the cake received rave reviews.

Tonight for dinner I need to keep it simple so it will be Parmesan Chicken with Salad and Rice. Leftover cake will be dessert. Luckily there are only a few pieces left.

Good late afternoon -

Today was my Activity Day girls - so that means it is no cooking tonight - it's Popeyes Chicken! Whoo hoo!!

I have a whole new set of girls - 13 of them - but they are great - no problems with that large of a group to teach.

Enjoy,
Jana

I will have to cook tomorrow - leaning toward a meatloaf or "mac & cheese", the banned kind of cassarole.
