Good Morning!
TERESA - That is some delivery story. Mine was almost 4 weeks late! In those days, they - or at least my doctor - didn't induce. She was born in the middle of a cold snowy week. It was a very interesting 15-mile slide to the hospital at 0200! Hope your scan gives some useful information and they can fix you!
SUZ - best thoughts go with you today and for the course of your radiation. I made a quilt 3 yrs ago for my grandson that I just didn't like. I had to force myself to get it finished in time for Christmas. I STILL don't like that quilt! Every time I come across it the magazine pattern I used for it, I shudder. Nothing to do but go forward and get it done and out of your sewing room ASAP.
JULES - congratulations on only 1.5 pound gain! Over the holidays, that's amazing! Gives encouragement to get back in the swing of it. How's Charley doing? Is she keeping the house?
LOIS - Yay!! You are almost through this ankle thing! I hope you have no residual effect from your injury.
BECCA - hope you warm up soon! Hope your DH is feeling better, too.
VELDA - I think Teresa was referring the the 2011 Road to California Quilt show in So. Cal. Are you piecing or appliqueing your bird houses? You might want to think about cuttiing 13" blocks instead of 12-1/2". I have found they tend to 'shrink' as you applique or stitch, or just ravel with handling/mailing/etc.
CHRISS - whoa!! Was that you that just tore through here! Have a nice day!
KATHY - I hate the pile of mail that collects when we are gone. Our house-sitter sorts it, but we've often found bills and personal mail tossed into the junk mail basket. So we have to go through everything anyway. Glad you are home and hope all is OK at your frozen home.
JUDI - what a close call on that pipe! I hate when things are my fault. Bill is always so quiet when I do things like that. Never says a word which makes it even worse! your quilts sound ambitious and challenging. Who can resist that?? do you have any photos of your pattern?
This morning is leaving day. But not an early start. We were so busy yesterday we didn't get a chance to go see Warren & Lois so we'll go this morning before we hit the road. I don't know if I mentioned it to you, but Lois's cancer is back and all through her abdomen. The good news is that 5 minutes after they told her, she forgot all about it. Her mind has gotten so bad that she lives in a tiny little world now. she was put on Hospice Care but will remain in their assist. living apartment as long as possible. The doc didn't say, but the nurse mgr estimated she had 3 months to live. Knowing Lois, she'll make it at least 5 months. their 60th anniversary is end of May and their first great grandchild (girl) is due that day. A lot to live for.
I had my final appt yesterday for my dental implants and I already love them! They fit better than natural teeth! They dont' even feel strange in my mouth! Yay!! No more dentists until May for cleanings now!
Scottie is still sporting his cone. But it's not slowing him down much! he's still rasseling with us and harrasing the cat. I think the dog is gonna live!
I will have internet a lot of the time while traveling, so I can keep up on you all. dont' forget the giant 3-headed dragon that I will have guarding my stash! His name is Larry is you happen across him. He's mean!
TTYL!

Judi - I'm so glad you didn't get a burst pipe. Whew - that was close. I still don't know how y'all stand living in such frigid weather. I'm jealous you got to sew all day yesterday!
I suppose Maryz and Bill are on the road. Happy travels, y'all.

CINDY - sorry to shoot right on over you! Is your pain on your presser foot side? It sounds just like what I had and still get if I go on a sewing marathon. I couldn't even walk, but did more of a scooting sidle. My massage therapist REALLY helped me (not all of them do what he does, though). But switching feet for a while while sewing helped immensely. So sorry you missed guild last night. Did Sue go? See you soon!

Good morning to all,
We started out 12 degrees warmer this morning than yesterday morning, but 8 degrees is still cold! They say we will be flirting with 50 degrees by the weekend.
Jules - that is really good to only be up 1 1/2 lbs over the holidays! I hope the rain water is gone before the freezing temps hit you. I hate ice.
We have one pipe that has frozen so we are hoping it thaws without breaking.
Little Harley is 2 months old today. She had a check-up and she is 11 lbs now.
Elizabeth has a coffee date today with a guy who is a folk singer. The last guy was a cowboy (although he had never been around cattle or horses.) We shall see.
I''''m hoping to get something accomplished today other than huddling under a blanket or standing next to the pellet stove! I''''m such a wimp with cold.
Hope everyone has a warm, safe day,
Karlene

Good morning!
We have company staying with us for a couple of days. They are here on a sad visit. A little grandson was born, 2 days ago, and because of complications during the delivery, will not survive. He is being aided in life now, but will be taken off support tomorrow. Sweet little boy.
So it will be just a quiet day of packing away all the decorations and embroidering bibs for Ethan. Ethan loves his bibs, except for when he spills on them. Then it is a full blown two year meltdown! LOL
We have warmed up slightly, and it is snowing - we should only get a couple of inches.
Stay warm,
Hugs,
Jana

Just a quick note this morning.
We have sunshine but still terrible cold out may try to go to store this afternoon.
Becca Thank You for thinking of Tom & I, things are doing fairly good, he has reached the stage where he is tired of the cast an being homeward bound. I had my Endoscopy yesterday, (youngest son was my designated driver they won't release you to a taxi unless you have an escort & of course, you aren't allowed to drive for 24 hrs. Everything went well we did have a 2 1/2 hr wait in my little cubicle guess someone had a problem or they just got behind anyway the Dr. said he saw no signs of Cancer YEA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! go back to oncologist on Fri. to see if he heard back from CA research place. I am feeling pretty good most of the time my liver area is still sore where they did the biopsy but no signs of infection.
Teresa, hope you are feeling better what kind of a test did you have done guess I messed that. Keep you in my prayers.
I so wanted to join the SP group but was afraid to commit not knowing what is coming down the road maybe next time....I enjoy fixing things up for my SP.
Suzette good luck with your radiation tx. Keeping you in my prayers.
The birdhouse swap sounds like it will be fun an so many of you are doing a lot of sewing that is great. I maybe make into my sewing room see if I can find something to play with.
Everyone have a great day.....Prayers for those in need.

Good evening!
It's been a day. It was supposed to be our first day of Bible study, but they decided to wait a week. Life in a small town...
Then the outlaws showed up an hour early and came through an unlocked door on the back side of the house (DH forgot to lock it). I nearly had a heart attack and asked them why they didn't come in through the front. My SIL said something to the effect that they're family and could come in wherever. Umm, NO! I'm getting padlocks for the back gates next time I'm at the hardware store. Tomorrow should be quiet....
Hope y'all had a good day. Praying for test results and warmer weather! Maryz, safe travels!
xoxo Sharona
