Whoops It is really - Wednesday, January 8, 2013

Good morning Pals
First of all my heart and prayers go out to each of you and your families that are in the midst of the severe cold storm. It has been so long since I have live on the east coast that I know my CA skin wouldn't even go outside. My DS#1 was born in the Blizzard of 78', 5lb 4oz. They induced me at the last checkup thinking it would be ok because his due date was very soon. Ugh - Little did they know he was 4-6 wks to early but I was running into eclampsia difficulties. XDH used snowshoes to get formula. Memories.

The scan went reasonably well. I did tell her upfront that there was no doubt she was going to hurt me but to please ignore the cries and moans. I knew what was coming but because I couldn't have anything for the pain I breathed my way through it. She did very well. Many places felt like a very sharp hot stab. Lasted 10 minutes and she was done. After not being allowed to eat all day we went to dinner but every time I tried to chew my tension headache got worse and worse. Now the wait of Thursday or Friday for the results and I will not waiting 3-4 weeks to hear them. :) :)

DH picked up the car while I was doing the scan. It turn into $$$$.00 because when they took the plug out of the oil pan the threads came with it so they had to buy one - Grrrr. Rob figured we got at least 500 oil changes out of it so he is not complaining. By the time we finish fixing everything all the mechanics of the car will make it feel new which is also OK because the car fits us very well. Donna came with us to the R2CA 2011. She bought a PFAFF embroidery machine. With everything ALL of us bought there was absolutely no room left, trunk and back seat were filled to the brim. Was a grand day indeed.

Now I am off to bed with pain pill and sleeping pill. I wish you warmth, safety, traveling mercies and cotton play time. HUGE HUGS!!!
Teresa

P.S. - LAST DAY TO SIGN UP FOR SECRET PALS and those of you who have not UPDATED your HINTS Thread please try to get over to the Hints Thread and do so or anything goes for your SP to use.
*** Thank you Chickie for the info on Barbara - Perfect!!!

Good morning Teresa and those that follow.
I just got some really good news. My friend that was staying in the Salvation Army shelter has gone to North Carolina. I am so happy for her. A friend came up and got her. She really deserves a break. Today starts my radiation treatments. This appointment is called the planning appointment. So here goes. Hopefully it will be the end of this road. After my appointment I have to take my sewing machines back out to their house and get to work. I am having a hard time getting this baby quilt done for Lydia. I am not inspired at all. I love the fabrics I picked. I don't know what is wrong. Maybe a break will be a good thing. Oh well, have a great day

Morning girls

Teresa - I'm with you on sendiing prayers out to all in the midst of the storms.....I keep watching it on our news and I can't quite believe what I'm seeing.....sorry about the pain you're in but hoping they have some good answers for you at the end of the week and a solution quickly foloows xx

Suze - good luck and pryaers for your radiation therapy starting.....hope you can get your mojo back to finish that baby quilt, i ad no enthusiasm last year for sewing, but it came back all of its own, boy am i glad :)

for all/any of you stuck in the storms, my heart, prayers and best wishes go out to you....it looks so scary on the news, I don't know how/what I'd do faced with that. Today is the first day I've woken up without it raining, I just managed to get through a flooded road to Chris's yesterday, and then the police closed the road so I had to find a different way home......I'm hoping the rain is over, you're ice storm is meant to be coming our way and if it comes before all this water has disappeared then it will be like sheet ice out there and no one will be going anywhere.....I did hear a story on the news this morning, that a town in Michigan called has frozen.....so be careful of any promises you might make today saying 'when Hell freezes over....'

I went back to slimming world on monday night....i haven't been for 5 weeks and I was very pleased to see I'd only put on 1.5 pounds in that time, and with christmas/new year in between.....I think I may have just about learned the correct things to eat :)

Good Morning Ladies,

Yesterday went well I don't have to see the orthopedist any more unless I feel things aren't right or I do something else to myself.

I only have a few more visits with PT and that is done also I am very happy this has been a long long road.

Today is foodshopping and then a return from Christmas and then home.

Teresa I hope you feel better soon and get the results you want.

Suzette Lot of Luck with your treatment.

Teresa You really want Thursday to come look at the day above.

Everyone Have A Great Day.
Prayers Go Out To All In Need.

Good Morning Ladies. We are still in deep freeze but today it is supposed to be warmer.Sure hope so.It was 1983 when we had temps like this .The Power Co. asked everyone to conserve so I am waiting to do laundry & anything else not necessary.

TERESA Praying they find your problem & can help. And hoping the car gets fixed.

SUZETTE Praying too that your treatment goes smooth for you.Do not fret over not being motivated right now. That is normnl. It will come on its own.

CINDYg DH can only eat soft food for 3 days.Creamed potatos pudding jello etc.

It is not usually this cold here.Schools have been closed now 3 hr delay. We had sun or we would have froze for sure except when snow was blowing. Now on week end we are to get heavy rain.

I too hope to get motivated. But when it is so cold I do not want to sew.I have a raggy quilt I want to make.Small one.

Praying for those in storms path & all those with needs.

SCRAPPY PAT Sure do hope you & DH are doing as well as possible.

Good Morning Everyone!

I read your post, Teresa, do not know what you are telling us about: “ Donna came with us to the R2CA 2011 “ When you use abbreviations, this dummy doesn’t follow. : )

I hope they will find exactly how to help your pain and problems. Will keep you in my prayers.

Hope the car will run smoothly now and not add up big bucks in repairs in the months ahead.

Looking forward to SP. Lyn has decided that she has too many projects on her shelves to dig into this year and with going to Canada all summer, she will not be joining us on this one. Boo Hoo.

Suzette: Big Hugs and best wishes for your treatments and therapy. Prayers for healing in the year ahead.

Jules: I love to hear from you. Hope the cold and storms are drained and “petered out” by the time they reach across the waters. Congratulations are in order for you: So glad you did well in your weight over the holiday season. That should give you lots of encouragements for the New Year.

Lois: So glad to hear that after the long, long, road, that you are finally able to get back into a routine. It sure has been an adventure for you!!!
Also: what were you trying to say in your message to Teresa : “Teresa You really want Thursday to come look at the day above.” Did the computer slip in some words you did not type??? My silly computer does it to me all the time. LOL

As for me, today, well, it is our Sewing Group day. Another week has flown by. Don’t know if I want to lug my sewing machine up to the club house, so I might just get some pieces sewn for my bird houses, and then I can begin turning them and getting them ready to start on my bird house blocks for the swap. I got my background fabric cut into 12 ½ pieces WOF . When I washed the fabric, I went over to the laundry room and used the big ironing board there to iron out the fabric and then lay out on the big table to cut into the 12 ½ strips. Now when I am ready to appliqué, I can cut into squares on my own counter top in the RV. Much easier to handle.
Sorted through all my left overs and picked out fabric for the houses and birdies.

I have my lotto blocks finished, just going to wait to mail until Lyn gets her blocks ready. We will send our lotto blocks together this time. I put a name on each separate block, and then into a big zip lock bag.

I have a couple of ideas floating around for my SP. But will wait to see who is my pal before I start anything on that one.

Hope your “hump day” goes well. Hope it starts warming up a bit for all of us.

Hugs
Velda

GOOD MORNING!!!!! It's 2'!!!!!!

OMG what a chill we have going on here by Fri we'll be in the 40'. OH Teresa you must have been very tired. You gave me a start with posting Thursday...I thought I lost a day. Hope you sleep well. I have no big plans except calling the car repair which I did not do yesterday.

Teresa.....I'm glad you test is done & wasn't too bad. Now may the results come back fast. I hope my car repair is not too much $$$$$.

Suzette......I'm so glad you friend found somewhere to go. May you planning appointment go smoothly. I don't know why but every once in a while you just get a project that is difficult even though you like it.

Jules.....I've been hearing about all the rain pouring on GB. I hope you don't float away. I'm praying the ocean whips the heck out of the "big chill' before it gets to you.

Lois.....good news, no more Dr. I need to do food shopping, maybe tomorrow.

I never made it back yesterday....the computer freezes. I couldn't even turn it off. I was able to shut it down this morning. I need to deal with the pile of mail that accumulated while I was gone.

Love & Prayers to all in need.......Kathy

Good Morning well I have cabin fever and miss my kiddies but it is still-6 here with wind chills of -17 we have not gone out of the house.....I sewed all day yesterday and felt a chill (duh) went to take a nice hot bath and the pipe was frozen in my bathroom upsteairs,,,yikes Ken had to thaw it out and I guess it was my fault...it is above the sunroom and I closed it up to concerve heat...it was just to cold down there and froze the pipe...so at midnight he was thawing the pipe....no burst pipe so we are good...it would have detroyed my living room////so I am grateful.... perils of living in an old old house....I do love my house though. so today I need to do uglies and laundry,,,,,,,why you ask? I spent the entire day except for cooking supper SEWING, it was so good ....I got one block done on the Christmas quilt. I need to cut 4 of each block and there are lotsa little pieces so getting one done was really good spent some of that time going through scraps for just the right fabrics..it will be a long journey getting them done...14 blocks for each quilt plus borders which are also applique. this past year all the grand kids got quilts so the big kids are next,,,,one son already got his quilt. 3 to go.plus mine...

off to get the chores done....XXXOOO hope you all are warm and well

Teresa - I'm glad your scan only lasted 10 minutes. It probably seemed like 10 hours to you.

Suz - it's OK to feel uninspired sometimes. Is this baby quilt getting in the way of another quilt you had planned on doing? I hope your planning appointment goes well.

Jules - good for you only to have gained 1.5 lbs. during the holidays. I know the correct way to eat....I just don't do it obviously. My sister started Quick Weight Loss on Monday. I know how to lose weight so I refuse to pay to lose - that's just me. Paying is a good motivator for many people.

Lois - that light at the end of your tunnel is getting bigger and bigger!

Becca - conserving energy is a great excuse for not doing the laundry. The only excuse I have is that I'm too lazy - talk about no motivation! I suppose your DH can't have grits or anything with little bits that might get stuck in the tooth hole, right?

Velda - R2CA is Road to California Quilt Show. It's a pretty big one. Not as big as Houston but plenty big enough. You sound like you are thoroughly enjoying yourself. You need to get yourself one of the rolling totes for your sewing machine. It's SO much easier. I bought myself one and I don't even take it to classes or sewing group.....just to Sue's or Vicki's for our mini Sew-a-thons.

Chriss - nice seeing you......whoosh!

Kathy - sounds like your computer has a bug. When's the last time you defragged it? When you go to the store would you pick up a few things for me? Preciate it!

I'm at work and waiting for my accounting program place to open so I can get some help. I'm afraid of doing something wrong - like hit the wrong button at the end of the year and losing a year's worth of payroll. I have made a copy of it all but it still makes me nervous to do some of the updating since I'm no computer whiz. I didn't go to guild last night as I just didn't feel up to it. My hip and groin area are really bothering me so I went home and sat with an ice pack. Didn't sew a thing. Maybe tonight I'll start laundry and sew some after I get done with dinner.

I hope we can all fondle fabric today.
